FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (8 Viewers)

Bowl plays for tomorrow:2u Wisconsin +5.51u Florida -21u Penn St +7.5YTD 75-64 +8.9u
Are these gut feels or do you apply the same data for football as with your hoops plays?
Pretty similar to hoops, different data sets obviously but same principles. The Wisconsin play is borderline 2u w/in my system, but my gut says Wisconsin handles them with the time off and the size advantage in the trenches.
Interesting. I keep thinking about Oregon's speed advantage. You just think Wisconsin will bludgeon them instead.
Wisconsin will be able to do what they want in the run game and in turn, will be able to keep Oregon's offense off of the field. (in theory)

Rest of year football plays. Semi biggish day tomorrow.Georgia -3 - 1.5 UnitsSC -2.5 - 2 UnitsSC Under 46 - 2 UnitsOk St -4 - 2 UnitsNIU +1.5 - 2 UnitsNIU/Ark St O 62.5 - 4 unitsLSU/Bama Under 40.5 - 3 unitsBama +1 - 3 UnitsGreen Bay Super Bowl +180 - 10 UnitsNew Orlean Super Bowl +500 - 4 Units
I was just looking at this and you have more units bet there than I have in my account (one unit for me is 4% right now so 25 units).Maybe I need to adjust that.
I'm doing it wrong. A Unit is a set amount to me. Even if I go 100-0 I'm not going to up my standard wager amount. I'll cash out and buy something cool before I go any higher. I do this for fun more then anything else. Poker on the other hand I take more seriously....
Got it. A unit is really something that means something different to probably everyone who gambles. It was asked a few days ago by GPJ about percentage of units, set dollar amounts and how to determine the size of your bets and there weren't too many responses. Looks like we went opposite directions on the total in this game but will have about the same result. Still hoping for a 28-14 final but it looks unlikely.

lol, sportsbook posts 13.5 I guess they know it won't get overturned

edit: oops didn't know you couldn't challenge that.

28-14 would be OK with me..... 24-21 would be even better.. ;)

My "unit" varies depending on the sport. My "unit" also varies depending on how hot the chick is.

College Football/NFL/NBA/Hockey my unit is really just a very small handful of jellybeans. .

My unit in the sports I know something about NCAA Basketball/Baseball is typically more than double that. I like that everyone here uses units when they post plays as it keeps it relative to my puny bankroll.

Final note. Where the hell is that tjnc09bmj dude? I kind of liked him.

For those of you guys at Sportsbook that didn't know, they offer 2h player props, which are posted at halftime (NFL Live Betting Props). Results may vary on cut accounts. I tested it on 2 cut accounts and 1 was cut to the $10 limit, the other wasn't cut ($300 bet went through no prob).

I tested it on a "cut" acct of mine and can bet the max. Well, for now anyway.

My CFB and hockey unit are the same, my NFL unit is a little less, anything else is about half of the CFB/hockey unit.Have no idea if I'm doing it right.

Jacobs or Romo? ;)
Austin no td -200. You probably bet over completions, but I was offered Romo un 16.5 comp -140 on another acct, and un 190.5 -120 - both will lose...

Eh me neither. It's tons of fun which is why I do it. I learned on the job from GooRoo a few years back and all the knowledge guys drop in here. I like being blissfully ignorant. When I played poker, I was a lot more serious but now I have a real job and obviously don't have to gamble to live. Makes it a lot more entertaining. I have a much better timeNot getting too serious and just tailing on a play one of you other degens posts in here. I do try to pick some NCAA Hoops winners to show my gratitude.

I really only take bowl season and hockey playoffs seriously, the rest is just for rooting interest. I was on a serious roll in November though, thought I had it all figured out. But then came bowl season, and unlike hockey playoffs were I dominate, bowl games (especially early ones) still get the best of me. Hoping to finish strong though, some good leans on the CFB IMO.

what do you guys lack on the total?

edit: lol i assume less than 7

epic day today folks

Early leans on SEC games tomorrow (haven't punched these, will provide a bit of rationale while I sweat this middle)USC -3 (Nebraska)Georgia -3 (Michigan State)Ohio State +2 (Florida)
I've got to take a big :bag: here. The more I look at these games, they're all really close. As many have posted, I think the under may be plays in all 3 of them. Maybe the icon college teasers are in play here.

Re: the USC/Nebraska under... Are we fading the Huskers' offense or do we just expect the cocks to stiffen on defense?
Nebraska scored 17 points on Penn State, 17 on Michigan and 20 on Iowa. I think Penn State's defense compares best, but USC's defense is better than all those defenses (and then some in Michigan's case). South Carolina has a great player on offense in WR Alshon Jeffery and they did score 42 on Georgia and 34 on Clemson, but they have a ton of trouble passing and Lattimore is gone. Both defenses are above average and neither offense seems to have much momentum. The only worry in this game total is the possibility of defensive TDs because Nebraska is sloppy. I'll say 27-13 South Carolina.

So the cocks won't be limp on D?

I see two teams that are going to settle for FG's more then they would like combined with enough rushing to keep the clock moving. It's DD play, but I like it.

I will erect a statue in DD's honor if this hits.

I see almost the same thing with UGA/MSU, no?

Steelers up to 9, and the total has already dropped.
I put in a teaser: Steelers -1.5 Falcons +9.5Also playing the UGa/MSU over. The good offenses MSU has played have mostly had their way with them, and MSU is very capable on offense. Dunno, I see others like the under. Not playing OSU/UF and still don't see a hook for Penn State.
