FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (9 Viewers)

Alright MP, I see you in the thread. I have to say i am curious to know your thoughts on the SB, and if there are any props in particular that stick out to you.

Wait A Minute Sally 2H Value Plays 1-2 $-100

Butler/Providence 2nd Half Over 70 110/100
Well F providence. If this covers we will get a little lucky. These idiots are sitting on the ball until like 1 second left on the shot clock.
I'm right next door. Want me to go knock some sense into them?
If we didn't get a foot of snow here, i would come join you. I think the 2 of us could take down at least 2/3 of their team. Teach these young bucks a thing or 2

It was 72 today here. Brrr.

:finger:

The highways were pure SLUSH today. Everyone driving 15 mph behind the salt trucks. Good times.

lol...oof.

At least you don't have all the 90 year old snowbirds clogging up the highway. Its the worst.

I had a productive snow day. Got a new Macbook, set-up printers and email and customized the format. Shoveled snow three times, took my dogs for a walk and spent four hours on campaign notifications for my good friend who is running for Congress.

Wings/Blackhawks U 5.5 -110 tomorrow

I have to have a real estate based business idea. Any ideas? I am thinking of something like HomeAway and the companies that have popped up in the Super Bowl host cities. I am going to call them all tomorrow and see how they make their $. How does HomeAway make $ and how do these other companies make $ without charging comission. Maybe act as a consierge to these VIP travelers who I hook-up w/ property owners.

Seahawks -5½ 100/244

In the association I teased the Heat, Nets, and Thunder by 4.5 to get bet 10 to win 19.

Heat coming home off a loss, Nets playing will of late, and the Thunder facing a Trailblazer team that got blown out and is on a B2B.
Woot woot!
Good job, but you'll go broke in the long run teasing NBA games.
+1. Betting the NBA is insanely difficult to begin with, start teasing games and you (anyone) is drawing dead.

####ed out of my Den -1.5 bet and took some Seattle +3, for an +EV but not devastatingly so arb.

Blues - Total Shots on Goal

Under 27.5 (-130)

This one is like stealing.
I missed it earlier, but the Avs over 31.5 isn;t like stealing... it is stealing. Of course it's all the way up to -175 now but frankly I think it's a good bet all the way up to like -300.

Toronto has given up over 34.5 shots in 9 of the last 10 road games and Colorado likes to shoot. I have the line around 36.5 and I still wouldn't bet the under 36.5.
:bowtie:

I'm not taking much of a stand on this game yet and keep playing both sides. Chalk parlays with the DEN ML and then I'm playing SEA +3 or teased up to 10 if possible. Going to leave myself a big fat middle opportunity I guess. Hope the game is close at least.

What are you parlaying the DEN ML with for example?

Can you break this down with a few examples. I'm stoopid.

Damn! I thought it was always this easy. :)

I only do this when I am on a hot streak. It worked out this time. It usually doesn't.

Who here has been to Ireland?

Looking at a guided tour for a week in June. I picked the guided tour (CIE) because you stay and eat like a king for a lot less than you would have spent if you just booked hotels across the country on your own (I think they are all 4 star accommodations).

Pretty standard stuff, Blarney Stone, Cliffs of Moher, 2 nights in Shannon, 2 nights in Dublin, etc etc.

It's a really good deal, but I am concerned about being trapped on a bus for the better part of 7 days with 47 other people I don't know. I don't even like people that much - and I hate socializing.

Thoughts?

Would you rather do a week in Ireland or a Mediterranean Cruise from Greece to Spain (with stops in between)?

I've never been to Europe but I would like to go for my birthday in June.

I know - start a new thread...I hate starting threads. I only like socializing with you degens.

Sports book still has odds on winning the Aussie Open from 2 days ago ???

Andy Murray
+800

David Ferrer
+4000

Grigor Dimitrov
+7000

Novak Djokovic
-150

Rafael Nadal
+240

Roger Federer
+1000

Stanislas Wawrinka
+3000

Tomas Berdych
+3000
Half of these guys are eliminated. I doubt the bet stands, but I'm going to try and take more Federer. That's the same price he was pre-tournament

I like Ireland, the people are friendly but the food sucks.

I don't like cruises or Greeks, if that helps you any. Spain in June would be a lot of fun, Valencia, Barcelona and Maiorca have a lot of chicks looking to get plowed around then.

Based on what I know about you, I'd go to the Baltics. You can go to those three countries, and Russia and Finland also. Stay in Talin, get a Russian visa and go to St Pete. Take ferry to Stockholm, rent a car and go to Riga. It's much less expensive than Ireland and you'll have ten times more fun.

Estonia has the tallest women in Europe, maybe start an all female Gus Macker tournament and clean up on tremendous scraps.

I would guess this will pretty much guarantee them cutting your limits. You also might have trouble cashing out if you make a bet like this. Just an FYI.

they already cut my limits so I don't care what happens there really. when I went to bet it though, I see the odds have been updated already:

Nadal -125

Federer +200

Wawrinka +450

Berdych +1200

Never been to Ireland nor have I done a Med Cruise. If I had to pick I'd take the Med Cruise, if nothing less because of the way you are approaching the Ireland vacation. In my experience people who dont like to cruise want to go someplace and take it all in, and I can't argue with that. If you were to say I'm going to Ireland and I'm spending 4 days in Dublin and 4 days in Cork I'd say the choice was more of a coin flip depending on taste. The way you sound like you are going to approach the trip is a cruise concept but on a bus. I think of it this way. Would I rather spend hours on a greyhound bus driving around one country going from town to town seeing a lot of the same stuff -or- would I rather be on a boat with drinking, gambling, food and my very own room while I'm traveling and then go to different countries and see a lot more interesting attractions (I'm guessing Greece Acropolis, Rome Coliseum, Naples Pompeii, Barcelona The Basilica, Normandy Normandy..... etc...)

Personally it's a slam dunk to me.

Problem with buses is your cloths start smelling like the feet of the people around you at some point. I like day tours/bus rides in Europe just fine, stuff that drags out over a week or more is just too much IMO. Seems like there are a lot of wife swappers in those tour groups though if you like that kind of thing.

Rental car or train+taxis best way to see Europe.

I've been to Amsterdam twice and had the time of my life both times, although the joke in my family goes I got so messed up the second time I ended up buying an engagement ring (true story). If someone on day 3 said to me it's time to get on a bus and drive to France for X amount of hours I would have been bummed out. At least on a boat I could have gone to my room cracked open some beers and waived good bye from my balcony, take a shower go get some food play some poker and then fall asleep and do it all over again when I wake up at the next port.

Ireland isn't that big though. The drives can't be too long.

I'm thinking of winging it and renting a car but I'm a little worried with no navigator, driving on the left and the amount of back country roads that I'll get lost and never be heard from again.

And again, the draw with the guided tour is, I'll spend far less on food and upscale hotels than I would if I just booked them on my own. Lotsa decisions. I have almost 7 trips planned this year. Maybe I'll cancel them and do 2 euro vacations. Austin for annual golf trip with my grade school friends. Vegas with a good bud for March madness. Miami for work twice (at least I don't have to pay for those). Outer Banks in August for a bachelor party. St. Croix for a wedding and home to Rhode Island for a wedding.

I just want to gamble and drink and sit on my couch. #### people getting married

God bless my Amex having triple rewards for booking travel. Too bad I didn't get triple rewards at the Xfinity Center buying a gaggle of South Philly broads drinks all night.

So, reading the "Superbowl could move" thread, if I put my bets in this weekend and the game date changes, do bets placed before the game date change stand as-is, or are they no-action until new lines come out? I just checked and couldn't find much info on this on Google, and am putting strong consideration into teasing the under with the Seahawks, even before the weather is considered.

As Knish said to Mike in Rounders, I was showing you the playbook I put together off my own beats.

"Oh my God, they are gonna let me swing 7 points in an NBA game? I'M RICH!!!"

That lasted about two nights.

Alright MP, I see you in the thread. I have to say i am curious to know your thoughts on the SB, and if there are any props in particular that stick out to you.
Nothing really up yet obviously, but props should be interesting this year for a few reasons. Get a juggernaut offense vs. juggernaut defense. Total at 47, Denver TT lined around 25, they haven't been 30 at all this year I don't believe. We will get great value betting all Denver individual player NO TD. They are usually lined around even for all their stars - D. Thomas, J. Thomas, Welker, Moreno, Decker. Decker and JT not around even but close. Do the math and that's 5 guys, where they are only expected to score 3 TDs. That's not even including a TD vulture like Tamme/Ball taking one or someone scoring multiple times.

I have only capped punters/returners so far, number wise. Seattle long punt return should be good, no TB either punter will be good.

If we get any kickoff/touchback props may be interesting with the weather. Under 1 fg -300 always sharp bet. Yes 3 unanswered scores, under 1.5 short td, under 2.5 players to throw a pass -300 and better.

I am pro-Seattle but not huge. Think the value is there, considering the line was pk between these 2 teams going into last weekend's game. Seattle looked average beating the best team left (SF) and Denver looked very good beating a Pats team with Edelman as their top WR, losing Talib early, and losing tons of defensive guys.

Sherman will not match up with D. Thomas in this game like Talib did, so Thomas numbers may be lower allowing us to play overs. Manning under's will be obvious to play especially if you like Seattle. He's had superhuman stats the this year, under 3 TDs -150 will be good. Going back to the fact they are only expected to score 3 TDs.

That's about it for now, should be a good game. Sucks this is the last football game of the year.

The gist is that the team total is sharp, whereas the props are going to be pretty square. Denver is only going to score so many points, so there's a lot of value in fading DEN offensive players.

Thanks DD - #### Ireland (for now)

I took DrD's advice and booked this:

http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/cruiseDetails/itinerary.do?packageCode=LG07U036

Yeah - it's a cruise and they are corny and stupid most of the time, but it hits all the cities Dr D mentioned I should and I'm travelling alone (I'm sure there will be single ladies on the ship to entertain myself - as well as gambling). So this seemed like a safer option.

Done.
boat leaves each city at like 5pm? that doesn't sound like fun.

If anyone wants to get into a squares pool...Guster (FBG) is running one. He's run multiple pools over the years and is honest and pays out accordingly. $25/square. Payout is $500/$500/$500/$1000 (if it goes to OT that $1000 is split $500 4q/$500 OT). Payment via paypal (please pay as gift so he doesn't eat the fee)

here's the latest update

GMTAN Super Bowl Squares update: "only" 52 squares remaining
