I'm nothing more than an amateur baseball bettor, so please don't pay much mind to my ramblings, but it seems quite unlikely to me that the LAAngels, having just swept 2 straight series, are going to win their 7th game in a row...they are playing at home, but tonight they open a series vs the Cardinals and their excellent pitching. Angels are way overdue for a loss, and the Cardinals are in an uncharacteristic slump of their own having lost 6 of their last 8.

I say two trends are about to reverse themselves. Cardinals +115. Almost all of my baseball bets are $25, no point risking more than scratch on a game I'm don't bet regularly, but I feel good about this one, so going $50.

God, I can't wait for football season.

40-1 seems like terrible odds. Breaking it down simply, wouldn't that mean you can expect a no-hitter one out of every 40 nights, or roughly 4 times per season? No value there at all.

good point, but it does seem like an almost virtual lock. I just played Miami ov 8 wins -105. I forget their schedule, but playing the Jets, Bills, and now Pats twice it is reasonable to think they get 4 wins there, hopefully 5.

ETA: Ahh, just took a look. They play the AFC North and NFC South, So it will be tricky. they can beat SD and Cleveland, but a lot of tough games on the rest of their schedule. Glad i went light with the ov player:

I'm nothing more than an amateur baseball bettor, so please don't pay much mind to my ramblings, but it seems quite unlikely to me that the LAAngels, having just swept 2 straight series, are going to win their 7th game in a row...they are playing at home, but tonight they open a series vs the Cardinals and their excellent pitching. Angels are way overdue for a loss, and the Cardinals are in an uncharacteristic slump of their own having lost 6 of their last 8.

I say two trends are about to reverse themselves. Cardinals +115. Almost all of my baseball bets are $25, no point risking more than scratch on a game I'm don't bet regularly, but I feel good about this one, so going $50.

God, I can't wait for football season.

Usually I just use a card and then if it's declined I use another card and then if it's declined I use another one. Not unlike the grocery store.

One time when the books were really tight I wanted to get money into bookmaker since they over/under every single college hoops game and I thought I could beat it and so I had to Western Union money to a Manuel in Nicaragua and it was weird but luckily there is a western union at my work site so it was pretty easy. Got killed on those over/unders. No money in bookmaker any more.

Western Union was the one I always couldn't do. Sending a large sum of money to "Paco Pablo" (happens to also be my alias when appropriate), and just hoping you would see the money again was half the fun. I can't remember hearing a story of anybody getting burned through the process, but i have to think something occurred.

I remember a hurricane that wiped out TheGreek(now Heritage) for a couple of days while they had a few racks of my money. Was pretty worried but all was good and they got back. This was in the day when i called in my bets to them, as opposed to online. I actually sort of miss that part of betting, talking with a live person. Plus, they always had that accent and were mostly chicks. Western Union was the best way to get them money back then. Glad I don't have to go through that anymore.
