FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (3 Viewers)

Love reading stuff like this

David Payne Purdum ‏@DavidPurdumThe MGM sports book has taken 2 "six-figure" bets on the BCS title game so far -- both on #Alabama. #RTR
I'm on bama -9.5 tonightHearing a lot of buzz that ND might try and run uptempo like TAM did to beat bama. Props have opened everywhere and unders getting smashed all over the place, might be some nice opportunitees to bet overs

Here's what I took at SB

Alabama -300

Cincinnati-200

Sacramento St -340

Pays about 1.6 to 1

No clue about the hoops games but both are at home.

Holding 4 unit bet on Alabama -8.5 that I placed a month ago.

Just placed 7pt teaser on Alabama -2.5/Under 47.5 for 2 units.

Chalk Monday Parlays with Alabama. Whatcha got?
Not much college bball today and I think we've sworn off the NBA in these.
Alabama -320UIC -155Georgia St -220Cincinnati -200This pays 3.7 to 12 of those CBB teams are on the road though. Maybe just fade Notre Dame twice?Alabama and Cincinnati pays basically even money.
I'd be careful with UIC. They haven't won at Cleveland St. in a LONG time.

I love having Monday and Tuesday off! There's no better cure for a booze-laden/Irish drinking song filled night like more booze! I'm enjoying a Vodka/club soda/Diet Hansen's Tangerine/Lime (You people really need to try this - awesome) and wondering what side to play in the game tonight. 5D is at +10. I'm also going to play Northfield Harness tonight. I have a guy. I'd be happy to share his musings.

Going to beat the crap out of the Notre Dame/Cincy under (135). The Irish took Kentucky down totaling 114. Cincy beat Pitt with 131. Do both teams have the potential to score 70? Yes. Against each other? I'm expecting a dual-ranked Big East slobberknocker.

CROSSPOSTING:

I'm sure most of you are famliar with how Squares pools work. Here is a board I made for tonight's game in case anyone is hosting/attending a watch party.

I intentionally left denominations off for flexibility (and legal reasons if you're doing it in a bar).

It is designed to print perfection on an 11x17 sheet but can be shrunk down for whatever size you want.

Enjoy.

Drink sounds almost too good, I'd get smashed on those if they taste that good.Always like the 1-3-5 tri box at bullring harness tracks.

So now that hockey is back and the season will start soon............will the overs be the play? Would the NHL be similar to the NFL in that due to the lockout/delays, the offenses will be ahead of the defenses? Just trying to get an early edge when the puck drops.

I am wondering if the over will be the play with the Blackhawks early on. They were bashed for having very little turnover after 2 consecutive 1st round exits, but maybe it will work for the betting since they will have the chemistry already. And who knows what went through Crawford's mind these last several months after those playoff "softies" let in.

What say you, hockey gurus???????

Tailing the under on the BCS game at 40 1/2. I hate scoring today. Offense is stupid and offensive and unAmerican and punches kittens in the face.

CNBC just ran a report on the game tonight as it pertains to vegas. The "Big money" is on Bama, public money is on ND with more ND money in the pool then Bama. Vegas will break even with ND cover and will rake if Bama covers.

Time to finish off this strong bowl season:2u ND +10 -115
Leaning this direction as well. Also considering the Under.
Just booked ND +11.5 -150. I considered a teaser, but I just cannot get a feel for which side to play on O/U, so staying away. I think this ND team is better than people think, and keeps this close. I'll pay extra to keep my action on one outcome vs 2 on a teaser. I simply don't see this Bama team wining by 2 TD's. I'm playing with house money from NFL, so not the end of the world if this goes up in flames, so I'm in. :football:

Kurt has turned on props for tonights CFB game at RB. I'd like to formally request that all the GR customers not slam him with GR plays tonight. I'm a GR customer and I'll be doing my best to make those plays elsewhere. I'm guessing if it goes ok tonight maybe we'll get super bowl props.

Kurt has also turned on Golf/Tennis so we can bet on those, some nice futures in golf

Ernie Els -1600 no major :excited: :excited: :excited: :excited:

Over 40/40.5 getting hit, line locking in at 41. I'm fascinated by who bet what where to get the entire market to move a 1/2 point on a gameday total

I already got a big bottle of Sobieski, I'll pick up the rest on the way home. :banned:

Notre Dame +9.5
Trying to decide to tease this up or not, but I don't have any sort of lean on the O/U. Thinking maybe a buy up to +10.5. Would love Bama to get pushed up so I could possibly get it to 11.I will be on ND somehow tonight, that's a ton of points to give to a #1 on a neutral field.
Always seems to be a line swing within 24 hours of the national title game. I think the OU Florida game a few year ago had a swing of 2 points the day of the game. It was at Florida -3 for the longest and then I look up a few hours before kick and its Florida -6.

Cincy has lost 2 straight at home (road win in between)
At Pitt. An underperforming Pitt team that just lost to Rutgers on the road.
Not making excuses, but both those 1 pt losses came with everyone on break and up against Bengals playoffs and UC bowl game. Pretty much completely dead. Tonight's atmosphere will be a completely different story. Who knows if that will translate to a win, but the home court advantage will be back.

I've got a lotta units of teasers backin up to ND +17.

Still job hunting but about to head to a 2nd interview with my favorite option thus far (small but fast growing medical device company looking to establish a sales/marketing department). Word from the inside is they are running numbers to see what they can afford to offer me. Fingers crossed.

IF I get a solid offer (no sure thing)..... That coupled with the game tonight and a lack of work tomorrow might equal beercoma for ol icon tonight. :banned:

Fingers crossed...

Good job on everyone getting their packages out. When the boys are in a good mood it is much easier to ask for favors. Ease off on the GooRoo action and the Super Bowl will be a snap.

Call ahead on the Hansen's. Trader Joe's, Sprouts and Safeway are the only places here that have it (that I know of.) And sometimes they're out.

Not looking forward to this NCG. I hate Notre Dame and have heavily teased the under, just not something I'll be getting home early to set up for.

Now hockey returning...well...that's a different story.

How would a man, if he was so inclined, recieve the GR props?

One other note, this game is similar to the superbowl, the favorite ML is low, the spread tells us we should have a ML in the -400 range, -9.5 is -375 and -10 is -425(rough numbers)

-330 at pinnacle currently avaialable and -335 at betonline

Something to keep an eye on

4-0 this week in the playoffs. I usually wait until the weekend to finalize my picks, but have jumped on Denver -9, as I have a very strong lean in this one and don't want the line to get bigger.Denver's strengths - speed pass rush, good pass protection, and ability to exploit the middle of the field with the passing game, match up so perfectly with Baltimore's weaknesses. The Ravens' rush won't be able to get home vs. Manning - who owns them - giving him time to pick the slow-footed interior pass D apart. Ray is a liability in pass coverage, but won't come off the field - if Luck was exploiting him, think what Manning will do.
Denver is going to roll. Im going heavy on this one

LOVE teasing down DEN and NEP here... Agreed on Denver rolling.. Also feel Houston are pretenders who've been exposed the last few weeks, and NE is getting gronk back healthy in foxboro. Both teams should roll. Likely going to parlay them as well.
