FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (3 Viewers)

Miracle game was in the US and there was the whole Cold War background plus Russia was a team of pros who played together for years while the US was a team of college kids who were together for a couple months. Not sure anything could compare regardless of the odds.
Can we start a war in 3 days?
With Ghana? I'm sure that's possible, we've got cruise missiles and drones and ####.
I don't work over there anymore unfortunately.

Despite my differences with Doctor Detroit ( aside from a shared view of the excellence of Terriers and Boss as TV shows and some baseball views) and his insistence that i am, in fact, "disturbed"), I think after time and observation, I have a good understanding of him in general.

You've been hinting and edging on it for a while now. Tell us all about your new job. Why does it require notification of police shootings. Did you relocate in proximity to the AO of this incident? What is the risk factor of this new job of yours for situations like this?

Do you like this new job?

Is it a job or does it have career potential?

How did you get his job? ( from the telephone interview?)

Do you like the people you work with?

Does it work well with your commute and other issues regarding work and quality of life balance?

How would you compare it to your last job?

Piece of unsolicited advice, grain of salt accordingly, esp from a "disturbed" person like me clearly, if you want to talk about something in your life, talk about it. You've got 60K plus posts here, it's not like anyone is going to stop you or they would have long before now. The easiest way to let go of trepidation is to accept the things that we do is rarely ever about other people.

Bitter irony of this life, and become more true with age, the people that we often dislike the most are people that reflect things about ourselves. Something to consider when you decide how despicable my "self loathing" seems to be for you.

Speak up about you if you want, it's fine. Nothing wrong with staying close to your favorite subject.

538 led me true with the FFAWT quarters pool, so I feel like I'm betting house money on Brazil +310 to take it down, who they have at 45% to win. It's a real square bet, but I can get out of my mind how badly they sunned Spain in the Confed Cup last year, both of which will have essentially the same teams.

That said: Weird #### happens in soccer. Bad goals, controversial penalty kicks, teams bunker down and beat far superior teams on fluky goals (hi Chelsea B team).

And that said, Argentina also has a very favorable draw, and a very reasonable travel schedule. No Manaus, lots of games in the south so they'll feel more at home and not have any real bad weather to worry about. I also think their defense is somewhat underrated.

I don't like Spain, and I don't like Germany. I don't see this being the year that a European team captures a WC on South American soil.

So yeah, Brazil +310 for me, and I sprinkled a little on Uruguay, Colombia and Chile as well.

Speaking of square.... Cards and Wainwright -150 tomorrow. Soak all of this in:

1) Wainwright has gone 5-2 with a 1.68 ERA over eight road starts, yielding two runs or fewer in all but one of them.

2) The Rays have not scored in 19 consecutive innings, and could put nothing together offensively today - at home - against Seattle's HIDEOUS starter Erasmo Ramirez.

3) Rays starter Jake Odorizzi (2-6, 5.31) is 0-3 with a 6.16 ERA in his last four starts. The right-hander was particularly bad in losing to Boston and Miami in the last two, allowing nine runs and 13 hits in 8 1/3 innings.

4) TB has lost 12 of 13, they have the worst record in the majors, and St. Louis had Monday off.

If this is a square bet, then I'm square. Cards $1,500 to win $1,000.

Thanks! I think I'll just wrap this up with the Heat ML.

I get too excited and forget not to play favorites overnight.

If you like the favorite -- wait. If you like the dog, play it the night before. Oh well, if this goes as I expect, it won't matter anyway.

Went to a Royals game last week and you gamblers turned me onto a winner so let's try this again. About to head over to the Rockies game...FEED ME.
On the Rox
Home dogs lacking public support off a loss. :moneybag:

Minor's better than Nicasio, but Coors is the great leveler. And the Rocks crush lefties, whereas the Braves are pretty lousy against righties.
This is what I was gonna go on; some value. And I enjoy taking the home team. That other stuff is a bonus -- I used to love righty/lefty stats.

Also, F the Braves.

Took Portugal -190 to beat Ireland tonight

CR is playing and Portugal is in full tuneup. Ireland sucks. They got beat my Serbia and Turkey at home.

This one is in the USA

This guy has a no-hitter through 4. Did anyone expect him NOT to have a no-hitter through 4? :coffee:

Wainwright leaves the game after throwing only 92 pitches through 7.

The next dooshbag comes in and promptly puts the first two Rays on base. Gee, I wonder how this will end.

RED BIRDS!!!

:banned:

The Rays have not scored a run in the last 28 innings.

The Cardinals have not allowed a run in the last 27 innings.
