FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (6 Viewers)

Tempted to buy back some Atl +4 -115. I think this closes on the 3, actually surprised that that blew right thru the 3 yesterday
I tried to get in early but never really saw a line below 3. Think I wound up punching 49ers -3.5 +107.Also teased them up to +3.5 with the Patriots at -2.

I am the biggest 49ers homer here and I still don't see how SF is the best bet of the year.-Atl has Mike Nolan who is very familiar with SF-They are travelling east-CK is only 2-2 on the road this year. He has 3 INTs in those 4 games (vs 1 at home) and fumbled 6 times (4 of those were at NE). -Atlanta OL is much better than GB. If Ryan has time in the pocket, their secondary is not that shut down. GB was 31st in OL according to FO and Atlanta is 8th.-GB was a dream matchup for SF. They couldn't stop the run (gave up almost 500 yds rushing to MINN the previous 2 weeks inc 7-68 to Joe Webb). They made Christian Ponder look good in week 17. SF isn't going to put up 45 on ATL.

Mike Nolan was the coach 4 years ago, seems irrelevantGametime is 3pm EST, travelling doesn't seem like a big deal and SF has an extra day off because of the Sat gameI don't think SF is going to put up 45 on ATL. There was a silly amount of scoring this past weekend, doubt we see that again this weekend.I'll take Harbaugh over Smith any day of the week. Smith has repeatedly showed he's a horrible in game manager.

This is the biggest factor for me. This is a complete mismatch coaching wise. Not to mention I feel SF has more talent on the field as well. The home/road splits for Kaepernick are a concern though.

I guess since I caused this to turn into eharmony, I should respond:- White- 33 yo- 5' 6" (FML) and 165 lb- Mrs. Clorox and I are DINKs (although by FBG standards, we are probably poor, LOL)- 7.5 yo golden retriever who I love more than most (and most of you know we lost our 10 yo in November, still hurts)- Told that I resemble my dad (as well as Ben Savage and Shane McMahon - I don't see the latter)- Love sports (you know which teams), travel (Caribbean), and music (hard rock is current preferred taste, I play the drums although not well anymore)- Have a good job and work like a dog but still not sure what I want to be when I grow up

Ok I'll play. I'm Dan. 35 years old, white, married for 11 years. Two kids (boy 7, girl 4) both mine ( I think  ) I've been told I look like Jeff Gordon. I live in Northern New Jersey and I've been a Postal employee for 14 years. I love to gamble, whether it's sports, cards, ponies at the meadowlands, whatever. I play ice hockey and used to bowl in competitive leagues until about 3 years ago. Decided to take a summer off and just haven't missed it enough to go back. I've settled down and lead a pretty boring, typical life, compared to my late teens-early 20's, but I'm pretty happy. My kids are awesome. Sounds cliche, but they say/do some funny ####

Here we have a legally Hispanic 48 year old, semi-retired. Spend time equally between the suburbs of Houston and our ranch in West Texas. Married to an amazing woman whom I can't begin to keep up with. Two equally amazing children who couldn't be more polar opposite of each other. One is a jock and one is a romantic genius. We have a 4 year old Australian Shepherd who thinks he is child three. I'm 6'4" barefoot and tipped the scales this morning (post holidays) at 260 lbs. I'm a gun owner, property rights advocate, immigration reformist, fiscally conservative, disgruntled Republican, hunter/gatherer.

I've been a Postal employee for 14 years.
That's a nice life. If I could be 18 years old again, I would try to become a mailman.Routine, mellow days. Decent pay. Good bennies and pension. What more do you need?
My FIL was a mailman...used to be so slow he had to work through his lunches to get his route done. Ended up getting fired. He went to "work" for 3 weeks afterwards and just hung out in his car because his wife would be hella pissed if she found out he got canned..She found out

Any job where you get to exercise and listen to music as you work is pretty awesome.
It really is a decent racket once you get through the first few years and get your own gig. The only thing that sucks out here is the weather can be awful at times. Well, that and management gets to you at times, but I guess that's true with any job where you answer to someone.Edit: Also working almost every Saturday gets old after a while.

I am not good looking...would probably say a 4.

Just want to again offer my sincere apologies for any fun I have ever poked your way, sir.
No need. I'm all bark. I was a bouncer for 8 years and I can't fight for shit.
You never mentioned you were training to become a cage fighter!!!(Napoleon Dynamite reference...)

I don't follow hockey that closely but this schedule is INSANE.
Hockey prop nerds> How big of a factor are B2B's for team/player props?
I haven't looked at the data closely, but it has to be a factor. Always should be taken into account on props, sides, and totals, IMO.
i would also assume the backup goalie will come into play a higher % with so many games crammed.
some teams will likely start their #2 more, but in a shortened season every game is much more important so they can't afford to give too many points away by starting an inferior backup that often. with a shorter year, I bet most coaches of contending teams try to ride their starters hard figuring that they won't get as worn down as they would over an 82-game season.player props in hockey seem tough to beat unless there's a big shift in the lines or power play units that you can anticipate ahead of time. SOG over/unders definitely seem like the way to go.

Me with terrified white kid6'1" 225I can't tell you my name because people who don't like me here could find me. I work for the Department of Defense, have for many years. I have worked in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq and a lot of other ####ty places. Also worked in great places like Moldova and South Africa and lived in Europe almost 15 years. Worked at Fox, Fox Sports Net and with Foxy Brown. I have two small terriers who think they are 100 pounds but are easy to transport, I've nailed a lot of curvy/heavy broads and I love the Detroit Tigers more than almost any human (not more than my dogs though). I have a Monsters.com resume that says "Invented Penis Pump" as the only work experience entry, and I'll watch a Tuesday night hockey game between the Senators and Islanders because I'm ill. I like to rap and wrap, people bring me rhymes and presents all the time. I live in Metro DC, PM me if you ever are in town and want to catch a Nats or O's game. :bye:BMJ>please provide more Chainsaw-esque stories
We seem to have a lot in common - rapping, wrapping, love for dogs, government work...say, how do you feel about jellyroosters?I get down to Baltimore/DC a few times a year. If we went to a game and someone took a pic, I'm guessing it might look something like the one you posted above.

My prior name got axed for two years because I commented on the attractiveness of Walter Payton's very adult daughter in a less than delicate fashion. I mean C'mon.

35 year-old white guy living with a 44 year-old doctor. I like me some older women. Two yapping, stupid dogs (chihuahua - Sancho and min-pin - Sophie) who are also the cutest, most loving things on earth. But very, very stupid. From Pittsburgh originally, now live in Phoenix. I would kill a kitten for a pint of Four Peaks pumpkin porter. EX-smoker (hooray!)Heavy drinker. Love the vodka. I'm a compliance supervisor at a major bank. It's every bit as exciting as it sounds. I'm every bit as hilarious in real life as I am here.

I'm pretty good at betting college basketball, ok at the ponies and I suck at everything else. For the 10th (or so) straight year I'll be heading to Vegas with some buddies for the first 4 days of March Madness. I love you people. I'm glad I started venturing in here.

All depends on what Nieminan does tonight. If he win's, it was another extremely good opening round. If he loses, we made a few bucks. Match will be on ESPN3 tonight for sure.

If you get down during baseball season let me know.
 Will do, GB. Remember that ridiculously amazing stretch of 75-80 degree weather we had last year in March? I was in the DC/Arlington area for the whole week for work. It was awesome - there was a buzz in the air and the energy was unreal. Life was good.

I don't have anything cool to say about myself.I work 60 hours a week, drink bourbon like it's water, listen to music, and take care of my extremely hyper active Jack Russell.Ex wife took my Westies in the divorce. ####### #####

There was a silly amount of scoring this past weekend, doubt we see that again this weekend.I'll take Harbaugh over Smith any day of the week. Smith has repeatedly showed he's a horrible in game manager.
http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcwest/category/_/name/san-francisco-49ersThose decisions were quite good ones in many cases. As a result, Nolan will be scheming to stop a 49ers offense featuring current or former Pro Bowl choices in left tackle Joe Staley, tight end Vernon Davis and running back Frank Gore, plus tight end Delanie Walker and, less probably, backup quarterback Alex Smith. Ten Nolan-era draft choices remain with the 49ers. Five have achieved Pro Bowl status: linebacker Patrick Willis and safety Dashon Goldson in addition to Staley, Davis and Gore. Cornerback Tarell Brown, coming off a strong game against Green Bay, and defensive end Ray McDonald are also Nolan-era draft choices in the 49ers' starting lineup. Smith isn't expected to play against the Falcons, but if he did, his falling out with Nolan over the coach's handling of a shoulder injury would instantly surface as a story line for revisiting. Nolan was also in charge when the 49ers used free agency or waivers to add defensive lineman Justin Smith and outside linebacker Ahmad Brooks. Both are starters. Smith is arguably the most important player on the 49ers' defense.---CK is still a young QB. Luck, RG3, CK, and Wilson are/were 25-7 at home. 13-16 on the road.

UCONN/Louisville under 132Kansas -10109-103-4 -3.3 units
I have the under 132 also :bye:
I booked the Under too.Buddy and I were discussing if there was any "value" in teasing it +8. What are your thoughts? u140.5We agree that we like teasing sides out of certain "ranges" we don't like, into ranges we do like. (i.e. Teasing out of 6ish, down to 1). But really what are 8 points when it comes to a total???

I like the Mavs tonight. Minnesota still without Kevin Love (1-4 Record without him) and last game of a 4 game Road trip. Got trounced by the Spurs last night. Wolves have Barrea, Kirilenko, Steimsma, Ridnour on the floor...-7 is a big number, but I'll take it.May be good teased?

I have the under 132 also :bye:
I booked the Under too.Buddy and I were discussing if there was any "value" in teasing it +8. What are your thoughts? u140.5We agree that we like teasing sides out of certain "ranges" we don't like, into ranges we do like. (i.e. Teasing out of 6ish, down to 1). But really what are 8 points when it comes to a total???
Teasing towards but not on to the zero can work, or get close to working, but with a total of 132 it's pretty borderline. Teasing the o/u I'd stay away from. u132 looks good on its own.

Often times, rather than teasing and having to include additional games (1 or 2 others)... ML shows to be value-able to parlay with 1 other side or total. For instance, I was discussing 3 team Teaser LOUISVILLE +1.5, UNDER 140.5, and OPEN. 5-to-6 payoutYou have a better payout of a PARLAY with LOUISVILLE ML and UNDER 132.5. 7-to-5 payout

Late 30's 6 ft low 300's and bald - You wouldn't think it being such a fat hass but I have been told on a few different occasions that I look like the rock.I'm happily married, have a 4 year old daughter, and recently added a 5 month old dachshund to our family after the loss of my 9 year old basset hound. The original jelly roster, I was flying up the corporate ladder at a bank when I decided I was miserable with all the stress. I was also sick and tired of the winters and high cost of living in the Boston area so in late 2011 Mrs Ref and I moved to West Palm Beach. I now work from home full time for the same bank albeit at a lower title.I love to play an angle - cards, sports Left right center, he stock market.... you name it and the stakes are reasonable I'm in.My goal in life right now is to lose a bunch of weight, maybe even with the help of a lap band, and to have my house completely paid off along with my daughters Fees/Tuition by March 15th of 2021.
