FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (10 Viewers)

I like the Blazers tonight -1.5 against Detroit.
I have 1u on under 184 fwiw. Public really likes Portland.
Portland is in a good groove right now. Course, that'll happen when you play the Toronto/Detroit/Minnesota's of the world. No Brandon Roy, no Greg Oden, no Marcus Camby, razon thin bench....and yet they have the exact same record this year as they did a year ago at this time. Nate McMillen is one hell of a basketball coach.

I'm looking to play Tennessee Tech -4 tonight, vs Tennessee St.

Tenn St. stinks on the road, 3-12, and has only won one road game in Conference play...it's also Tenn St.'s 3rd straight road game. They beat Tenn Tech earlier this Season in a home game by 6, but have gone 1-5 since, while Tenn Tech has gone 5-2 since that road loss.

I have no scoop on this whatsoever, but from taking a quick look at both Teams, it looks like Tenn Tech can cover 4 points at home. Anyone else with anything on this one?

FTR, I got in bed with Tenn Tech -4, small, and the Kansas ML as well, but waited too long on it, and had to settle for -300 (line was at 6.5 by then)...

Yep, nice call by you

lot of good picks i think in here tonight, thanks everyone.

one for tomorrow:

Flyers -110

The Lightening have absolutely owned the Flyers all season. My thought is the Flyers go balls out for this game to at least get one win against TB this regular season. Coming off a loss to the Kings, i think they come out looking strong. No numbers based on this one, just a feel so take it for what it is worth

Thanks for this lump. Sorry about all the names I was calling you in the first half. :goodposting:BTW, now is a good time to get rid of that ugly ******* in your avatar. He could die tonight and he is still a LOCK for ROY.TIA.

Four beautiful little words: "Pitchers and catchers report." ... :goodposting:

What do you guys think of these numbers?

Odds to win the 2011 National League Pennant

Philadelphia Phillies +155

Any other team -180

Odds to win the 2011 American League Pennant

New York Yankees +285

Boston Red Sox +205

Any other team -185

:goodposting: Like taking candy from a baby. Sure, a bit of homerism with that, but if the Phils can stay healthy I have a hard timer seeing them losing many series. I think the Phils will most definitely make the playoffs, and i think thery will be the favorite in any series they are in. Only thing that has me holding off on a lot of the Phillies futures is that I could see them starting the year out slow like they have the last few years. They seem to try and peak at the right time (i.e. playoffs), which didn't seem to work too wel last year, but it does seem like they coast a bit to start the season. Could be different this year with all of the buzz, and it isn't like they will be losing on purpose, but if the offense can put up more than 3 runs a game (which if they are all healthy should be very easy), i don't see them losing too many

I'm trying to find a price on them to win the East. Should be a gimme, despite what are sure to be stupid odds.

Missed this one by a few minutes. I see it is 5-0 in the 2nd period, I hate to say you can ever score a game a win before it is over, but if you lose this oneI don't even know what to say

Hockey tonight:

Flames/Avs O5.5

Avs are a top five over team at home and the Flames give up a lot of PP scoring chances on the road.
Looks good, I am in this with you, let's cash this one, might be my only play tonight.
Yeah I was counting on Forsberg lighting that old flame but I think this one is very solid regardless. I think this is my only play also, I wanted the Caps and hoped the price would go down on them but it actually went up.
Nice call here

Tampa is so good at home but I'll look into this one tomorrow. Have to agree the Flyers are likely to come out strong but I'd really love a plus number here and then I think I'd be in (I know, that is a lot to ask for given how well they've played but tampa has owned them and Tampa is great at home). I like Sens/Isles O5.5(among others, probably gonna be a big card tomorrow but I like this one best)

Both teams have played to five consecutive overs including a 5-3 game they played last week. Islanders are playing really aggressive right now and Grabner is on fire so I think they can pot three here, and you know they'll give up at least three.

:lmao: In with the over

Turned on some college hoops to see Vandy and ####y finishing up the first half. That much I'm sure of. Then they skipped halftime, I could swear they just went back out and played. This happened to Colorado State this year and as a trendsetting institution, I could see more of it, but didn't expect it so soon.

WTH???

Did you double up at halftime? Cuse down by 4 and line was -5, making cuse -1 for the game. Glad they showed up in the 2nd half.Avatar stays til NBA ROY is announced

Im on Dr D's hockey total for tonight Isles-Sens Over 5.5 -120

Also playing the Islanders +115 straight up- Ottawa as a favorite should almost be an automatic play against anyway but the Isles are in good form to boot. They are getting some consistent scoring lately and are on a 3 game win streak, they face a Sens team that has been down for quite some time now.

Looks like everyone will be on this tonight including myself. Seems too easy which is concerning  This is locked in along with Boston PL +150. Should spank the Leafs tonight after two embarrassing losses to Detroit & Thomas back in net at home.

Also looking at Montreal tonight -150. Sabres have Enroth in net and I can't see them coming out of there with a win.

With the road loss to Wisky the other day, you would think Ohio St should rebound big time against a surprisingly bad Michigan St team and cover the 12 pretty easily, no?

Got a really good play in college hoops tonight, George Mason +1 at VCU. George Mason is the most talented team in the conference this year and although VCU will give them a game tonight, I really like George Mason to prevail here. George Mason has been drilling teams lately, locking down on D and putting up near 80 points consistently on offense. They are shooting 48% for the year from the field and are better than VCU in every facet of the game. The only advantage that VCU has tonight is the homecourt and it will not be enough, George Mason has better offensive stats than VCU does home or away and if you look at form in last five games, its a huge edge for GMU as they have locked down the D. George Mason is on a 12 game win streak against the spread and you even get a point tonight. They can pull away in the standings tonight with a win here and I expect they are going to get it, slight revenge game as they got drilled by VCU last March (one of VCU's best players has since graduated).

Final Card for the night:

NCAAB-

George Mason +1

NHL-

Islanders +115

Isles-Sens over 5.5 -120

Canadians -135

Lot of points man, I couldn't play it. Ohio State is 2-6 vs the spread in the Big 10 when favored by more than 10 points. Izzo's teams are usually tough this time of year, I think this MSU team has problems which is why Im not betting the game but I think the only side to take is Michigan State if you are playing.

BTW, if you guys aren't using covers.com for handicapping you really should be. Best handicapping site out there IMO. I love the "team expert" picks in the matchup section in particular. These are the top handicappers who follow specific teams -- one guy in particular stands out tonight on the Bruins game. 22-1 on the year on Bruins sides & totals, coming out with Boston & under tonight.

I agree with Jefferson. I see Michigan St. in same spot as Kansas St. last night. This is a make or break game for them in the eyes of the selection committee. Izzo will have them ready. If it were another conference, I'd think twice, but Big 10 pace is slow which makes it harder to cover double digits.
