Not that anyone cares, but this is about a 3 minute drive from my house.

Rampage Jackson comes in 6 pounds overweight, bumping that up to a definite play:Mixed Martial Arts play:Ryan Bader +200 (there are better lins out there if you shop around as well)ETA: Jesus H, that didn't take long. Line is moving fast, if you can get Bader winning the distance or something for some better odds, that is a good way to go

Easy winSometimes these lines are ridiculous. Been in business fading Donald Young this year. most overhyped player in the US. He gets great odds and keeps getting thumped.6-1, 6-1If you see Young at -EV any any point going forward, feel free to fade him with confidence as a general rule of thumb for 2012

Sucks, Bender, when I went to play that it wasn't on the board yet. And after all the whiskey last night, I forgot to check again before bed/passout.

Just posed this in the Braun thread but I'll ask here as well. What do you guys think Ryan the Martyr does this year? Is he a fade? Will this be the beginning of the "Gagne" slide for him?

Put it this way, I have a choice between him as a keeper for 10 dollars and Miggy as a keeper for 11 and I'm going with Miggy.I just don't want to be around when the slide happens and the protection of Fielder is gone. I'm not saying he can't be his old self, but I just don't want to get caught holding the bag here. Rickie Weeks is still having ankle issues, I'm pretty lost as to just who will protect him and who he can drive in

Have to play something, so a couple of 1u'er's for S&G...

Notre Dame @ Georgetown (-6): This line should be closer, shouldn't it? Two Big East heavyweights squaring off, but with surprisingly little at stake, as a loss here doesn't effect either one all that much in either Conference Tournament seeding, the Polls, or the Tournament, unless it's some kind of crazy blowout, which is doubtful. What's certain is that it's Georgetown's Senior Night, which I think will give them the impetus to win by a small handful.

Radford @ VMI (-8): Big South Tournament 10 Seed @ 7 Seed, big difference in these two: Radford is only in because Presbyterian isn't tournament eligible. Radford went 2-16 IN CONFERENCE, 6-25 overall. Although VMI is only 8-10, 14-15, this game should be a tune up for the upcoming matchup vs #2 Coastal Carolina.

I don't have a play on either side but VMI only beat them by 4 and 5 in the regular season. These are really 2 very bad teams. GL with your pick.

VMI has played Radford twice but Gabriel (18 points per) got injured in the 2nd meeting and only had 9 points, 28 the previous time they met).

Ok thanks. I was looking for an angle - couldn't find one. The 2nd half scoring did drop from 88 to 65 so if he was out that could be a key explanation. Might look at 2nd half over value as VMI has the 2nd fastest pace in CBB

What does this mean (although I have a suspicion it's funny)? And nittanylion, I also don't know what yours means, for that matter. You start off saying it should be close. You go on to say a blowout is doubtful. Both of which would indicate taking Dame and the points. Then you bring up senior night as your tipping point to win by a "small handful". A handfull is how many, exactly? Whatever it is, a small handful would seem NOT to be over 6 points. Thus, it's hard to figure not just who you bet, but why. The first part of the your post indicates G-Town I believe, which also runs contrary to what you kept saying. :loco:

I think he is on Georgetown and VMI. If he was on Notre Dame he would have listed it as Notre Dame (+6) @ Georgetown. It does sound confusing but maybe he is being contrarian, i.e. somebody likes Georgetown to cover/wants public on Notre Dame.

Am I right in seeing some teams kind of pack it in of late, in anticipation of the tourney (or tourneys)? Like New Mexico for instance, who could not have been playing any better, blowing out teams by an average of over 17 points just weeks ago. But who this last week dropped games to Colorado State and TCU, as a big road favorite in each. No way were they giving it their all.

Is Notre Dame sleep-walking tonight as well (I've only watched since half)?

Could Kansas lay an egg tonight? Especially after that Mizzou tilt? I have no idea how bad Oklahoma State is, btw.

Taking OSU +9.5 (-115)

No real match-up reasoning, and I hate betting against Kansas. Kansas coming off a huge win, with tons of media attention coverage. OSU's best player, who is also an Oklahoma local kid, should be ready for them on his Senior Night.

Have this at -110 also. Also have the Oilers +135 for no particular reason at all, just a gut feeling. gllllllll
Actually got the Oilers +140. :banned: In the same vein tomorrow the Islanders are +145 and IMO it should be closer to +125. Not only have the Caps not shown me a lot, but the Islanders smoked them in DC last time they came through. Strictly a value play, obviously +145 teams aren't the best bets. Wings/Jackets U 5.5 -117 also one of my overnight plays. glllllllll

I'm on this parlay:LA Kings/Predators Under 5 (-135)Blues/Flames Under 5 (-130)
:excited: was hoping for a push after 3 goals in the 1st period of the Blues game. held on to win anyway. should have tailed you guys on the Rangers under instead.

Wow, thought that hockey under parlay was toast, with the Blues/Flames putting up 3 in the first. But no, only one goal the remaining 40 minutes. Nice! Thanks Ref! :hifive:
Be carefull monkey - 95% of the time I'm talking about number of shots a team puts on net not number of goals on a game. They sound Simular and some in here think they are related, but often times they are not. Happy you won though!

Headed down to the Honda Classic tomorrow. Who we got?
:JEALOUS:Obviously Tiger will be one of the favorites. Haven't seen the odds yet, but will gove my $.02 when they come out.FWIW, I was on fire betting the matchups in the WGC Match Play. Will start posting more in this thread.

pretty sure you will be in The REFs neighborhood, or at least not far from it. I did ok with matchups last week but in the end, i lost a few bucks by doubling and then tripling down on Westy. I was sure he was going to win with the way he was striping those iron shots into the greens. 3 up on rory and then he just fell apart. you could tell that match took its effect on Rory too, as he was drained completely for his match with Mahan. Anyway, I looked at odds yesterday briefly but will do some homework on past results today and see if i can come up with anything.

I made hay on Sang Moon Bae. Had him in the first and second round. My overall bet was Kuchar. Took Mark Wilson in the second round too. Just had a feeling Mahan would win, and thought that +155 was crazy. But after seeing Rory missing some short putts, I felt comfortable letting some winnings ride.
