I quit going to the Marlins game after they got rid of him for Maybin and Miller-dealing the modern day Babe Ruth....in fact I can't recall a worse trade in retrospect in the MLB (but i'm a prisoner of the moment). He was absolutely worth $300MM (if any baseball player is) 10 years ago....but now? When's the last time a huge contract for a 30+ y.o. has paid off? Ever happened?

The contract he's on now is a bargain, 8/152. But he signed that when he was what, 25? Ages 25 to 33 as one of the highest paid hitters in baseball, that's fine.

This, man, I dunno. Look at how quickly Pujols hit the skids. I'm not sure if they shouldn't have taken their chances with him hitting the open market.
