It's funny, I kept thinking that Louisville is so long... and their zone and length really bothered Cincy. But then I realized that Syracuse is even LONGER... which confirms my suspicions that they were sandbagging. The dirty little secret is that the elite teams really don't care about winning their conference tourney. It's all about the bigger picture.

Just finished watching LBSU cover on dvr. Tell me someone saw this. :LMOA 
A Long Beach State player hucked the ball as high in the air as possible as time ran out and this little, skinny student, wearing one of those full skin suits, all bright gold head-to-toe, comes running onto the court to celebrate...well, he never saw the ball and yep, you guessed it...
Got knocked the #### out! Never even knew what hit him. Face-down on the floor. Most fans were oblivious, still streaming out and celebrating, until a couple tried to help. But they could't get through his suit, which was covering his face. And so they kinda panic and start trying to pull it off him. Then he comes to, feels what's going on, freaks out and starts swinging. Can't stop laughing, greatest thing I've ever seen.

Essentially, the bet is Kansas vs the Big 10 Champion (Michigan St./Ohio St.), because even if North Carolina and/or Kentucky loses today, I don't see that changing anything, and Syracuse isn't going anywhere, either.So, the subset of that is who we like in the Michigan St./Ohio St. game, because going in, Michigan State probably has a stronger resume. Cap it off by beating Ohio State for the Big 10 Title, and I think there's a puncher's chance they could unseat Kansas from that last #1. If Ohio State wins, I think it still goes to Kansas.Personally, I think Michigan State is going to win today, but I don't have a strong enough feel for it to lay money on them...yet.I want to see how these others play out at 1PM.UNC -6: I love this Florida State team, but if you see how they beat UNC the last time they played, it was like a perfect storm situation, involving some incredibly hot shooting, and including Carolina's own hubris. I'm pretty sure the Tar Heels are going to take this game seriously today, clamp down defensively and avenge that earlier loss.Xavier -3.5: St. Boneventure and U.Mass cost me a BOATLOAD on Friday, knocking out St. Joe's and Temple, respectively. I went on tilt for a while after that, before engineering a recovery of sorts late Friday afternoon through yesterday. Although I'm still down my share of units from the Thursday/Friday bloodbath - at one point it was over 24, now it's down to a manageable 8, and thanks to a nice start to the week, that's actually only 5.5 for the week...but I digress. I was still steaming over those two losses yesterday, but resisted temptation on betting the U.Mass/St Bon. game because my hate would have gotten the better of me. Figured I'd take it out on whoever won that matchup, because I liked the Xavier/St. Louis winner to beat either one. I'd feel more confident if this was St. Louis/Majerus in this spot, so probably going to bite it and buy down to 3, but I'll get some of that Friday BS back today. But only some: U.Mass killed a 4-Team Teaser for 2u, and St. Bon's a 5u straight bet on St. Joes. Can't put a dime on this one, much less a nickel. Plenty of hoops still to go...Vanderbilt +8: I don't think Vandy is going to win this game by any means, but I do think they can keep it close. Kentucky is in the final leg of a marathon, and at times during the SEC Tournament, they've looked like it. I think they just want the regular season part of their schedule to end, and may relax a little in this one. Vanderbilt has put together a nice run here, playing with confidence and getting it done despite the noticeable lack of production from a couple of their stars. They handled Ole Miss, a very tough out, yesterday, getting basically nothing out of Festus Ezeli and Jeff Taylor. Thing is, Vandy is loaded with talent. If Kentucky feels secure enough about their 1 Seed, which they should, and decide to get all the guys in their rotation some PT, it plays to Vandy's advantage some. I could easily see Kentucky more concerned about just winning this one, rather than by how much, and Vandy absolutely has the offensive punch to get into a shootout with the 'cats. I think they're the best the SEC has to offer outside of the Wildcats, so this is the right Championship matchup. I think both those guys show up today and I was impressed watching Vandy beat Georgia and Ole Miss how John Jenkins, Brad Tinsley and Lance Goulbourne kept the Team together and picked up the slack for Taylor. When they're on, with all 5 of those guys firing, there are very few teams in the nation who can beat Vandy, and if the "ON" Vandy team shows up and plays to their potential, they're a legit Final 4 candidate. Alas, their Tournament history doesn't make that look promising, but that has to change sooner or later. I'd max bet other on that final 4 prop. The big10 is the best conference in basketball this year and have their 2 best teams in the final. OSU is certainly more deserving than MSU at this point but really, either could be justified over Kansas

As a sidebar because I got a few PMs lf late, we are kind of ramping down on SOG props for the year. We are in that strange time of year when teams have clinched playoff spots, the trade deadline changed teams playing styles, and kids are called up for a cup of coffee. We aint hitting them like we were just 2 weeks ago. That said we kind of like under Phi 31.5 today, esp at -105.
