For those looking for a response, I will again explain why props outside of Evo are no longer available. It simply came down to people not bothering to send correct lines/vig. Even after repeated attempts asking people to send current lines/vig from sportsbook.com, many kept copying and pasting the old lines/vig that GooRoo sent them. This happened most every night. Why? I have no idea. GooRoo's play were winners most every night no matter the line. There was no reason to not play by the rules. Not to mention Dave and I were not available every night to check lines after we discovered the honor system was failing miserably. What book owner in his right mind would continue with such a trial when he was being cheated?
This trial was an attempt to make the players happy by offering more lines. In hindsight a horrible decision that backfired because of a few customers that would not abide to a few simple rules. I have always treated each one of the Evo customers fairly and with respect. Not to mention when you have a winning month, you get paid without fail during settle up week. If a couple of you feel the need to take shots at me, so be it. However, I know most of it is due to the frustration of having a couple of bad months. If it makes you feel better to vent at my expense then feel free. For the couple of you that don't even use the book or know what went down taking shots at me, well I am not sure what to think about that.
I have friendly relationships with most of the Evo guys. Most appreciate the conveniences and integrity that Evo offers. To the few complaining, well you just can't please everyone.
Full disclaimer: I LOVE EVO. It is a very well-run sportsbook, the lines are top-notch, and the customer service is beyond awesome. Payment is prompt and there has never been any issues when I asked Kurt for anything. However, I don't appreciate the finger-pointing and making excuses for shutting down props.
We started out with the honor system. We send our plays and props will be provided at a 5c discount (which was discontinued pretty quickly after GooRoo hit about 10 SOG props in a row).
We had a slight issue on March 21 regarding "stale lines" and this was the first that I heard of it being an issue:
03/21
oukurt: “Are you sure the vig on your SOG bets is correct?. I bet these at Sports Book the same time these were sent to me and vig on all 3 games was -125.”
bmj87: “No, actually I wasn't sure this time because I was on the road. I just got the email from GooRoo and sent them over to RN pretty much immediately.
You can be assured that I'm not trying to post "old" vigs/lines just to get over on you guys. Most of the time I check sportsbook.com to double-check the lines.
I apologize for the stale lines this time, it was a rare occasion where I was on the road and didn't have access to much else.
Won't happen again in the future.”
---
I apologized, made sure it wouldn't happen again. I cannot say the same for others, but this was the only mention to me of people sending stale lines.
There were expectations of us to be honest and obviously, we want the same in return from the people running our sportsbook. The following is an issue I ran into a prop was available both at SB and on the EVO website.
03/23
oukurt: “Note - The Milsapp points + reb is available at Evo and must be bet there and not using the Sports Book line. Thanks”
bmj87: “So if evo has the same prop, I have to bet whichever line is worse?”
oukurt: “No, of course not. If Evo offers the prop (which they rarely do) then you have to bet the Evo line whether it is a better or worse line.”
---
I was only told when the line was worse on EVO, btw. To test this, I sent three plays over the next week that were available at both SB and EVO and EVO had a better line. I never got a heads up saying “You have no action on these props, they are available at EVO.”
The very next day, I asked oukurt why I had no action on a prop that I sent prior to him and RN “being in the office." This was under the assumption that we were still on the honor system because he told me he would be home between 2-3pm CT and I could send him the plays.
03/24
oukurt: “I can't go by the honor system anymore because there was no honor the other night when I had customers sending me old lines.”
---
We are not going by the honor system any more at this point. It's clear. After 03/24, the honor system is no longer in effect and should not be an issue when it comes to sending plays. This is now how it would work; the following was a dispute over a prop line that I sent:
03/26
oukurt: “This is how it works. I have all the different pages of prop bet lines pulled up and ready to go. When a customer sends his plays then I instantly click refresh to get the lines. These lines are accurate. The second each customer bet hits my inbox, the second, not a minute later, but the second it hits my inbox, I click line refresh and these are those lines. They are correct. Good luck.”
bmj87: “So there's no reason for me to check the lines before I send them? Just send you GooRoos props and you'll reply back with what the lines are at that time?”
oukurt: “Correct.”
---
COOL. I never have to worry about checking lines again. RN and oukurt have this under control. I send them GR's plays, they send me back the line at the time of the e-mail.
And this is where I have the problem. Kurt said we "can't do props anymore because people wouldn't send correct lines." However, that was no longer an issue when the honor system was disbanded. After 03/24, I sent him GR's plays the minute he sent them out because I had no reason to check them. He was going to tell me what the lines were and I was never told otherwise.
I don't like being called a cheat. That I circumvented the system to get better lines. Anyone who knowingly and willingly takes GooRoo's bets is beyond insane. I don't know if it's pride or stupidity; but when you offer to take $300 limits on a guy who's made close to 500 units in the past 5 years, it is downright stupid.
I have absolutely ZERO problem shutting down the prop operation. I am not mad at Kurt in any way, shape, or form for not allowing us to bet props anymore. I completely understand, it's just ######ed to continue to bleed money. He seriously lost 5 days out of 60. It makes no sense to dump tens of thousands of dollars when you don't have to. Do you really think the operation would be shut down if we were losing tens of thousands of dollars, regardless of what lines we were sending? I just don't like the reasoning and how the whole thing went down. Just man up and say what every other sportsbook has said to GooRoo. "You're too good, we don't want you to play here anymore." Oh wait, you basically did on 03/27:
03/27
oukurt: “Nah it has been a struggle to keep the props from Sportsbook alive with as good as GooRoo is.”

Kurt I love Evo and I love your customer service. I hope to be a customer for a very long time. I just don't like the way that this situation has played out.
