The Vietnamese dude I go to business school with has called every match bro. It is amazing. He doesn't even play sports because his parents didn't let him do contact sports as a kid. He called a Germany/Argentina final. I know, cool story and whatnot, but it has been nuts. Dude is like the ping-pong champion though. And he kills it in marketing.

He liked the Broncos in the Super Bowl. We had a little chat back in January about betting 110 to win 100 and then he asked me if I knew what a parlay was. He is a statistics dude for sure so we talked about how two-team parlays paid out for a little bit. I showed him a YouTube vid on operant conditioning and he told me about convenience store patrons with scratch-off addictions. "Don't be the pigeon" was the conclusion we both agreed on. Anyway, I congratulated him just now on both of his teams making the final. He was like yeah, it's all good but I think Argentina is the champion. I think he wants Germany to win. I told him the risk/reward numbers and that Germany was the favorite, but he personally thinks Argentina in a close call. If you guys decide Argentina I'd be down for that. I'll bet one to win 1.3 in a coin flip any day.

 
My thoughts on the game sunday. Keep in mind, i never played soccer, just bet on it. I've watched alot of the world cup. It seems to me, that Germany was the strongest team the whole tourney. They played down to their opponents level on two occassions(one game in particular against usa). Other than that, they had their way. Somebody with more knowledge than me about the game, pointed out that alot of these guys play together on the same team in the German league (whatever its called, the league bayern munich dominated). He said that wasn't the case with the Argentina squad. Again, I have no proof of my own, just going by what he is saying so correct me if I'm wrong about that. By his knowledge, i'm betting on the team that is more familiar with each other, but i did this before they played and beat Brazil to win it all and got much better numbers. At these prices, it doesn't seem to have alot of value. Another guy i talked to(english bartender) who knows the Premier league up and down, said he likes the Argentines. So i'm conflicted on locking in profits or letting it roll on the Krauts. Probably standing pat.

I took the Broncos -2.5 biggest bet I've ever made life to date because I was in Vegas the weekend before, hammered, and wanted to be a big shot. I still get :X thinking about that nightmare. I check the thread before any large-ish bet now, thread Super Bowl/anything consensus generally rules.

I think both dogs ML locks in at least a little profit this weekend, but I'm no soccer expert. What do you good folks think?

i dunno it seems too easy what I am doing so I am a bit leery. There is some high juice in there too so probably need to hit 60% Half are from sportsbetting.ag and half from Bovada. And I can usually find a half a "pt" difference between the two sites in my favor

Had 9-9 day then 14-7 day 2-2 day and then today which is 10-1 today as of now

Back to back weeks getting cold decked and my poker career might be over.

First of all. This was the craziest table I've ever sat at. 3 hands before my bust there was a 12000 dollar pot between the 2 big stacks and pair of tens beat a pair of 3s. A 2-5 table!.

Railbirding by much of the folks there with security and all the pit bosses watching

Talking 5 of the craziest players I've ever played with everyone deep stacked.

I'm sitting on 1200.

A 5 in the button. Raise to 35 pre flop.

Loose crazy guy raises to 60.

Flop is 5 5 7 rainbow.

He bets 175, I raise to 260.

Turn is a J.

He bets 350 and I come over the top all in.

Flop is a 9. I turn over my set with an ace kicker, he flips over POCKET NINES.

I'm so done with ####### poker.

 
That frustration sounds all-too-familiar. Been there a million times. :(

Get some sleep and reconsider it tomorrow. You're too good at poker to call it quits. Sometimes the cards don't go your way.

 
I'm already over it. Man that was a fun session of poker. I'm playing a good 20 hours a week again and never had a funner time than tonight. Playing poker with lunatics is fun.

Happy to hear it. I don't think you mis played that hand at all. You are looking at 7-7, J-J and 9-9 that beat you realistically. 7-7 you curse the poker God and you move on. J-J or 9-9 just sucks. Folding just isn't an option there esp at this table. I mean MAYBE you dont shove on the end sand save $600, but you sure in hell are calling the $350.

I'm running very bad myself GB. I never seem to run well in the summer, you can set your clock to it.
