Sportsbook has the early SM line at -4 AFC. Whats the line on a NE vs Atl/GB game?
I would guess enough more that AFC-4 might be a decent bet.
This was at AFC -1.5 in the early part of the season, then moved to -3 for ~2nd half of the season. I think at -4 it's a bad bet. It's only -4 if NE and maybe pit get to the SB.
You may be right. But if NE gets there it will be more for sure.
Lets put this another way - If you wanted to get in early on a Pats SB woul you rather pay -110 and lay 4 points and get the benny of a backup plan or would you rather get paid +140 and have to lay zero points.

He's just saying they are favs to get there and if they do it doesn't matter who they play they are laying more then 4. I think the AFC will be laying AT LEAST 3 no matter who makes it.

I don't think the Ravens or Jets would be favored over the Falcons or Packers.
Why?The Jets laid 6.5 to GB at home a few months ago and they got 1.5 at Chicago just a few weeks ago. This tells me on a neutral field Jets would be favored. Yes, they lost both gms. But, Jets would be going through Indy, NE (SB favs), and then through Balt/Pitt on their way to the SB. Tougher road. Balt went to Atl and got just 1 pt. They did host Balt and laid just 1 though. I would venture to say if Balt wins this weekend then hosts Jets they may not be favored. But if they go to NE and win they will.

I would quit gambling forever if the Jets are not Super Bowl favs if they get there. Go into Indy, NE, then Pitt/Balt. Murderers row right there. Would remind me of Pittsburgh and Seattle super bowl from 2005. Pitt a 6 seed goes on the road and beats everyone - plays Seattle the nfc number 1 seed and Pitt lays 4 pts.

NFC's best team right now is GB - or that's what the oddsmakers think with Atlanta only laying 2 to GB.
:fingerscrossed:
He didn't say he would quit posting.

I think you answered your own question. :goodposting: What was the spread the last time the Jets played in Foxboro? 3? They lost that game too, now they're +9. Also, GB winning @PHI, @ATL, @CHI would be nothing to sneeze at.

Spread was 4. Pats now are clear SB favorites after the run they have been on. Plus Pats have a week off and some rest. Line is now 8 to 8.5. We give the Pats 1 point for the week off that gets it to 5. We then give them 2 pts (imo) for recent form (crushing everyone). This line should be 7 I think. But, it's a point to point and a half too high. Jets were bigger dogs before the playoffs. We still have to keep in mind the AFC is -4 which is a very high number and tells us AFC is clearly better then the NFC.

60% chance Pats reach SB and lay probably 7.

40% chance someone else goes. I know there's lots of possibilities but if the Pats are a 60% chance of laying a TD, I don't think the 40% chance moves this line 4-6 points.

:lmao: The line should be 7, even though it opened at 9, and hasn't budged at some books. OK.

Your other made up percentages don't help your argument, either. Look, I think that if the Pats are the AFC representative in the SB, getting -4 now would be a good bet. If not, you'd be hoping for Seattle or possibly Chicago to come out of the NFC, or else you'll have yourself a bad line. Just one man's opinion.

I said the line should be 7 I think. That's my opinion. No made up percentages come on, Pats -145 at 5 dimes, -130 at Matchbook.

For those of you who remember from the weekend. My Hockey Prop buddy has two plays he likes tonight. He said if the Habs Over on shots was a 4 unit game, he likes these for 2 units.

M St Louis O 4.5 Points+Shots +110

Avalanche U 28.5 Shots -115

Any thoughts on 2H of this PItt/Georgetown game? Pitt is rolling here.... action play purely.

Edit: ####it... 0.5u on Pitt+4

Would love to watch some hoops tonight but there's ####### snow covering the sat. dish on my room.
Get up there and clean it off!
####### 2 feet of snow brother. I tried using a golf ball extendable retriever - no dice. Gonna have to get the ladder out tomorrow morning.
2 feet? Stay inside, wrap yourself in a nice pink slanket and drink some hot cocoa, okay Princess? :hot:
I could give a #### about the snow - just not interested in breaking my neck trying to climb a ladder right now. Going to listen to some Stevie Wonder on grooveshark instead. :slapithigh: ?

:thumbup:I had a dish for a while and ran into this problem often (live in Manitoba). Took a broom and extended the handle to about 20 feet long so I could just step out my door and clean it off.

We just got 6" of snow down here in Memphis. Pretty much the more snow then we've gotten in the previous 3 years combined.

My DirecTV is fine :goodposting:

i don't care if he posts elsewhere - I rarely venture elsewhere and when I see a thread of his, I just tend to ignore it.

Hope nobody tailed St Louis... he was shutout....

With college FB over and with a few more weeks to the NFL season, tell me how it is you guys can bet on basketball? I don't mean that to be sarcasm, I just don't trust it. I don't watch any NBA except for the Celts and I do not watch any NCAA, but looking for a reason to get into it.

Bet on it and don't watch it if you want to stay sane.

Don't bother, unless you have the time and really know what you're doing. I don't. At least not until we approach tourney time. Entertainment games sure, but the rest of it, nah. I love the break actually, haha...

IMO there is no tougher sport than the NBA.Work on CBB, it can be beat, look at smaller conferences and non-tv games
