FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (12 Viewers)

Looking at another angle....this is South Carolina's year to potentially play for a NC. They've got UGA at UGA next week, but they've got an extra 2 days to rest for that. I know UNC has a good offense and all, but I'm pretty sure SC has to make a statement on national TV to open up the year.

i know you baseball guys like to fade a guy who goes a complete game his last outing. greinke got to the last batter before they pulled him because he gave up 2 runs. He had somewhere around 125 pitches. Not sure if i would fade the Dodgers, but the over may be a good shot if the other variables look to be supporting it

I think you are playing the same angle as I am, but with the other team. I think Georgia is the team to buy for the NC.

The pats line is ridiculous, bills were starting a rookie in this game when the line was 7. Starting a different rookie line goes to 10.5 :loco:

Bills +10.5

A week and a day til CFB. F yeah!! A couple of early leans. Utah -3 vs Utah st. Last yr Utah st won a close game at home that could have gone either way. Utah is probably gonna get the crapped kicked out of them in Pac 10 play again this yr. This is a game they will want payback for.....and...if they have a chance to be bowl eligible, they will need this victory. I like them in this spot. New Mexico -3 at home vs. UTSA. A battle of ex miami fla head coaches. I think theres a little more talent on the one side and they run a power option that just might completely manhandle UTSA.

Its a big number, but i think FSU kicks the crud out of pitt. Laying the 10.
For the college football talk. 3 MORE DAYS!!
3 units

UL Monroe

1 unit

Ole miss

LSU

.5 units

Fresno
I like these. EXCEPT I think Vandy is very good this year and will take them over Ole Miss.

I'm liking the under 72.5 in this game too

In his last home start, Barry Zito was forced back into the rotation in place of injured Chad Gaudin. Before that game Zito had been pitching so poorly he had demoted himself to the bullpen. The Red Sox then matched their largest interleague margin of victory ever against him. Now Zito has to go pitch at Coors Field, the number one hitters ballpark in the majors. Zito has a 9.45 ERA and 2.30 WHIP and opponents have batted .404/.457/.617 in his road starts.
grabbed rockies over 5 on 5dimes.. Thanks

FWIW, Stuckey is back from a month off and is on fire in bases since Saturday. I missed his Saturday and Sunday plays (15-2 or something like that) but tailed yesterday and went 4-1. He was 4-2 ( I missed his late play)

Can not wait for football to get started here. :banned:

I cannot believe we are starting Jeff Tuel. What an embarrassment.
I think that -7 line was low too. Came out early with all the doubt on the Pats without any WR's TE's etc.
Currently UNAVAILABLE at my book, but I'm starting to think this has 31-10 Pats all over it

Any good reasons not to take NW -5 @ Cal (other than the fact ill probably fall asleep before kickoff)
Northwestern homer here (alum) .... I like the Cats to win big, but I'm not betting it (I seem to only bet against my team).

Take this with a grain of salt, but everyone is raving about the team this year. They are bigger, stronger, more athletic than any NU team ever (confirmed by a few BTN reporters who watched practice). They return starters at all skill positions (2-headed QB, RB, WR's). They did graduate 3 OL, but they have depth and are gelling during fall practice (not a single SR on the OL). Their defense should be even better than last year, 3 of the 4 starters in the secondary are back and they have experience with the 4th. CAL will be starting the true freshman and passing alot (Bear Raid i think they call it under Dykes). The front 7 has experience and they just lost a few from last year.

I expect them to move the ball at will with Colter running the zone read and Simiean in for some passing to mix things up. The defense should be much improved as well. Of course, you never know when you travel on the road to another BCS school 2 time zones away. But they've scheduled practice for the evenings to prep for the 930pm CST start.

Cal also has a few guys banged up, and NU has ZERO injuries, everyone is 100% healthy on the 2 deep.

Just my 2 cents. Also - some guy from Yahoo Sports picked NU as the super sleeper to win the National Championship. Not a chance, the schedule is tough (Ohio State, at Wisconsin for the 2 crossover games). But watch out for them in 2014, they will have their whole OL back and 9 starters back on defense. They do lose their QB and RB, but Simiean is back (he is really a starter - plays half the game), and they have RB depth. I think they will return 17-18 starters in 2014.

My prediction is NU 35 Cal 17 ... I'm not betting it though. NU has won the last 3 road openers, all against BCS schools (Vandy, BC, Syracuse). They seemed to be prepared for that first game under Fitz.

Sorry to :nerd: it up, but just jumped on Tottenham +240. Arsenal's playing their best XI again this midweek in a CL playoff game, I don't see how they're not gassed this weekend.

Hold on there cowboy.... back the truck up.

Up until a week or so ago the Bills were starting a 6'4" 237lb man who lead his ACC team to a 12-2 record. He was a Highly thought of prospect and has big measurable at the combine. We aint talking about John Elway or Andrew Luck here, but he measures out as a valid prospect to QB to run a NFL team.

Last year at an absolutely awful pac-10 team Jeff Tuel couldn't keep a whatever sophomore that hasn't even won the Wazzu staring job this year of the field. He had a TD/Int ratio of 8-8 and played against Juggernauts like eastern Michigan.

Look the Bills could come out and beat the patriots outright this week. It is the NFL and anything can and will happen. But IMHO going from EJ to Tuel is a 7 point swing in my book, I like the Patriots.

It's up at my local, and it's sitting flat on 10.

Gimme 2U @ -10 -110 on Brady to win this "Tuel" with the rook in Week 1 of his first NFL game.

First undrafted rookie free agent QB to EVER start in week 1 of the NFL.

So you got that going for you..... which is nice.
And I'm telling you..... its not even as bad as that. It's much worse.

Landry Jones is the third string in Pitt. At least he played for a big school and hucked the rock around vs some big conference talent and had success.

I just dont see it. And more importantly then that Mike Leach didnt see it either last year.

FWIW, Tuel outplayed Manuel in the preseason. Maybe the talent around him at Wazzu was just THAT terrible.

I don't gamble but I am going to Vegas this weekend so I do now. I always lose at sports bets so fade these..

A&M - 26.5 vs Rice. A&M would win by 40 even without Manziel, but he is going to play. They might put up 70 in an "f the haters" type game.

Tx Tech -5.5 at SMU. Kingsbury was off coordinator for Manziel at A&M last year and will score points in bunches.

Also like Boise St +3 at Wash.

Oregon is -59 vs Nicholls St. :lmao:

Wazzu was a bad team. No doubt about that. Bit Halliday looked better and he ain't that good.

Carefull w/Texas tech. Rookie QB starting for them no matter who gets the job, and it could be the Fr walk on.

Isn't Rice the team that upset Houston last season as 30 pts dogs and someone put down 2k on their ML? It seems like I read how they were really solid as huge dogs, but I can't recall where.

With the horrific upgrade redesign of Yahoo sports, where is a good place to get game scores with a simple easy to read/use design. ESPN might be my best option...uggg.

good question. i hate supporting ESPN, but that is my go to all the time. really wish i had a better option....

This is freaking GOLD. Some clown beats his chest about how terrible Thompkins is. Will take any and all bets that at least 1 Jets receiver outscores him this season. Read the original post in the middle box and then read the replies outwards.

I got bored reading the "who posted" list you posted. Does he even have one post in here?

Unless that is Bill Gates or something, I can assure you we have some heavy hitters in here gambling more than him. Actually, now that I say it, I bet Gates plays the table minimum at some $5 craps table when he goes to vegas.

Not only that, but SMU brought in Hal Mumme to the offense which means they will score points regardless of anything else. I think Kingsbury is a good coach, but I'm not sure I want a freshman to pull out a 50-40 win in wk1. I'm probably just going over myself.

I'm hoping SMU can overcome the fact that CRAIG JAMES KILLED 5 HOOKERS WHILE AT SMU at home against Tech this Friday night and at least put a respectable game together.

With the O with you guys on this one.
