Daytime WNBA:

Indiana +4.5
i'd love to know the reasoning why they have these games during the day time. i get they probably can't compete with the other sports in the evening, but what do they get out of having their games in the middle of the day? how many fans can they get at these games?
I think it works only because it's the summer. Definitely not like the tradition of taking kids to a day baseball game, but it actually looks like the attendance was good today (10k) compared to the norm.

I forget who mentioned it, but WNBA is beatable. I waited way too long on Indiana, but couldn't resist for day action.

I wouldn't back Westbrook tonight. In his last three games he went 7IP with 0 strikeouts against Miami, gave up 6ER in 4IP at Oakland, and gave up 4ER in 6IP at Houston. He only strikes out 3.57 per 9IP with a WHIP of 1.35 and his ERA-FIP is -1.39.

And after listening to the game on the AM radio last night I know that StL just used their closer two nights in a row without wanting to, but that may just be confirmation bias on my part for including it here.

Anyway, the one thing I see is that Westbrook has good gb/fb (between 1.7 and 1.8 depending where you look) which he will need at Wrigley.

When I was up at like 3 this morning Cubs ML was moving back and forth between 104 and 110 pretty sharply. My first reaction was that it seemed way too low to be fighting back and forth like that versus the Cardinals. And on SBR today the consensus shows some reverse movement in favor of the Cubs.
I am going to piss my money away on the Cubs. GL on what you decide

I'm sorry but that was the most ridiculous display I have ever seen in the octagon last night. Still not over it. <_<
same here. i understand if Silva lost by decision after he got taken down all 5 rounds, and couldn't get a shot on Weidmann, but losing that way feels like we were all victims of a bad joke :sadbanana:
I just wish there had not been all the talk of the upset before the fight. It made all the pseudo-sharps with all their write-ups and upset predictions look like geniuses.
this should make you feel a little better. one of the best striking coaches in MMA lost money because he had it on Silva too (http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2013/7/11/4514198/ufc-162-anderson-silva-chris-weidman-mike-winkeljohn-interview). if there is a guy i would listen to about striking in MMA, Winklejohn would certainly be at the top.

Cards v. Cubs:

You do realize Jackson's era in June was 5.15.. and that is his best month thus far! Fair points about Westbrook and no way does Mujica pitch tonight, but still..... just my .02 G'Luck no matter how any of my fellow degens play this one.

Eta: Seattle blowing 2 separate 3 run leads :hot:

I pulled back early (was buying a house, bowed out of GooRoos service so basically missed the gravy train) so i still have a SB account that was never cut. I'm ready to make up for last year!

He is 6-0 versus Arizona in his career. And his team is 9-1 SU in his starts (includes two games in October).

Hypothetical: Someone wants to go to Vegas to put 20 grand on the Super Bowl or the Pro Bowl OVER (you'd probably need to spread $5K each @ 4 different books for that one due to fake-game limits, but I digress). You probably don't want to be going through security at airports with over $20K in cash, so what do you do? Give the sportsbook manager a personal check and wait for it to clear? Write a check to yourself and cash it at a local Vegas bank?

Arrange with my bank (Wells) to take it out from a local branch.

Super Bowl would be easy to bet that at one book....I'd call a few casinos and see who would treat me the best to give them the action. Then after you've settled on a casino wire the money to the casino.

2 things....

1. MTV challenge started last night...best show on tv

2. DRose is a bad bad man http://youtu.be/ll9s7twDbbQ I'm not even an nba fan but that video gets me excited for next season already

Freebie: Mexico -1/2 -247
 this always cracks me up, i remember talking the challenge a few times in here. My wife loves it a lot too, so it is an easy one for us to catch. What they need to do is set lines for the challenges at the end of the shows (i know used to be gauntlets, not sure anymore), and would love to see futures too. I am sure Wes and CT would be the favorites, probably -180, but i think i would be ballsy enough to take them with that number

If i had 20k to bet on the Super Bowl or Pro Bowl ever, i would be a very happy man. i would find a way to get it there, probably take it with me so i could live that one day as a big dog carrying 20k worth of cash on me.

Martinique +347 vs Panama
Oh, i guess i tailed on Martinique instead of Panama. Either way, i really hate betting soccer because of the dopey rule that if they end in a tie in regulation it counts as a loss. Glad hockey and the rest of the American sports haven't adopted that rule. i like that you can bet on a game ending regulation in a tie, but they don't penalize you for it. I wold rather lose the bet, then lose because a game ends tied up

Well, i guess i feel better :violin:

You get the whole $20K payout, and then declaring the winnings on your taxes ( ) is up to you?
My buddy won $7500 on a trifecta for one of the triple crown races this year at the track. When he cashed the ticket, they withheld the taxable amount from his winnings, and gave him the net. I'm thinking casino's have to be along the same lines, not sure what the threshold is off the top of my head.

I've never bet that much in Vegas but I'm guessing your filling out paperwork for taxes when betting that much. Even at 5k your prob filling out paperwork. Personally I'd bet it at bookmaker and watch from my couch.

Hate freaking draws.

Agree on Mexico.

When I used to bet at the dog track and Jai Alai many moons ago, I want to say it was a very low amount at which they would deduct taxes for you. $600 sounds familiar for some reason. At casinos, I believe it's $10K. But the easy way around that, of course, is to cash out $5K at two different cages.

There is a lot of "trust" involved with that procedure. Faceless people who accept your money in another country, and you have zero recourse if they feel like keeping it for some reason.

I worked as a bank teller one small town summer during high school when they really needed the help. They kind of rushed me through the process and set me up with my own window. One day a guy came through and I let him cash a 10k check after confirming his ID and account info. When it came time for me to zero out for the day my boss found out and he had to come back and fill out some forms.

I trust bookmaker more than any casino. DOJ takes over bookmakers website....it took them less than 24 hours to have a completely new site up taking bets with new processors.

Emily/Paula would probably be the play, with Robb and Derek a nice sleeper team. Sarah is always solid, but I don't like the Trischelle pairing unless they make out.

Any of you guys have a Heritage account? Got an email from them, so was looking around the site for the first time in awhile. 8 cent baseball lines are nice, and on par with the market prices for the most part.

Most intriguing to me is that they offer 3-way lines, like soccer/hockey in that it's a ML for first 9 innings, with a draw bet (extra innings) as a possible outcome. Kind of like the idea, and as far as pricing goes they typically give you 10-15 cents back on this option for the additional risk. Any of you guys ever play these? My interest is piqued.

After cashing an over, the Yankees are 1-12 O/U in their last 13
This trend is 1-3-1 since June 27. So now after the last 18 Yankee overs they are 2-15-1 O/U in next game. It's Kuroda vs the Twins and the Yanks vs a lefty tomorrow. Wind is forecast IN from left-center 11mph, but no word on the ump yet. And you got a 50% chance of rain.

Puig tweaked a hip last night. Mattingly said it isn't anything long-term, but he might sit out a game if he needs to. Tonight will be the Dodgers' 11th consecutive game and second game back from a long road trip. And, despite destroying the Rockies last night, they didn't land in LA until 4 o'clock in the morning yesterday. So even with Kershaw going, you still have a few question marks before dropping them into your parlay.

Very good book. They have a nice football prop selection too and fantastic customer service
