To each his own I guess.I know back in the good ole days, on the boards we avoided $ amounts and used units...but looking back on it I think $ values are a must for interactive gambling discussions. Maybe just more evidence that the world has passed me by.That's more than my standard unit.

i agree, i am more of a fan of units the $ amounts. I think it can come off pretentious when you start talking about laying a nickel or dime here or there. I used to bet $100 - $200 a game in college....Now a big bet is $100.
I just bet enough to "get my rocks off" watching a game....as soon as that doesnt happen, I either need to raise my betting amounts or quit gambling. I really only gamble for the "high"

Well in fairness, Raider is right. A lot of the bets I make are lines you may not be able to get. And it's really not fair for me to post them. For instance, not many people are betting Carmona un 4' ks -115, buehrle un 3' +110 and Lilly ov 5' -115. Add in the fact I tried middling everyone of them. On a normal football Saturday or Sunday when I am home and have nothing to do, I may have close to 100 bets. I don't have the time to post them all and even if I did you wouldn't be able to get down on some of them. And I wouldn't want you to because I don't want to lose the edge I have with the books (getting booted for betting props). I can't beat Pinnacle or any sharp book betting just sides and totals. If I was forced to I would not be gambling. I bet on things I am good at and have an edge on.

I should add I didn't make anywhere near 6 figures last year betting. I did make a very good amount, an amount I surely will not touch this year especially after Sportsbook took almost 5k from me.
If you gave me, GR, and Lumpy access to 10 books and didn't put any limits on anything, we would make well over 6 figures. I know I could make 6 figures not trying with no limits and I bet the other guys would make more.

Its not that hard to make 6 figures with limits. Use the props for your bankroll and then come play with the big boys on sides and totals.

There's the MP we have been waiting for. i too enjoy the bravado and coming into the thread like Peyton Hillis in a china shop, bustin' out 12 different plays that are all over the place. It brings an element into the thread that is needed and I do not see anywhere else. of course I also enjoy the random visits by MP's arch nemesis, Merton Hanks, where the 2 exchange gambling tips with eachother.Glad this thread is ready to pick up steam again

I feel like everyone and their mama is on the Pats this week. Line is up to -3 on my book.
Divisional home dog? thinking about fading the public hard and grabbing the Jets for a few units. Moss should be locked up by Revis. I really don't see the Pats having the same kind of offensive success they enjoyed in week 1, making them look REALLY good and inflating this line a bit.
I know the Jets offense looked anemic but I'm still not a believer in the Patriots D. The Jets can hang 3 TDs and a field goal on them in my opinion and I like something like Jets 27 - Pats 24

I hope they put revis on moss, take him out of the game...fine. Who covers welker? Revis should cover welker, he's the bigger problem.My play on NE is much less about the NE offense vs the Jets D, it's almost completely about how awful the jets offense is. Mark Sanchez is awful, I'm sure they won't be as bad as they were on Monday night and I'm sure NE won't be as good as they looked on Sunday. I still think NE wins this game, i don't care if it's on the road. The Jets have what 1 game under their belt in this stadium? Players travel on private jets and stay in luxury hotels......HFA isn't what it used to be, especially in the NFL when they play one game a week. In the NBA when they're playing 4 games in 5 nights all in different cities it makes a much bigger difference.

My buddy Dan graduated from Auburn a few years back. He worked on the Tigers radio network. He wakes up thinking about college football, goes to bed thinking about college football, and studies college football in between. He is usually an ATM when it comes to betting CFB, and he's been on fire this year again. I wanted to make sure he still had the Midas touch before posting his leans. He seems to lock in on the most obscure games, but it works for him. The first two weeks, he went 5-1 and 6-2. That dog will hunt.

Drank half a bottle of crown, and a few beers while pokering it up last night.....and I guess I stepped over that edge where the events from last night are kind of hazy.I recall 6-tabling cash games to try to hit the PS special hand,while 2 tabling sng's. Last I recall, I was up a few hundred bucks....but, I really suck at cash games, so it's very conceivable that I lost everything and more back. Also, had a weird dream that Gambino posted in this thread last night.Kinda weird night all in all. Glad to see the game stayed under Two games tonight, anyone have any thoughts?

Cal/Nevada game reminds me very much of last year when Missouri (with their high powered/superior offense), went to Reno and were "only" a 7 point favorite. Same deal, where Cal is a slight favorite, yet seems to have the much superior team. I kinda remember getting lucky with the Missouri win last year....late int or something? I dunno. But how does a Cal team that put up a 52-7 win vs Colorado last week only give a fg to Nevada?

I'm on Cal too from last week. Nevada can score and is probably the 2nd best team in their conference (boise). They play well @ home but I don't think they have the guns to hang with Cal for 4 quarters. Cal and over.I like the Texas pick too that Detroits friend recommended. Well my 100-1 shot at the Vuelta crapped the bed and is done, but Nibali will pay me off good enough. Got nearly a full 4 minutes on anyone of consequence now with just a few big stages to go. Got lucky when Saxo kicked out two of their main riders for staying out late drinking (really).

I have to give a lot of credit to sportsbook and their customer service. After a lot of phone calls talking to one of their customer service reps about what was going on with my account they finally agreed it was fraudulent activity and credited my account back with the money they was lost.

you may be on to something here, but in watching the game, the kid looked like he had strict "check it down you dumb *******" marching orders. Seemed more like poor coaching and a kid who is simply scared ####less about screwing up.

He's just never impressed me. He made me pay last year during their playoff run. Shonn Greene is no Thomas Jones, LT2 is great for the little dump off passes but I don't think he can run the ball anymore.NE struggled last year @NYJ but spanked them at home and Brady was 28/41 for 310 yards against that scary NYJ def. With a year of game film on the Jets if any team in the league is going to dissect that D I'd expect it to be the Pats. It took Manning a 1/2 in last years AFC playoff game and then he destroyed them. Rex Ryan has admitted they didn't have an answer for PManning. Brady(even with his new haircut) is as good as PManning at breaking down what a defense gives him IMO.
