FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (14 Viewers)

EARTH CITY, Mo. -- It's not quite Warren Buffett and his billion dollar prize for a perfect NCAA tournament bracket but the St. Louis Rams are offering a lucrative reward for a guessing game of their own.

The Rams announced Monday afternoon that any person who can guess their 2014 schedule with 100 percent accuracy wins $100,000. To win the prize, the participant must correctly hit on all facets of the schedule, including each game's opponent, location, the exact date of the game and guess the team's bye week.

In other words, it's not as simple as simply guessing which team the Rams will play in a given week.

With so many moving parts, like predicting which games might fall on a Thursday or Monday night, the contest has better odds than something as extensive as the NCAA tournament but still figures to offer longshot odds, at best.

In the even more unlikely event that more than one person accurately predicts the schedule, the Rams will hold a trivia contest as a tiebreaker. The contest is limited to those 18 or older with a limit of one entry per person. Those that want to participate can enter at the team's website, stlouisrams.com/guessourgames.

Although the NFL has yet to reveal when it will announce this year's regular-season schedule, it's expected to come sometime next week. The Rams set a deadline of April 21 at 5:59 ET for entries.

"In anticipation of the Rams 2014 regular season schedule release, we are excited to offer fans the unique opportunity to win $100,000," Rams vice president of marketing Brian Killingsworth said in a statement. "We challenge our fans to accurately predict all 17 weeks of the team's regular season schedule and win the cash prize."

Almost impossible, but it's free.

Haralabos on the BS report. Some notes for the playoffs:

-He thinks the Bulls or Nets vs. the Heat wouldn't be an automatic advance for Miami. He noted that the Nets have a lot of success against Miami b/c Miami's so good against the pick and roll and blitzing it, and the Nets hardly pnr at all. Bulls/Heat would be a "war."

-Pacers point diff. since the ASB is something like -5.0 (around what the Celtics are), and that they're not the kind of team that can "flip the switch" the way Miami can.

-Worst three coaches on playoff teams are Joerger, Jackson and Brooks. "The very very bottom."

Bunch of other good stuff, def. worth a listen.
The heat, whether or not they want to admit it, very much agree with the assessment. They'll take their chances with Indy in 6 vs bulls/nets and then Indy. The Heat are not better than last year, only older. Still I would have them as a favorite vs atl/tor/Indy and okc if they made it out of the west. They'd have hc vs chi/nj, probably like Miami in either ecf if Indy goes down. Seems intentional that Miami pumped the breaks. very smart me thinks.

San Antonio will beat Miami in 6 if they meet in the finals IMHO and I'm the biggest heat goober around.

Thanks for the heads up on the simmons report.

Beckett has started twice for the Dodgers versus SF and Lincecum opposed and outpitched him both times. Tim's last two starts were against the Diamondbacks and have given him some value coming into this game. The Diamondbacks, especially Goldschmidt, just own him for some reason. But Lincecum is 8-2 SU at AT&T versus the Dodgers and 3-0 SU L3 with a 1.77 ERA. The Dodgers went 3-6 SU at AT&T with a .262 batting average last year, and since 2010 the Dodgers have lost the most games at AT&T Park (21) than they have any other opponent ballpark. They also own a .231 BA there during that same time. Coincidentally, but not related to the outcome of this game, they have also lost 21 games versus the Giants at Dodger Stadium since 2010, which is also the most versus any team since then.

The Dodgers just got done scoring a crapload of runs at Chase Field, where they are 25-17 SU since 2010. You would think that would have reduced their value going into this game, but they opened as a pretty appealing underdog, and according to SI have received 77% of the action. I'm licking my chops to fade the public, but am going to wait until tomorrow to see if I can get the dog price on the Giants. I lean under for the game, and might do the under on the LA team total if they offer a good number. Cheers fellas.

Lebron is still evolving. His eff is amazing. In the last few years he's developed a post game and improved his long range shot (based on watching-not statistically backed necessarily). While his shooting will likely not be like Kobe or Jordan, I think his past prime game will translate well. His vision and supreme intelligence of the game will allow 6-8 more years of primeish production (obviously a wild ### guess on my part). Dwade is more like iverson, one day it'll just be gone. Bosh has also developed a nice outside shot. I'd be surprised if they leave Miami this year. Next year I could see it possibly but the situation would have to be better than a family type organization with pat riley running it (if he retires?) and there was another landing spot that could yield championships immediately. Where could Lebron go that's better than Miami this yr? They'll reload to replace battier(Vince carter?) and figure out chalmers but I think they take the option. And I desperately want them to, so there's that.

It's saw ya'll!

Thanks for them As. Shoulda listened to you on the Sunday unda too but hey, whatever.

Blood moon tonight. Energize your crystals.

Trying out my new Blu-Ray player with Man on Fire. "I'll just watch until the kidnapping scene and finish it tomorrow night, because I don't want to pay for this at work tomorrow."

You never stop watching at the kidnapping scene.

Last week I was trying to figure out the query language to find this out. I couldn't nail it down, but this dude says that the pitcher gains the upper hand when facing the same opponent within a short span of time. link

I know recently Lynn and Bailey went head to head in back to back starts and both rocked the 2nd time out.

Giants games are 11-2 to the over this year but I'm not afraid. The Dodgers eclipsed four runs twice in nine games at AT&T last year, and only seven times L36 at AT&T since 2010.

Giants 210/200

Dodgers u4 120/100

Will there be a run scored in the 1st inning? - Boston vs White Sox

NO

-120

I'm 2-1 on these to date.

Boston has yet to score a 1st inning run

Chicago ranks 27th scoring in the 1st 15% of the time.

Going back to the well on this one

Pit and Cin rank 24 and 29 despite blowing up yesterday for 2 and 1 runs in yesterday's 1st.

Will there be a run scored in the 1st inning? - Pittsburgh vs Cincinnati

NO

-140

As a Warriors :homer: , I sadly agree with this. If Jordan REB props are offered the over should be considered if they aren't set astronomically high. GS will have no one to defend the paint.

i know shelby miller has been bad and estrada has been good. but i am not sold on estrada and his tendency to give up the long ball. i say today he reverts back to old habits.

Ronaldo - 28 (inj.)

Costa - 26 (inj., but supposedly back for next week)

Messi - 25
How many games left?
Five.

Ronaldo could miss the rest of the La Liga season, but fending off Messi is not a given.
at least he scored when he got hurt

Yep, he took a gnarly gash on his leg when he slid into the goalpost. Says he'll be OK for Friday though, guess it was just a flesh wound.

Just got the call from Pirelli. Possibly the most profane sales call I've ever heard. :lmao:
seriously? awesome
At one point he said that their slate of bets wouldn't leave me feeling like "a kid in Sandusky's shower" or something like that. :lmao:

Tried to sell me on a $250-week package, and told him I just wanted the free pick. He says he's gonna call back, but that it was a "risky" play. Wouldn't you make your first bet your giving someone for free a good one?

Operation FADE SHITTY PHIL HUGHES is in effect tonight.

Of course, he looks like Tom Seaver because the Jays are all bundled up. Evidently, they no likey the cold! :sadbanana:
