FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (7 Viewers)

The Nevada gaming control board released figures today for the Superbowl, showing a sportsbook win of $724,000 on $87.5 mil. in wagers, for a disappointing (for the books) hold percentage of 0.83%.

That's a pretty big fail for them. Chalk High hurt alot. I ended up actually getting down at 2.5 on game day at the Bellagio so maybe some steam came back on pitt late? Getting the game caught up in the teaser line probably hurt a bit too. I think actually having the game be at a bettable spread hurts because people don't play as many props. Big lines with big spreads tend to bring out guys hammering the props.

Didn't both sides of teasers hit too? That never helps.

Hockey tonight:

I looked last night and nothing jumped out at me at first glance which is rare.

I settled on Blackhawks/Oilers O 5.5 though

Chicago has not been good lately and they were shutdown in Calgary two nights ago. I think they have to start playing desperate though and there is nothing like playing the Oilers to get your offense back on track, so I like them to score four goals or so tonight.

The problem here is I intentionally avoid Edmonton totals because they are just as likely to give up six as they are to be shutout. But coming off one of their best games of the year in Nashville I see them having some confidence, and they have actually beat this B’Hawks twice already this year. If Edmonton scores twice this should easily go over. I say this one will be 4-2 or 4-3.

I like the Hawks tonight to win at -165. Edmonton hasn't had back to back victorys in 2 months and Chicago is 8 for the last 11 at Edmonton. Edmonton goalie Dubnyk is 1-5 at home. Last time Chicago outshot Edmonton 47-14.

I bet this earlier in the day also...Chicago has had success there and should be highly motivated.

I can't in good faith ever say that beting Over any game with the Oilers in it is a good idea, except when taking the other teams over shots. But then again. Nothing from my buddy yet. He will probaly love the Oilers over just to make me look like a ###.

One NHL for me tonight

Bruins-Canadians Under 5 +105- Price usually has great success against the Bruins yet Bruins are way overdue for a win in this series. Their last game was 2-0 Bruins with 3 minutes left before Montreal got hot and scored 2 in regulation and one in overtime. Expect another tight game with goals at a premium.

Love the Hawks tonight, I'll be loading up even with the chalk. A p'd off and motivated Hawks squad playing the Oilers coming off of a road trip, looks like a very good spot to me.

Hockey Prop time.... not much tonight...

Started as two stars, talked himself into 2.5 stars.

Mtl O 31.5 Shts -115 "Mtl is not a good matchup for the B's, too small and fast, 40+ shts in 3 meetings this year"

One unit

Ott U 27.5 -110

Van O 33.5 -125

Iginla O 4.5 P+S

8 goals on the board, a 6 on 6 fight including the goalies, and only 17 minutes into the game. I dont' know if the habs will cover the 31.5... but this is a hell of a game.

Edit: Its been 15 minutes and they still cant figure all then penalties nor can they close the penalty box door as both teams have 8 players in.

Alrighty... let's try UNC +9½ in the 2H. Carolina won't get any smaller during halftime. They are dominating in the paint.
Over 82? I didn't watch the first half, but I remember Duke being down big against St. John's and it was a crazy 2nd half. If Duke gets close, gotta be fouling at the end.

No play on the total for me. It's a fast pace but Duke is throwing up brick after brick from 3 and they have no low post game whatsoever.

Duke on a 8-0 run out of the gate in the 2H. If I had a gun I would end it all right now.

I take Duke in the 1H... they look like a Special Olympics team.

I take UNC in the 2H.... they look like HUCKS and four homeless guys.
