FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (6 Viewers)

is there a way to fund a SB account anonymously? Do you have to put your name on a wire transfer? do they actually check ID?
As long as the moneygram is under $1000 you can put whatever name you want on it. But you're going to be screwed if something goes wrong with it. Why are you concerned?

Ok, then yes, sending a moneygram would work under a different name as long as your deposits are <$1000. They probably will require a copy of a driver's license to cash out though so you eventually need some kind of patsy.I used to have a mail forwarding address from Europe, I didn't use it for gambling, but my mail used to go to a Swiss address and then was forwarded to me here once a week. I think it used to run about $40 a month but I have no idea what I used or it its still around.

Can you guys tell me why Sportsbook is a problem for some of you? I've used them for a couple of years and haven't had any issues, though I suck at gambling and haven't ever taken them for props...but it seems like you guys are reticent to use them and also fearful of using your real name.

LOVE them, but they clipped me on props and futures limits (making me love them much less).

email from BetJam "We are now Heritage Sports..VIP invitation only sports book...your account has been automatically transferred".wtf does that mean and what sort of loop hole are they trying to work?
betjam was the recreational arm of the greek. all greek and betjam accts have been moved to heritage. Heritage is a good book, they pay and are financially stable. It looks like they've almost turned into the greeks US operations, they're copying all the greek lines including props/futures/etc
So basically, the "limited number of invitations" means "We will take ALL of The Greek's customers." I got an "invite" also, but I've definitely lost more than I've won over the years. The fact that they "invited" you also tells me that Spiro simply sold his entire U.S. client list to the highest bidder.I *hate* the layout of Heritage's website. The Greek's web design was so user-friendly.

I've never even funded my greek account, yet I'm a VIP.

Thanks for the reply, GB. I've never done well on those, so I'm still okay there. Maybe this is the year? Are there any other concerns with funding with Sportsbook? I'm about to throw a little less than $1,000 in there, but am starting to worry about all these sites closing shop to US customers. Man, what happened to all the good bonus offers? You'd think these guys would line up for my donations.

Just wait a few days or a week. There will be a bonus.

I see that the criteria for becoming a VIP is pretty stringent.

Heritage took over all greek/betjam accts, whether you were positive or negative. It's now up to them to determine if they want your business but everyone has an acct. It's basically greek with a new website.

got the email from my Bet Jamaica account as well. Does Heritage still offer squares games for all major games? Used to love this when there was nothing else on TV ( or for pre-season games)

I use sportsbook and have made two withdrawals in the last few months without a problem.

I can't believe Bet Jam is gone and Greek is out of the US. have to think 5Dimes will be gone soon too. this sucks.
I guarantee there will be more books closing. I don't know how safe it is to have money offshore anymore.
It's never been safe. Any one of these shops can close and take all your money and there isn't a damn thing anyone in the US can do about it. It's always been that way.
The Greek used to be in Antigua. I remember a hurricane rolling through there and not being able to get a bet in for a few days. I remember being upset and freaking out a bit.......over not that much money(1k or less). I think it was more of the no action that had me uptight.

Cinn U 6.5

Minn O 6.5

SF U 8

SEA U 7

Cinn without Palmer

Minn gets McNabb

SF give Alex Smith another try

SEA sign Tavaris Jackson

There is my reasoning.

SF U8. The 49ers may have been hurt the most by the lockout, since they are trying to install new offense and defense with a new head coach in the offseason. I think they're going to lose some significant free agents as well.

Who emerges from the NFC west? I don't disagree with U8 but that division is so bad

that's a good question. i think possibly the Rams, but with Seattle's playoff win they could have some momentum going forward. I just think their QB's are so horrible they won't be able to keep up. I also think Kolb will do well in Arizona, but the Rams seem to be more complete (if their WR's can stay healthy)

also adding Patriots to win the Super Bowl +675. Price will only get worse, they should be able to handle the short off-season well, and i don't see too many chinks in their armor. The loss to the Jets in the playoffs has to sting a ton, I am sure they will not let that happen again

Lump, what do you make of your Bills this year? Is Fitzpatrick going to be a legit QB for the year? Is Steve Johnson a legit WR for you guys? Who else will catch passes there? I do like Fred Jackson, and if Spiller is healthy and more ready you guys could be pretty good. I know you had a few tough losses last year, so where will they land, and any value fantasy wise on the team?

I like the Rams. They have the best quarterback and I like what they're doing on defense.

1u Philadelphia -270 (This one's for you mo)
 gracias. the boys won't let you down, they'll be pissed after losing the Giants seriesAlso just unloaded quite a bit on the Eagles to win anything and their over bets. Grabbing Nnamdi today has that secondary looking absolutely filthy. When they can put Dom Rodgers-Cromartie as their nickle back, there won't be many teams passing against them

Figure i would post these because I could see these lines moving before Saturday:

Strikeforce (MMA)

Dan Henderson +185 over Fedor

Muhammed Lawal -115 over Roger Gracie

feel pretty good about these 2, and will also take Tim kennedy over Robbie Lawler

ETA: I feel like we should jump into some of these political threads about the debt and help those boys get out of it with some smart gambling. If only the US would allow the online gambling, we could have our government out of debt in probably about a year
:boxing: knocking these down like bowling pins these daysETA: King Mo fight is September, wasn't last night

Anyone using the Offshore Sites who you going with when the football season begins? I was a Bookmaker guy and I know they are still around (www.bmaker.ag) but the seize of the domain name does scare me off a bit. Tough time to be a US customer with The Greek and BetJam leaving the market as well.

Week 1 NFL lines out. my picks in bold.

New Orleans

@ Green Bay -4.5

Pittsburgh

@ Baltimore -2.5

Detroit

@ Tampa Bay -3

Atlanta -2.5

@ Chicago

Buffalo

@ Kansas City - 6.5

Indy

@ Houston -2.5

Philadelphia

@ St. Louis +4.5

Cincinnati

@ Cleveland - 4

Tennessee

@ Jacksonville -3

NYG

@ Washington +3

Carolina

@ Arizona -4.5

Seattle

@ San Fran. -5

Minnesota

@ San Diego -8.5

Dallas

@ NYJ -4

New England

@ Miami +4

Oakland

@ Denver Pick

My favorite games are New England -4 and NYG -3 over the skins especially if Beck starts. A lot can still happen from now to opening week but trying to decide if I should get my bets in early. I also like Minnesota to cover against San Diego being that they always start slow and 8.5 is a good amount of chalk.

Sportsbook being a little squirrely with a wire transfer withdraw again.

withdraw - July 10

"sent" via wire on July 24

Still no money in my account.

Apparently now "sent" means they've sent it to the processor. In the past, it remained "pending" and not "sent" until the money was in my account.

Indy is a dog in the teaser zone in Houston? I haven't looked at NFL in forever, did Peyton finally choke on his own #### and die?

I made a check request on 7/18 and another on 7/25The check from 7/25 showed up today via fedex, the check from 7/18 will be here tomorrow. Fingers crossed they both clear. Unless sportsbook.com re-enters the US market I'm hesitant to play there, especially NFL teasers where there's a chance for a huge score.

Manning's neck is hurt, and there are whispers that it may be worse than Indy is letting on.
If it's worse than Indy is letting on why did they just sign him to a career ending contract?Line seems about right to me
I should have clarified. Not "long-term concern" worse than they are letting on.But rather questions about how effective he'll be at the start of the season.

guess I need to just ditch the wires. where are you going to play your teasers? On a related note, do you still advocate waiting until Sunday morning to play said teasers? "true" line and all..

I wouldn't ditch the wires, still my preferred method but this is a friends acct that I manage so check is my only option. When the checks go wrong it's a huge hassle. I'd much rather do wires.I'll probably still play teasers at sportsbook but instead of all of them at sportsbook i'll be spreading them around to any +180 3 teamer shops that i can find. This way if I get lucky and sweep one weekend the hit isn't all at one book. BETUS has +180 but putting teasers into their website is a pain in the ###.

I'm going local for my teasers. Actually taking "investors" into a syndicate so I have to watch the lines a lot closer. Should be interesting. I doubt the wheels get off the ground by the preseason, but we'll see.

I'm pretty confident the colts would be fine with Curtis Painter. If manning is hurt he'll slide right in, almost no difference between him and peyton

I'm down on this year....looking over my records last year was so far above the previous years it was ridiculous. I had 4 reg season sweeps last year PLUS the gigantic preseason week 4 sweep. In the previous 4 years I didn't have a single sweep and I played LESS teams. In 2008 and 2009 seasons I was break even on teasers. Small sample size and all that but I just can't comprehend ever seeing another year like last year.
