FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (4 Viewers)

What are we thinking for tomorrow night, boys? I have absolutely no feel for that matchup. The Jags gave the Steelers all they wanted last week. Can we assume that JAX offers Baltimore similar challenges?
Jags defense is underrated and will hang in there. Jags offense, especially passing offense is horrendous. Ravens defense is considerably better than Steelers.I like the under. Jags o-line is beat up and I'll be surprised if they score double digits. This looks like an epic 19-6 snooze fest.
I think this would be a good game fantasy-wise if you had either kicker.

I ended up playing the Ravens. Bought the 1/2 point to get 'em down to 9.5 (-120 @ Bookmaker).

Anything can happen, but I think Baltimore is 10 points better than JAX on any field. Some sites have this number up to 11.5 already, so I wanted to get this one in early.

:goodposting: I got Balt at 10. They are better in every aspect.I have a series bet on the Cards already, but I also like them to win outright tonight too.

No time for analysis today, but here are my plays:Bears -1NY Jets -1Texans +3Falcons +4Chiefs +3.5Vikings +10Colts/Saints OVER 48I'm going to play the Ravens as well, but I'm going to wait on it.Super Teaser/ 7 Points:Texans +10, Falcons +11, Chiefs +10.5, Packers -3, Saints -6.5, Ravens -2Good Luck!
well played sir.
Thanks, kurt. Hope I was able to help out some folks around these parts as well who may have trailed. While college hasn't been my strong suit, the NFL has been going very well so far this year...knock on wood.A day like this is so rare, and the guy who taught me how to cap and bet was the 1st one to say that the law of averages wins out in the end, so to enjoy it in the moment, and not be silly with the winnings, or adjust percentage of bankroll wagered. Get the funds that exceed your bankroll in hand ASAP and resist the temptation to roll them over. Bankroll for betting, profits for income.I haven't always been able to abide by that sage advice...In addition to the Super Teaser mentioned above, which pays out 5:1 (1.5u wagered), I made one more play before the 4PM games kicked off, after the 1PM wagers went 4-0.I felt that the Vikings play was the weakest on the card, and with it likely that something was going to lose, I hedged with a 1.5u 7 point teaser Vikings +17.5 / Ravens -3.The Vikes/Packs bets luckily middled, and I'm REALLY pulling for the Ravens tonight to cover 3.GOOD LUCK to the rest of you...especially those on the Ravens!

FYI I know you guys won't beleive me but don't care.... just got back from a bar (buddies work at ESPN radio and Grizzlies girls were there)

Laid off 5u t/w 5u late in the halftime break (when JAX +7 was even)

I had 2.5u x2 (accidentally) to win 4u x2. (accidentally)

Mitigated a bad weekend for me. Knew it was coming after too many good ones :lmao:

I chickened out at half also...but not to that extent. I hate you Joe Flacco

Wings in regulation

Blackhawks in regulation

Parlay

Canes -1.5

Stars

Over 5 in Kings/Devils

Debating Canucks puck line.

Give me UCONN +3 at half. Pitt loses best player and now their QB gets dinged on last play. In line and all but still, as long as UCONN doesn't quit, should be plenty of chances to cover that.

Last year was teaser magic....another week with very few teaser lines

Tenn -8.5

doubt houston gets there with AJ now practicing

doubt NYG gets there

doubt denver gets there with stafford practicing

pit +3

sf -8.5 though not sure that lasts

seattle +3

thats it :sadbanana:

What am I missing here?

How does Stanford/USC not go over 59½? I can't see either defense slowing down either offense.
The biggest thing I think is that neither team runs the hurry up no huddle...It has to cost teams a few possessions a game...With the new rules in CFB (and I use "new" loosely as they have been in effect for a few years) it really affects the teams that run normal pro style offenses...

Teams like Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech...it doesnt make a difference if they were playing NFL clock rules, they are still getting off 70-80 plays a game.

I understand all of this stuff is built into the line, but with 2 pro style offenses, there is no margin for error to get to 60 pts...with a game involving Oklahoma State and Oregon, I think you can afford a few mistakes like turnovers in the red zone/missed fgs/ etc.

Just my 2 pennies

And, while I am on the subject....I think its worth playing "pleaser" overs on teams like Oregon and Oklahoma state...So mu opportunity that they rarely "barely" make it over 66 or whatever their number is...usually they blow by it.

Still trying to figure out this year's NCAA thing.

Houston (-28) at home vs Rice - let's not even take into consideration how bad Rice is, for a moment (and they are really, really bad...on BOTH sides of the ball). Morbidly so.

Houston has a many strong things playing in their favor tonight to cover a monster 4 TD spread here.

1. First of all, they are another upstart mid-major (see Boise St., et al), undefeated and in the Top 25. There are very strong motivational factors to consider, as it's safe to assume they know how the system works: they're in the spotlight tonight, with voters focusing their attention on them as they play at home vs a vastly inferior opponent. In the interest of gaining votes and moving up the polls, it's absolutely necessary for them to win this game, and by a very large margin...because that's what they're SUPPOSED to do.

2. Houston QB Case Keenum is a legitimate Heisman candidate. Again he's in the spotlight, and has the opportunity to shine with everyone's eyes on him. Keenum has some eye-popping situational things going on: as the starting QB of the Cougars, he's a MONSTER at home: 17-0, and 14-2 vs the spread, and boy do they like to kick the crap out of inferior opponents: when Keenum is QB'ing, and they are favored by more than 17 points, they've won all 9 of those instances by an average of 30+ points.

Houston is already a Team that has a potent offense, and doesn't mind running the score up under normal circumstances, especially at home, and with Keenum under center. Throw in the situation they are in tonight, and then factor in how pathetically bad Rice is, and 4 TD's starts to look very manageable.

4.5u. I'm all in.

I feel like this gets asked about a dozen times a week, but what is the best sportsbook for a new guy to use? I'm mainly concerned about being paid out. Seems like every time I try and cash out of sportsbook it takes 2 months and they want new identification everty time.

Bodog? Greek? 5dimes?

I'll be a new sub, so one of you will probably get a bonus out of me.

5dimes and theGreek are great...I am partial to 5dimes and have never had a problem withdrawing...An enormous amount of bets too...

OK - put a small new deposit in on sportsbook but this will probably be it for me. Since this past years superbowl I have requested a withdrawal from them twice and I ended up pulling an Otis and got sloppy with my bets and pi$$ed it all away after they rejected my withdrawal for some stupid reason. I want to be able to get my money out when I want too.
