FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (3 Viewers)

Best SOG play on the board tonight looks like PHX O32.5, but it's a little juiced at -140.

also like these a little:

DAL U30.5 (-120)

NSH O30.5 (-130)

PIT O30.5 (-135)

STL U29.5 (-120)

tough to know what will happen in Sharks/Flames since it's such a lopsided matchup and could be a blowout early.
Nice call on phoenix

Don't normally tease at the SB, but at the moment, the only bet I'm comfortable with is a 6.5 point tease Seahawks/Under. If the late public moves the line to -3, I'd double the bet and make it a 7 point teaser. I don't know if I see this line moving to 3 though.

I'm a go Warriors because I spent like 20 minutes looking up all the dates MLK day fell on the last 10 years and cross-refrenced w/ ESPN and junk - so team total and either ATS or ML depending on where 5D lands in the next few minutes :action junkie:.

that sucks - just realized you are on the pacers also :sadbanana:

edit - I am just sticking with GS o99 - that way we can both win

I've been betting SEA +3 for awhile at SB.

Guess what Martin Luther King, I had a dream too. Except in my dream I was in my backyard. And a shark jumped out of my swimming pool. And it had braces.

I'd find a way to lose that one if I bet it at RB.

Nice work.
:lmao: Seriously, Kurt has to be making at well from the way it sounds in here. I think with everybody seemingly having the same story about RB it might be a sign
I bet 4 NBA plays today. Right now i'm 2-1 with 1 pending(3 posted plus Miami/Atl over 101.5 1h). One lost in OT by 3.5 points. I'll let you guess which bet I made at RB.

O/U 3-0-1 when the Pacers are dogged. And they covered 3 of those 4 against an average spread of 3.2 versus the Nets, Spurs, Thunder and Heat.
I'm really looking forward to watching this game as a NBA fan. Right now it's hard not to bet the Pacers whenever they're a dog, against anyone.

I'm thinking Hibbert will slow the GS bigs scoring and while perimeter defense of Indy is fast, I don't think they'll stop the splash bros. If those guys can hit a few 3s it should be a good game.
Pacers D is stout!

So you guys may remember that I mentioned some money fell out of nowhere in my sportsbook account? Well turns out I made a $250 deposit this summer and they just double booked it in my sportsbook account by accident (but not the CC). So I ended up making a bunch of bets this weekend and came out ahead. I then placed two big bets on the SB and had about $170 left over. I logged in about an hour ago and they swept the $170.

The poor sap on chat has no idea whats going on. I hope I get to keep the bets that are made.

@AdamSchefter: Soprano Renee Fleming will sing the National Anthem as part of Super Bowl XLVIII pregame festivities.

Ok men - what do we know about him/her. We need a time.

Some compelling stuff (From ESPN)

This will be the fifth time since the AFL and NFL merged that the league’s top-scoring offense played the top-scoring defense in the Super Bowl, the first since the Buffalo Bills(top offense) and New York Giants(top defense) met to close the 1990 season.

The top defensive team has won three of the previous four matchups. The lone win by the top-scoring team in those games was by the 1989 San Francisco 49ers against the Broncos.

The Elias Sports Bureau notes that this will be the second Super Bowl since the merger featuring the No. 1 total offense (yards gained) versus the No. 1 total defense (yards allowed). The first was Super Bowl XXXVII following the 2002 season, when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (No. 1 in yards allowed) beat the Oakland Raiders (No. 1 in yards gained).

This is the 19th time that a regular-season scoring champ has reached the Super Bowl. The previous 18 teams were 10-8 in the title game

This is the 16th time that the defense that allowed the fewest points in the NFL has made the Super Bowl since the merger. The previous 15 teams went 12-3 in those Super Bowls.
#1 O vs #1 D clearly favors the defense in past Superbowls.

Voting for the game also will be changed, as conference affiliation no longer will be considered in determining the All-Star selections. The two leading vote-getters will be named captains and will be assisted by Hall of Famers Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders and two NFL.com fantasy football champions in picking the two teams.

Among other changes:

• A two-minute warning will be added to the first and third quarters in addition to the traditional rule in the second and fourth quarters. Possession also will change hands after each quarter.

• Defenses will be allowed to play Cover 2 and press coverage. In the past, only man coverage had been allowed, except for goal-line situations.

• Changes will be made to the game clock during the two-minute warning, with the clock stopping if the offense doesn't gain at least 1 yard, in order to encourage offenses to try to gain yardage at the end of each quarter.

• In addition, the clock will start after an incomplete pass on the signal of the game referee except during the two-minute warnings and the final five minutes of the game.

• The game will use a 35-second/25-second play clock instead of the traditional 40-second/25-second clock.

• Also, the game clock will not stop on sacks of the quarterback, outside of the game's final two minutes.

Just perused a number of opera singers doing national anthems at sporting events (non-sporting events tend to be much shorter).

Here's the sampling:

Last two Pro Bowls combined for 96 and 100 points. Under/Over is a measly 82 points. Easy over with no one actually rushing the passers.
If you are bored, skim the last 10 or so pages where we've been discussing this. Most in here are on the under because the players know if they don't play the game hard, this game will be a memory.Check out the reports from the Pro Bowl this week. Peyton has been yelling at everyone there to "respect the game".
What is the point of bumping that?
Dodds prediction. What's it to you?
Let's bump a post about how easy the over is while almost everyone here has the under and live bet the under.Lol classy
have we ever all been so on the wrong side of a game?
My post was in response to this, ########. :bye:
Still no productive reason to do it
Great, thanks.
forgot about this cluster last year

Still some good research here.

What we got in Gatoriade colors?

From a good freind of mine who is way into music..... And a funny *******.

Okay, if the line is under 10 minutes, take the over. I just listened to this broad sing Amazing Grace and Somewhere Over the Rainbow and it was like watching Terry Schiavo run the 40. Both songs were about 6 months long.

On a side note, Im about as cultured as a sweatsock, so I dont appreciate opera at allbut this chick SUCKS. Id rather hear the National Anthem as a duet between Fred Durst and Gerardo.

sportsbetting.ag just gave me 50% freeplay on a 2k deposit, 6x rollover.

wagerweb gave me 200% on a $1000 deposit...35x rollover which sucks but I should be able to clear it because of college basketball

Another interesting stats for those thinking teaser -

The Seahawks haven't lost a game by more than 7 points since Nov 6, 2011

So I'm done with the stupid local site cause all I do is pay every week and make money on the others. I owe 250 right now and have 40 on free plays I can spli up. Was think about 3 differnt parlays. What we got?

Any thoughts in this crew? How physical they let the secondary get is a huge factor in this game

Referee Terry McAulay, who was the referee for two previous Super Bowls, will lead the seven-man crew of game officials selected to work Super Bowl XLVIII Sunday, February 2 at MetLife Stadium, the NFL announced today.

The other members of the Super Bowl XLVIII officiating crew are Carl Paganelli (umpire), Jim Mello (head linesman), Tom Symonette (line judge), Scott Steenson (field judge), Dave Wyant (side judge) and Steve Freeman (back judge). The Super Bowl XLVIII officiating crew collectively has 110 years of NFL officiating experience and 76 combined playoff game assignments.

The Seahawks led the league with 13 pass interference penalties in 2013. They also had 10 defensive holding calls.
Relative Penalties and Penalty yards per game for this crew.

McAulay -0.91 -7.68

Paganelli -0.3 1.27

Mello -1.29 -14.27

Symonette 0.66 16.66

Steenson -0.66 -0.87

Wyant 1.34 13.13

Freeman 0.72 7.66

McAulay looks favorable for the Seahawks but the key refs will be Steenson, Wyant and Freeman. The relative stat for yards is a little skewed for the judges making the pass interference calls but still, Wyant would have me somewhat worried as the side judge.

Edit:

Steenson reffed on Coleman's Ref squad which going into 2013 was 3rd highest penalty calling crew in the NFL and the most likely to call pass interference.

Wyant split time previously with both Colemand and Triplette. Triplette's squad called the most penalties and was the 2nd most liketly to call pass interference.

Freeman was also on Triplette's squad.

That's a tough secondary crew for a physical team like the Seahawks. I'm sure the NFL doesn't want a Superbowl dominated by pass interference calls but that has me concerned.

Anthem's going to go long, but you gotta figure the books are going to come out with a pretty high line too. With everyone knowing and thinking opera singers are going to take forever, maybe she's going to tailor it to the event and keep it relatively short.

Seattle always defers, right?

Dang, I think both teams defer most/all of the time.
I'd look at Denver's deferral rate on the road. At home they are going to defer because every kickoff in Denver is through the endzone for a touchback. Deferring likely offers a better chance at starting field position in that scenario.
