FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (2 Viewers)

Me and 2 buds play an NBA Closest To The Pin Win Total Contest Every Year...

The rules are really complicated but here's what I need this season for the record:

Hawks - 29 or under wins (worth 1 point)

Celtics - 39 or under wins (worth 1 point)

Bobcats - 17 wins exactly (worth 5 points)

Bulls - 51 wins exactly (worth 5 points)

Cavaliers - 14 or under wins (1 point)

Mavericks - 40 or under wins (1 point)

Nuggets - 31 or under wins (1 point)

Pistons - 16 or over wins (1 point)

Warriors - 27 wins (5 points)

Rockets - 28 wins (5 points)

Pacers - 31 or over wins (1 point)

Clippers - 42 wins exactly (5 points)

Lakers - 49 wins exactly (5 points)

Grizzlies - 38 wins or under (1 point)

From here on out - an exact number = 5 points...an over or under = 1...you get the idea:

Heat - 53 or over

Bucks - 29 exactly

TWolves - 17 or over

Nets - 19 exactly

Hornets - 21 exactly

Knicks - 46 or under

Thunder - 44 exactly

Magic - 41 or over

76ers - 29 or under

Suns - 22 or under

TBlazers - 36 exactly

Kings - 17 or under

Spurs - 37 exactly

Raptors - 17 exactly

Jazz - 22 or over

Wizards - 16 exactly

the way the contest works, you can get "boxed out" which means you only have an exact win total to win points at random. I incidently got "boxed out" 14 times out of a an average of 10 times so I got really screwed. Beyond that - I hate a lot of my picks.

There's 3 of us and we play for 1000 a man. I have the ability to make one trade. Any of the over or unders look egregiously bad where you would look to trade?

TIA

How far down on the ESPN depth chart are these announcers?
Waaay down. They are doing an ok job. Everyone on FBG loves to ##### about every sports commentator in the history of the world. I don't really pay attention to what they say. usually looking at porn on my iPhone during the games anyway

Thanks for hanging in here Ref after the usual suspects flew the coop for the night
Meh. I'm stuck in my room because the in laws are sleeping in my living room. It was either go to bed at 9 or watch the game on espn 360.
Also watching the game on ESPN360. Cancelled my cable at my apartment 4 months ago since I was going to be in Costa Rica most of the time. It was a good decision at the time but it sucks when I come home and there's nothing to watch except ESPN360 or Antiques Roadshow on PBS.ORG

Bender- sorry to hear about your family holiday, sounds like a drag, but I like how you handle it and I'm sure they appreciate you coming by. Mr. big shot international consultant.

Thanks cos  I do it for my grandmother to be honest. My nuclear family is much more down to earth, structured and sane so it's not as bad as I make it sound. It's brutal being there for even an hour, but worth seeing my grandma's smile when I actually show up. Hope things go well for you this year and in 2012, cos.

I fly back to Costa Rica on Tuesday and when I fly back in January I'm flying straight back to Philly. Movers will be here next Thursday.I'm driving back to pick up my dog from the kennel and then back to Philly permanently (for now). I think I picked a safe neighborhood. Company tells me I'll be here for at least 2 years so there's a bit of stability there at last.

What I like about Philly is you are in the heart of the eastern seaboard. You can jump on the train and be at what 30? more? horsetracks, arenas, stadia and ballparks within 2-3 hours?

Ya exactly. Since I'll actually be travelling 3 weeks out of every month I got a spot in a neighborhood only 10 minutes from the airport. But I'm a 1:30 minute drive to NYC, 2 hours to D.C. and easy to get to anywhere. I thought it was the best situation for me right now. thanks to Spoofy, I easily found out what neighborhoods were good and bad in Philly but a lot of people didn't have many opinions on Baltimore so I went with the place I knew about. I'm consulting on opening a branch in Cincy and Louisville during my first year so I'll be there a lot but I like Philly as a good option for the night life, etc. I think I'll like it. (as long as I don't end up on Parking Wars)

Really? I posted in GMTAN about the option of moving to either Philly or BMore. I went with the Illadel based on recommendations, but I've seen The Wire (thanks to RN incidently) and was scared ####less to move there site unseen.

Fed Hill is pretty reasonable for rents and the social scene is awesome. Several other inner city neighborhoods that are great like Canton and the area around Camden Yards.

Funny - a good bud of mine also recommended Fed Hill. I posted in GMTAN that I was basically looking to spend 1000-1200 a month, I wanted to live alone, I have a dog, and I have 2 vehicles and the best option everyone came up with was Philly. If you will be in the BMore area on a regular basis, please let me know, I'd love to go catch a few beers DD.
