I wish there were more decent werewolf movies. Full moon and everything tonight.
Ginger Snaps was not bad at all for a low budget early 2000’s werewolf flick. I finally saw it several months ago.I wish there were more decent werewolf movies. Full moon and everything tonight.
“Werewolf By Night” is a Marvel one off special that was really well done (you don’t need to know anything else about the MCU to follow it) if you have Disney +.I wish there were more decent werewolf movies. Full moon and everything tonight.
Good one! Didn't know they brought it back“Werewolf By Night” is a Marvel one off special that was really well done (you don’t need to know anything else about the MCU to follow it) if you have Disney +.I wish there were more decent werewolf movies. Full moon and everything tonight.
This was what I landed on. It wasn't bad and had a few laughs. Something felt "off" though, and finding out after that it was based on a video game made sense. I'd give it a solid 5-6/10. Going for a bit of Clue in the snow with a werewolf. After that, I clicked on American Werewolf in Paris. Absolute crap that movie was. I'd be hard pressed to think of a worse looking movie than that. I made it about 30mins.Werewolves Within is a black comedy about a werewolf in a small town.

Wolf
American Werewolf in London
The Howling
The Wolfman (original)
Silver Bullet
Among my favorites
All good, and have seen them all. It's like the zombie list somebody posted a few days ago though, it feels like there are about 8-10 great ones, then you are weeding mostly through junk. I feel like werewolf movies are in shorter supply, and I was always into them more than other types of monsters in movies.Dog Soldiers, Howl and Wolfen are pretty good
Thanks. I saw it pop up, then crossed it off because I saw "Marvel". I thought it was a show and didn't want to bother with that.“Werewolf By Night” is a Marvel one off special that was really well done (you don’t need to know anything else about the MCU to follow it) if you have Disney +.I wish there were more decent werewolf movies. This one really unnerved me. I thought it was quite effective and had some interesting comments on that profession and mental health in general. I get what you are saying about the monster though and agree that largely goes without saying when you dig into the genre. It's similar to The Babadook and It Follows that way (both I also really liked and found creepy).I’m not a big horror movie guy but decided to do the one horror movie per night during October thing. I started a little early and watched “Smile” last night. Like most horror movies you have to accept the “monster” element while ignoring the absurdity of it but I thought the movie worked very well as a psychological thriller and the acting was surprisingly good for the genre.
I was pleasantly surprised.
It’s a one hour special. It’s really not connected to the MCU at all (other than that Werewolf By Night was a comic book).Thanks. I saw it pop up, then crossed it off because I saw "Marvel". NopeAre the REC sequels 3 and 4 any good?
No. I remember 2 being alright, but they tail off a bit after that. I'm pretty sure one is a prequel as well. Are the REC sequels 3 and 4 any good?
Lol. Or this.NopeAre the REC sequels 3 and 4 any good?
I don't remember them well, but for some reason I have a feeling of liking Saws 2 and 4 more than the OG. Like you said, I always thought the final shot/reveal was a bit silly and I really don't think that Elwes is that good of an actor and he grated on me too. To me it always felt a bit like a Se7en rip off.So continuing on my horror movies during October marathon:
Saw - it's been a long time since I watched this movie. It starts out as more of a mystery than a horror film and I was pleasantly surprised that it was actually a decent film. I'm not sure how spoilery we can get in here but I really did not like the ending/reveal of the villain. Basically they introduce a brand new character when the rest of the movie was the two main characters trying to solve the mystery as to why they were in that bathroom and who put them there. The twist also made very little sense from a practical standpoint - what purpose did it serve?
Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey - I expected this to be bad, and it lived up to expectations. I actually thought it was kind of a clever twist on the Pooh characters during the pre-credit scene, but once it became a strictly torture porn movie, I turned it off. That's just not entertaining to me and the movie wasn't good enough otherwise to make me sit through that.
I started with found footage films too. Watched REC 2 and Hell House LLC. Rec2 was decent but Hell House was awesome, probably the best found footage I've seen.I started off with a couple of found footage movies for my horror adventure.
Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum (peacock, AMC) was first. Korean movie in the vein of Grave Encounters. It has some decent scares and ideas and if you saw and liked Grave Encounters, you'll probably enjoy this one too.
Deadstream (amc/shudder) : I found this movie way more amusing than my wife did. For this one we follow a live streamer who lost his revenue and is trying to get views by going into a haunted house. It's going to be a long watch if you don't find him and his antics funny right away - it is just him for the movie. Some of the stuff I found funny as hell (his tape of spooky music, for example), but some of the humor was a big whiff. There are some creepy things in the movie, but it's way more of a nod to Evil Dead than Blair Witch. It's cheesy, it's low budget, but it was also done by a husband and wife team and it looks like they basically did it all, which also bumps it up for me. I can respect the effort if nothing else. I had a blast with this last night, even if it does have warts. I think some of you will a similar sense of humor will laugh at this one a bit too.

Watched this over the weekend with wife and daughter(14)... we all really enjoyed this oneTalk to Me
This was done well. I have a few questions, plot holes?
Still a fun movie. An Australian movie, so they have those cool accents.
Enjoyed this quite a bit. Has a pretty cool sense of humor about it.The Wolf of Snow Hollow,

This is one of the all-time great horror movies, up there with Halloween, Alien, and Night of the Living Dead. "Odd" is right -- there's lots of weird and quirky stuff in this movie, but it all clicks together and just works in a way that feels organic and unforced. Rob Zombie tried so hard to make this kind of movie, but Tobe Hooper made it look easy.Texas Chain Saw Massacre - classic. Extremely odd movie with very little actual plot and the typical “bad decision” crew of youngsters - but the wackiness works and Hooper really creates a creepy atmosphere. Well worth the short run time.
Yeah other than the fact that people seem to be perfectly willing to walk into other peoples homes - and stay there and look around when it’s beyond creepy in there - it’s really a perfect horror movie. This is one of the all-time great horror movies, up there with Halloween, Alien, and Night of the Living Dead. Agree. TCM is a classic. Everything about it is dirty. This is one of the all-time great horror movies, up there with Halloween, Alien, and Night of the Living Dead. Is this no longer true?I remember seeing TCM2 in the theater. I had just turned 17 and this was back in the day rated R meant, no one under 17 allowed without parent or guardian.
This one scared the hell out of me. I saw it pre-internet and really bought into the "based on a true story" motif. Had to sleep with the lights on that night. This is one of the all-time great horror movies, up there with Halloween, Alien, and Night of the Living Dead. My friend has a supporting role in that movieI didn’t hate a sequel to the American remake of [REC] that starts on an airplane. I liked that it set up like 10 possible zombie virus vectors among the passengers - a guy who got bitten by a animal, someone coughing, a kid with a hamster, etc.
ETA: Quarantine 2. It has a crap rating - 5.2 IMDB… but I liked the airplane half of the movie.
Ah yes, the legend of Cropsey. The documentary is way better.I'll probably fall far short but I'll give the 31 in 31 a shot, leaving room for 2-3 on Halloween night.
1st - Burning (on Prime). 1980's drive-in style slasher fare, which I knew going in. Camp setting with three random 1980s actors I recognized - the nerd from Fast Times at Ridgemont High, the female reporter from Bloodsport and George Freaking Costanza himself Jason Alexander in what I later learned was his first movie. Alexander actually elevated this and stole his scenes. During Halloween season, I can go full spectrum, from the art house to the grindhouse, and I thought this was fun enough for campy horror, no pun intended. Grade - B-
Lol, nice timing. I just got home with a copy of The innocents from the libraryMost older movies aren't too scary and often border on ridiculous but these on I think is pretty great is The Innocents.
Island Of Lost Souls isn't bad either. Probably the best adaptation of The Island of Doctor Moreau there is.
