FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (5 Viewers)

Only thing I got today is the Clips. Portland's 3rd in a row, and yes I remember (and like) the contrarian side of that which was previously mentioned in here. But it's also their 5th in 7 days, including 3 on the road, so that's gotta be rough...and the Clips are pretty physical. Clips back-to-back is nothing, playing Wash last night and it's a short trip anyway.

I really like where this team keeps going. They are not at all content just finally being out of the cellar and respected (last year). These guys believe and play with a chip on their shoulder. CP is ####### perfect for them; he IS them. And the veterans are totally onboard with mentoring the young guys. There was some hustle in the game last night that you would see from college kids, not NBA guys. From all accounts they love hanging out together and are avoiding clubs and #### (for the most part). Kind of refreshing. I'm saying all this not because of tonight's bet, but more as stuff you want to know betting for or against them. I know most of you know it already, but maybe some don't realize the degree to which they are committed. It's there. In fact, the more I type the more angry I become at the Lakers not getting Chris Paul. The guy's unbelievable; I didn't realize just how good he is. Watching him get pissed off at Blake, take him aside, with the game well in hand no less, is impressive. I didn't know about that part of him. And Blake digs it. What an incredible chain of events for them to get the *******. :wall: The irony is off the charts.

That's all I got these days... I'm only following Mountain West hoops, the Lakers (long-time fan, even though I fade them a lot), and the Clippers of course. No hockey, except checking the Kings a little. Paying some attention to golf now, in anticipating of the Masters.

Beer 5 already, as you can see. :banned:

Under 5 (-140) in the Yotes/Kings game. You almost never see that. The over is generally always shaded when the total is 5.

They are begging for over action.

With you, Brong. Last leg of my teaser for tonight. Got them at +3.5, can't see the Blazers beating them by 4. :banned: Rounding 6th now. Work from home Friday :pickle:

For the record I put in a withdrawal the day after The super bowl and it just got processed today.
I know it's probably old hat with most if not all of you guys, but I put in a post-SB claim with 5D and they cleared the P2P payout in 24 hours, for free (1x month). If you are good on settling up once a month, it's free. And I'd trust them more than a local from my experience with 5D, and what else I've heard from others in terms of there track record. Plus, no risk of disappearing off into the night with winnings. Will never play another online book again, no reason to.

Serious question for the hockey bettors and I know I never see it in this thread but want to ask. Not everyone posts all bets.

Do you guys ever bet a draw??? There is decent value per wager...how many reg ties do we see?

i wouldn't say i am necessarily a hockey gambler, but i dabble. never bet ties, but seeing the 3 of them tonight it certainly is tempting. wouldn't be surprised if the Kings and Coyotes go into OT too, so maybe trying it with the low scoring games is something to try

Ive been playing a bit with basically blind live betting nba games anywhere from the start of 2nd quarter to end of 3rd quarter, that stray far from opening line. Anticipating they will get closer to original line by games end.

Hit Indiana and Chicago tonight, Denver and Sacramento last night. Missed on Philly last night.

On the clippers now at +7.5, with them being down by 13. see how it plays out.

Has anyone tracked anything like this? Stupid plays?

Well, looks like that Kings under was indeed the play. I cannot and will not, on principle, lay -150 on an under 5.

Every time I bet u5, it's typically 2-2 after 1. The thought of paying heavy juice for that feeling didn't appeal to me.

I usually won't lay that either...been watching that line all day and had initial thoughts of it. I generally hate betting unders in any sport but with hockey the first half of season favored them...second half, and this is a guess has favored overs. When I see Kings or Blues I'm checking unders...lol

Who do we like in the Northern Trust open? Phil leading the field by a stroke after first round. Do we just bite the bullet and take him now at +250 (think he was 4/1 or 5/1 before 1st round)? Just seems like he is on a roll continuing from last weekend, not sure I want to bet against him.

I faded him before the tourney on finishing position. Fading previous weeks winner has usually been money. It works better after the majors. I'm going to see where the dust settles after this round before i put any more money to work. Played a couple of matchups for today but nothing i feel strong about. 2 players i bet on to win (furyk and watney) were having great rounds(both got it to 2 under) before they collapsed on the late holes.

I got on Brown when it opened . It's +20 right now so to tail would be giving up 1.5 pts.

Harvard plays Yale tomorrow. Harvard is 7-1 in ivy and Yale 6-2. They don't have a conference tourney in the ivy so I think Harvard is looking ahead and even if they aren't, they will rest their starter up big.

I wonder if just taking Harvard for the 1H is the play here (-11.5) figuring Harvard will get their guys rest as they can in the 2nd H.

I thought about that but according to historical lines big dogs in Ivy league games cover well. Both teams play a slow pace so -11.5 is a big number for teams with few 1st half possessions even if Brown is not good and Harvard is.If Harvard is daydreaming about Yale, they will start off slow which also makes covering 1st half tough. I liked the full game points as it covers either a slow start by Harvard or allows for a back door cover when brown goes down 35.

I can't imagine teasing NBA (or CBB) can be profitable over the long haul (anyone have #s on this?), but this one for tonight looks kind of neat:

Heat (Miami) -3

Knicks (NewYork) -2.5

Lakers (LA) -1

Juice is -120

For reference, the ML parlay would be around -140.

I don't have numbers on this either and I'm with you. But, basketball teasers are a lot of fun, and that's why I wager. I try to get favorites I like to win SU down as close to PK as I can and go from there. Nothing feels better than a profitable night when the last leg of your teaser covers your tease but not the offered spread, since it seems like it happens all the time in BBall.

Good call, game tracker looks broken for brown. At least their starters will rest :crosses fingers:
