FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (5 Viewers)

I posted this question in the WC thread, but here is probably better.

Can anyone explain the following question related to soccer betting?

What do the lines +/- 1/4, 1/2 or 3/4 mean?

For example: the money line (regulation and stoppage only) on Columbia is -101. Columbia -1/2 (again, reg + stoppage only) is also -101 which makes sense.

However, Costa Rica money line is +155 but Costa Rica -1/4 is +115.

What does -1/4 mean?
Soccer can be fun and exciting to wager on. For example, in MLS soccer if you bet the Red Bulls +2, you are “getting” 2 goals. So if the Red Bulls win the game, draw or lose by 1 goal, you win. If they lose by 3 goals, you lose the bet. :( If they lose by exactly 2 goals the bet is a push, and you get your money back! :excited:

The “point spread” can be any number that a sportsbook thinks will attract an even number of bets on each side. The line can be a whole number like 1 or 2, or a half a number like ½ or 1½.

You will have to pay a price (or odds) to bet on the spread. For example, if the price is -110, this means that you would have to bet $110 to win $100, but you don’t have to bet $110. You can bet any amount you want! :excited:
It's like i'm watching myself post on someone elses account. Saw for pres ya'll!

Heading to Las Vegas for a buddy weekend in late September. Recommendations for a sports book to hang out, small-time bet, drink and eat on an NFL Sunday? TIA

We stayed at TI last time I was there and it's a fairly small sportsbook. Not super crowded and you can get a spot with a private tv as well as the big screens

In sure there's better but if you want low key it might be up your alley

Bloody Mary was weak though and I can't speak for food

free drinks? probably LVH, gonna need drink coupons most every where else. Free drinks (just show a betting slip) in the sportsbook, but they also have the theatre open, i think $2 beers. You'll have to get there a few hrs before kickoff to get a seat in the sportsbook. Drink service is OK, depends how busy. Might want to bring a small cooler just in case

It really is easier to mention the places you would prefer not to go and frankly there aren't many of them.

That's good to know. They don't frown on bringing in a cooler? In that case it would probably boil down to ability to get seats for the day and good, reasonably priced food. God I'm old.

RN - have you ever seen the movie Don Jon?
Watched it with the wife...AWKWARD!
Why?
Watching it with the wife right now. No issues.
Except you're busy typing away on your phone in the middle of movie date night.
Actually I'm on a laptop.
And we're pausing every 3 minutes because one kid or the other needs something. This is not exactly date night.

So, Colombia 1H/2H +200, ballsy play, any takers?

I am pondering this one. Thinking Colombia wins, and it's obvious why that's 2/1, it's a total domination result. Don't want to lay -110 with just Draw in play. Do we play to win 1U on Colombia both win and draw in regulation to scratch out/"lock in" profit assuming they're not losing?

I don't see Uruguay upsetting here.

hmm, didn't realize the UFC starts in 45 minutes. Taking a bunch of dogs for this New Zealand card and hoping for the best:

Magny -280 (ok, not a dog, but he should dominate here)

Rhodes +205

Hioki +175

Palalei +165

I'm playing Colombia -114 90 minutes.

Without Suarez, Uruguay could have problems scoring.

I think that 1H/2H play is overthinking it . I think Colombia wins but a nil-nil halftime score is at least as likely as a regulation draw IMO..

This is dumb but I'm taking a swing at Melo to the Lakers at +1500. He's got a house there, his wife is in "entertainment" I guess, seems like he could get rubed into trying to make this work with Koab.

3-game parlay.

Jun 28 SOC [26106] COLOMBIA +110 Jun 29 SOC [26110] NETHERLANDS +112 Jun 29 SOC [26114] COSTA RICA +148 Risking 100 USD To Win 1004 USD

ML bets. i.e. Game must be decided in regulation or extra time.

Looking to double up winnings from Columbia on Netherlands. I also like the over in that game and Costa Rica:

Netherlands -105 for 3 units.

Netherlands o2.5 for 1 unit.

Costa Rica +125 for 1 unit.
