FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (7 Viewers)

Thursday plays

Virginia Tech -1 1/2

Ohio U./EMU over 58

3 team parlay with the above and adding EMU +16

I bet enough to win on unit

Not that it matters, but my number one girl is making me realize how much I have been slacking off with my number two. I'm breaking out the furniture polish over here for my number one tonight. But at least number two will be impressed with a cleaner house on Saturday.

Eastern Michigan vs. Ohio

Over 58½ -110

330/300

Also taking EMU plus points for 1H and Game.

Detroit -4 at Jacksonville (4 units)

Jacksoville's third down conversion percent is worst in the league. Detroit's defense is 9th. If Detroit doesn't give up any special teams TD's, they should win this game pretty easily. 27-13

Houston -10.5 vs Buffalo (4 units)

The only reason I don't have Jacksonville rated as the worst team in the NFL is Buffalo. Buffalo got smoked in their other two games against top competition (San Francisco and New England). No reason to think any differently here as Buffalo's weakness(run defense) is Houston's strenght. Houston will score plenty. Buffalo will not keep up because Houston has a good defense. 38-20

Carolina +3.5 at Washington (3 units)

I think the road team is the better team here. RG3 has been great, but he still isn't playing well on 3rd down. Washington defense is decimated by injury and can't get of the field. Carolina can win this game. Getting more than a field goal makes it even more attractive. 27-24 Carolina.

Cleveland +4 vs Baltimore (3 units)

I though Baltimore was one of the more overrated teams before they were struck with all the injuries. I'm still confused as to how they were able to beat New England and Dallas. I think the Houston thrashing is closer to what they really are at this point. This should be a pick em game, but Baltimore is living of past glory. Cleveland wins 20-18

I also like the Colts, Bears, Giants and Vikings in teasers.

I got KC to cover tonight. They can't possibly keep turning the ball over as they have right?

Thats the problem with Tournaments compared to Cash. It's bad enough to have to pay the rake, sort of speak. But if you do manage to break through and win the big one Uncle Sam takes half.
I think you meant to say, for all those combing the ref's internet presence in the future, he unfortunately takes half from the cash winnings too.
Would you believe that I have never had a winning year? I'm unlucky. :P
Pretty sure that you're taxed on gross winnings, not net winnings... meaning that every time you win, you should pay taxes on that, even if you have a net loss for the year.
Link?I'm pretty sure you can take a deduction for gambling losses up to as much as you won if you itemize.

I've been saying that for weeks.................and yet the keep doing it.

right. So, if you have a net loss on the year, don't you pay the same amount of taxes as if you didn't gamble at all?

If you factor in the deduction, doesn't that mean you are taxed on net winnings, rather than gross?

Crossing the zero hero? I like the breakdowns above although I'd probably tread lightly on the Panturds. You may have talked me into the Lions.

I'm no accountant, but I'm pretty sure gambling winnings are taxed at something like a 40% rate and the losses deduction is worth less than half of that. I could very well be wrong on this though and I not feel like googling it :-P

Who is going to carry the Thunder's second unit on offense?

Going to take the Under 50.5 second quarter in the Spurs/Thunder game. No shtick.

Kansas City is the worst team in the NFL. Almost every offensive play is a train wreck.
I was gonna say at least it wasn't as bad as Arizona on Thursday night in week 5, but I think that was more of a case of STL dominating the line of scrimmage. In this game, KC is just terrible.

If Rivers wasn't a moron, it would be 17-3. My god, when are SD and DAL going to realize that their Qb's are killing them and move on?

Yeah, still didn't stop me from putting 1u on SD -3 2H

Holy ####, Hasheem Thabeet is in the game!!
looks like it turned out pretty well. Congrats
Gonna be something to keep track of a little....The team they ran out there to start the second quarter was horrible from an offensive standpoint.MaynorSefaloshaKevin MartinCollisonThabeetThat is Kevin Martin and a white guy scoring all your points...

Is it time to start thinking about taking USC this weekend? They're getting 8 at 5dimes and just heard an interesting stat on the way home tonight...

Beating up on Colorado has not been good the following week. Only one team (Sacramento St) won following the Colorado game.

CSU lost to NDSU in week 2

Fresno St lost to Tulsa in week 4

Wazzu lost to Oregon in week 5

UCLA lost to Cal in week 6

ASU lost to Oregon in week 7

USC lost to Arizona last week

The Trojans are a solid team and probably represent the best bet to beat Oregon. Any thoughts?

:thumbup:Look I'm not saying USC wont win outright. But I'm not going to bet against the Ducks till I see a reason not to side with them. I'm sure they wont put up 70. But I'm sure they will put up > 40. If Zona hung a 39 on USC I'm not worried about the ducks scoring enough points to beat USC.

Wong: Chargers, Bengals, Eagles, Colts, Steelers

College: Miss State +7, UGa -14 and leaning LSU and Oregon but waiting to see how the lines shake out. gllllll

Heisman Trophy - winner

Sat 11/3 18805 Collin Klein wins Heisman Trophy -305

12:00PM 18806 Field wins Heisman Trophy +225

Is Klein really running away with the Heisman? What if K-State drops a game before the end of the year?

Sat 11/3 16505 Oregon wins BCS Champ +450

12:00PM 16506 Field wins BCS Championship -750

Oregon looks like the only team that can beat Alabama. Not sure how much this line will change if they handle USC.

Sun 11/4 29001 Falcons go 16-0 in regular season +2000

8:30PM 29002 Falcons any regular season loss or tie -4000

Falcons probably drop a game, but may be worth the 20:1 odds. No?

Thoughts???

I don't see it. you can bring up Orguns weak competition, but they have a special dynamic. They score at will with the first stringers. I'll bet that until it loses. I think they have had this game tabbed all yr as the game of the season. Statement game.

I should get my hand slapped for this, but I'm betting a full card in NCAA this weekend. Kind hard not to do so with the two best regular season games on the same weekend.

2U Bama -10

2U Bama -7

4U Oregon -8

1U Vandy -7.5

1U Clemson -13.5

2U NC State -10.5 ( A good pal of mines "play of the year")

1U Ohio State -25

1U Georgia -14

1U Fresno -33.5

1U Miss St +7

the loss to Colorado thing was on Sportscenter tonight as one of those psuedo-"Did You Know" type things. It's a horrible trend.NOt betting this game, but that's where this stat came from.

At this point in the season I think there is good value playing the Falcons opponent on the ML until they lose. Call me crazy, but I think the Cowboys have a decent shot this week. +180 Was actually hoping that line would be closer to seven, maybe someone has the same idea I do. :kicksrock:

Why not throw $100 on ATL to go undefeated. Then bet $100 on their opponent for the last 9 weeks?

I like Zona St for overs vs bad teams, I like Beavers for unders when they play bad teams. Thing is I like both teams so I'm expecting a close game. No angle here for me.

Right - what about some sort of "Chase" Play? Risk enough to win $100 Game #1 to cover your $100 on the +$2000 bet. Because every opponent will be +. Just thinking out loud here...

I tell you guys what. Being the youngest guy a woman has ever been with, because she has dated older men all her life, is the isht.

And how in the hell did EMU & Ohio not cover that over. Thumbs down to that.
