FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (11 Viewers)

:lmao: @ Michigan

Switching to a West Coast Offense this year while having one of the quickest rushing QBs in the history of your program.

What a bunch of idiots.

NEW ENGLAND AT MIAMI

Late June: New England by 4, total of 46

Currently: New England by 7, total of 45.5

Sharps have learned in recent years that you have to respect the Pats when Tom Brady is healthy. Some new acquisitions may have made this team even better than they were late last year. Sharps got in before the public did. Now, if YOU want to bet New England, you have to lay a full TD. Sharps as always, got the better number earlier. If the public does well Sunday, they may come in hard on New England and take this line over the TD. Some sharps would then buy back Miami and shoot for a middle, hoping the game lands on the key number 7. Most like their early N.E. position.
I put down a nice hunk of change on the Pats and Falcons in the summer and actualy took some heat in here for the Patriots play. As much as I like the Patriots in this game I plan to buy back half of the wager if I see the hook and play for the middle.

Props I'm looking at (sportsbook)

Steven Jackson over 78.5 yard rushing

Marcedes Lewis Score a TD Yes + 130

Derrick Ward yards rushing first attempt over 3.5 -120

Steve Johnson over 4.5 recpt -130

Thanks for the sharps article. Looking at Jets and Skins since Cowboys secondary and Giants defense have injury situations. Might need to get the NYJ money in now before the line goes up.

With this Mich/ND game pending - currently tied for 8th place in the nation in ESPN Pigskin Pick Em.

I have Notre Dame :bag:

8th place, meet 12000 place :sadbanana:

Anybody that had USC minus the points got screwed - taking points off the board I do believe on the last play of the game. That TD would have resulted in a USC cover.

Bender=COPPER-PLATED AWESOMENESS

Light card today:

SMU/UTEP over 54.5

Michigan +3

Kansas +5

UGA/USC U52

May look for some copper tails also. glllllllll
Just a light :homer: play, Doc? Or some reasoning behind it? Because I like the Irish quite a bit.
Last year I mostly made money betting against Michigan. Rees will have to make plays and get the ball to Floyd but I think the Irish have to run the ball to win this game, and I'm not sure they'll have a whole lot of success. Denard was kind of held back last week and I think that was by design. Michigan has too much speed on offense to the outside and I think they'll use tht to their advantage. One score game, I like Michigan to squeak it out 28-26.
35-31 works. They let Denard loose in the second half, and they were the better team.

DD is spot on. Hold off on the West Coast offense #### til Denard has moved on please. You see the tale of two halfs here when Michigan did let go of the West Coast style. It's clear the way things should work going forward.

Let the big dog breath coach!

Jesus this opened at 108.5? If he has a big game good for him but first game, no training camp....seems like asking for 100 yards is a tall order.

what are you kids doing for survivor pick? Houston?
I have four spots in the $8K pool. I'm going New England, Arizona, San Diego and Cleveland.
I have 2 spots in one pool. One spot is following Johnny Detroits picks and another I'm making. A second pool I'm in I'm doing a little of both. Had Green Bay in second pool. Arizona is Johnnys play and I'm on New England in 1st pool.

The Pac-12 just overruled the officials and COUNTED the blocked FG final play TD....The OFFICIAL final score is 23-14.That should have been interesting for Vegas....

I'm reading that Vegas wouldn't cash tickets after the game because they knew there was an inquiry. The ruling came out that USC won 23-14 and Vegas then cashed tickets.Even more ridiculous is that the line opened USC -10.5 and moved all the way to USC -7.5, crossing right over the 9 that it landed on. I'd hate to be holding a USC -9.5 ticket with them not kicking the extra point.I'm still trying to find my USC -3 2h bet to see if it got fixed, can't remember where I placed the bet :bag:

I know we keep going over this, but is there any decent sports betting site where I can set up an account, deposit by credit card today, and and bet on today's games?

Bodog will no longer take any of my credit cards, and Western Union is a PIA. I used to have a Sportsbook.com account, but I'm guessing it's a similar problem there. Suggestions?

Is 5dimes any good?

I just deposited via CC to my sportsbook account last week

Yep. I've come full circle on this.Foster is out, no more Vonta Leech, can Tate and Ward really run all over the Colts? I don't know. Either way...Kerry Collins isn't THAT bad.

I don't know. I think I could rush for 150 yards at home behind that line. Lots of potential for the Colts to get absolutely smoked here. You could envision the Texans going up a TD or two and then, as a result of them just trying to pound out the clock, almost accidentally rushing for a few more. I like the OVER here too for that reason.

The more I think about it, the more I believe Arizona -7 is the biggest lock of the week. With Cam Newton starting his first NFL game, the Cards defense has to be good for two scores alone, plus numerous turnovers. How does Carolina keep this within 30?

You guys are doing it wrong. Arizona is an OK pick, but no way should you use San Diego or New England this early. Save your power teams as long as you can.

I tried with my credit card and failed, but then I got a Visa gift card by Gift2Go from Walgreens and waa laa. Of course, sportsbook offers a reload bonus the day after I reload.

Bender's Cadmium LOCKS....

Ok - just my picks in Derek's pool:

Bears +3 (I'll take the 3 - I switched this one back and forth a few times, and I think I'll regret it)

Cleveland -6.5 (dig this one)

Buffalo +6

St. Louis +5 (Seems like everyone is on the Rams now)

Tampa Bay -2 (feeling great about this one)

Jax -2 (switched this back and forth as well. I will regret this)

Baltimore -2.5 (Hammering Hank and everyone else I know is big on Pitt, I'll fade the public and be a contrarian)

Indy +8.5 (I waivered but Collins isn't THAT bad)

Carolina +7 (Cardinals need to show me something before I lay 7)

San Diego -8.5 (Like this one a lot)

Seattle +5.5 (Alex Smith at QB vs. Tavaris Jackson at QB? Gimme the points)

GMen -3 (regretfully)

Dallas +4.5 (they can hang with the Jets)

Bears ML +115, may rise - Atlanta is getting all the hype for adding Julio Jones, but in the meantime, did absolutely nothing to improve an absolutely terrible defense. There are concerns about the Bears O-line, but I don't think they manifest themselves vs the Falcons D. Falcons offense posted avg #'s last year, adding Julio Jones improves it, but not enough to outperform a solid Bears D, on the road, vs a good home team playing a season opener at home.

Rams +4. I'm too chicken to play the ML here, but I probably should. A year under Bradford's belt, and McDaniels running the O...everyone knows Eagles went big on D, not as many know the Rams did too, with less heralded, but still solid players. Rams are a solid defensive team at home, and Birds still have issues on O-Line. Eagles defensive weakness is LB, which is what the Rams scheme is designed to attack. Big surprise here today.

Texans -9. Texans losing AFoster is nowhere near as big a deal as Colts losing Manning. Texans running scheme is more about the scheme than the player, Colts run D is swiss cheese, and Tate and Ward will do just fine. There's a lot going on here. The Texans have lost plenty to the Colts over the years, and they a team on the rise. This is a divisional game, with plenty of history behind it - there is no way the Texans don't smell blood in the water, and press their advantage all day long. This is a perfect game to make a statement, and I'm pretty sure Kubiak has his team primed to bully the Colts and keep bombing away to run up the score if the opportunity presents itself. Houston D is sneaky good, and KCollins has a rookie protecting his blindside.

Lions/Bucs OVER 41.5 - Don't see how both teams don't go over 20 points.

Redskins ML +120. Giants are a mess, and this version of the Shanahan Redskins have a better Defense, a better running game, and with the distractions of McNabb and Haynesworth being removed, they are a motivated motherF'er, Shanahan has them amped up and focused, and believing in themselves. The 'skins QB's are game managers, and being able to run the ball extremely well vs the porous and hurting Giants D, they don't need to try and win the game themselves.

Redskins Team Total 19.5. Don't see how the 'skins aren't going to put up 20 points today.

Like the Jets tonight, and thinking Broncos Monday. Still working things out.

Good Luck, and Happy New Year!
