What streaming serivce?Watching Weapons now. It’s not riveting imo.
I might watch that tomorrow on my day off. I assume you mean Scream, Queen! right? I thought I saw that one pop up on Prime too, but will look again. There is a Netflix doc onthe lead star from Nightmare 2 and what he went thru. Really insightful actually.Oh man, there are definitely scenes from Nightmare 2 i didn't remember.![]()
I remember being 15 years old (1985) seeing this in the theater......and my buddies and I were like...WTF man. LOL yeah fun times.
HBO MaxWhat streaming serivce?Watching Weapons now. It’s not riveting imo.
6 is PowerGlove Freddy, right?Yes it has dare I say some redeeming qualities compared to 5 and the absolute crapfest known as 6.That was one of a few. There were some wild choices in this one. I think it still has to be better than 5, 6, and the remake.Shower scene? I can’t recall much though other than if suckingOh man, there are definitely scenes from Nightmare 2 i didn't remember.![]()
I actually don't think the remake is that bad.....I mean it has much higher production quality then 6. I simply do not ever watch Freddy's Dead. It is that bad. I still stomach Dream Child.....but only in the month of OCtober....one time LOL.
Good thing for Dan it's the only way he watches movies! That's the only way to watch thisI enjoyed it, but I was pretty baked tooI got 15 minutes in and wasn't really feeling it. Worth revisiting?Color Out of Space - Nic Cage, Alpacas, strange purple meteorites. Plenty of hijinks![]()

Yeah 6 was soooooooo bad. Yappet Koto was also in it SMH.6 is PowerGlove Freddy, right?Yes it has dare I say some redeeming qualities compared to 5 and the absolute crapfest known as 6.That was one of a few. I don't remember a ton about the remake to be fair. In my head it was one of the many unnecessary remakes from that time that tried to hard to explain the killer's motivations and backstory. I remember not loving JEH as Freddy as well. But that is why I like to revisit these after years, and sometimes it helps seeing them in a row like this. Mainly I wanted to revisit 2 and New Nightmare, but I might just power through them all like Saw so I can get some "official" rankings in. Not sure I can do Friday or Halloween, but I might look for a few other series that were 5-6 movies max that I haven't seen a couple from. Psycho stands out as one I didn't get to in the last couple years.
I had no idea there were sequels to Psycho. Just looked them up and none ring a bell except the remake. I'll be damned.Yeah 6 was soooooooo bad. As far as The Reboot Nightmare in 2009 I believe? It wasn't bad and I actually liked JEH as he did a creepy job despite being way too short. Is it great? heck no.....2 stars outta 4. But it's far from the shlock part 6 was in 3D.
New Nightmare was damn good IMO. I really enjoy that one.
My Nightmare Rankings:
1) OG 1984
2) 3 Dream Warriors
3) 4 Dream Master
4) New Nightmare
5) Reboot
6) 2 Freddys Revenge
7) 5 Dream Child
8) Freddy vs Jason (baaaaaad)
9) 6 Freddy is Dead 3D (Unwatchable)
The drop off in quality after New Nightmare is a freefall off the Empire State Building.
Psycho......other than parts 1 and 2 it's horrible. I revisited the first 4. Of course the original is a timeless classic. Part 2 is actually quite decent. 3 was an 80's slasher and really aged horribly upon revisiting. And 4 was a bad movie period.
Bates Motel on the other hand is simply fantastic. My wife and I have watched that 2 times already.

Probably a true statementGood thing for Dan it's the only way he watches movies! That's the only way to watch thisI enjoyed it, but I was pretty baked tooI got 15 minutes in and wasn't really feeling it. You should check out Paradise on Hulu. Amazing acting and writing; you will not be disappointed.
Not sure what we’ll go with tonight

That's fair, I guess I enjoyed the execution more. I'm 4-4.5 or so on it.Ok. Weapons is interesting in the way it’s told, but the story itself isn’t particularly original imo. I did like the ending quite a bit. One of my fears is being chased by a bloodthirsty gang of children
ETA: Don’t remember what I gave Barbarians, but going with 3.5/5 on this one
I've fallen behind pace, got 5 days to get in 9 movies. Let's go!1st - Night of the Reaper (AMC+) Grade B-
2nd - Weapons (theater) Grade A-
3rd -The Devil's Candy (AMC+) Grade B-
4th -The Sacrament (AMC+) Grade B
5th -Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde (1941) (HBO Max) Grade B+
6th - House of Darkness (Hulu) Grade D
7th -Tales from the Darkside - The Movie (BBC America) Grade B
8th -Forgive Us All (Prime) Grade C
9th -Good Boy (theater) Grade B
10th -Hereditary (HBO Max) Grade A+
11th - The Fall of the House of Usher (1960) (Prime) Grade B
12th - Beneath (2007) (Paramount +) Grade C-
13th - House on Haunted Hill (1959) (TCM) Grade A-
14th - Deep Red (Pluto) Grade C+
15th - Bring Her Back (HBO Max) Grade A+
16th - Henry; Portrait of a Serial Killer (Prime) Grade B
17th - M3GAN 2.0 (Peacock) Grade C+.

19th - Phantoms (Paramount +) Grade D+
20th - Sinners (HBO Max) - Grade A+
21st - Slither (Peacock) Grade B+
22nd - Burnt Offerings (Prime) - Another wife pick, this one from the 1970s and it shows, in good ways and not-so-good. A family looking for a summer retreat finds an offer they can't refuse in leasing a huge and secluded, albeit somewhat aged, mansion... with a catch; they must also care for the owners' mother while they're there. Starring Karen Black and of all people Bette Davis, it's good at establishing the setting and an eerie mood, but this progresses a little too slowly for my taste. This is also the rare PG rated horror, though that doesn't really compromise the story being told. The ending sequence elevates this to borderline. Grade C+
Good point. I was lukewarm overall, but I did like the rewinds to tell the story before a character appeared. That's fair, I guess I enjoyed the execution more. I'm 4-4.5 or so on it.Ok. I am not sure I can make it either. I got a late start this year mostly because it was in the 80s here the first 10 days or so of October and it just didn't feel like spooky season.I've fallen behind pace, got 5 days to get in 9 movies. Let's go!1st - Night of the Reaper (AMC+) Grade B-
