FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (5 Viewers)

From RJ Bell twitter

@RJinVegas: ICYMI: When McIlroy was 15, his dad bet $680 to win $340,000 that Rory would win British Open before age 26. This year was his last chance.

So it sure seems like the pitching and k's are easier. I having been playing less batters, and will continue that trend (i think). Sure seems like record is a lot better on the pitchers than hitters

AL road fave was 0-4 SU in 2013 versus the D-Backs at Chase against an average line of -123. However Kluber and the Indians went into Chase and won 6-1 against a line of -125 on Jun 25. And the AL road fave is 19-10 SU (.655) at Chase since 2004. Avg line -134.

Tigers -132

The Blue Jays are 7-2 SU in Lackey's starts against them against an average line of 109. They scored an average of 7.1 ±2.4 runs per game in those nine games. Hutch has faced the Red Sox twice and the Blue Jays won both times. Hutch allowed 2 runs on 11 hits in 12.2 IP versus the Red Sox in those two games. The runs came on two solo-shot HRs by Kelly Shoppach and Shane Victorino, both of which don't look like they will be in the lineup tonight. Ortiz is 0-6 lifetime versus Hutch and 0-16 in his L16 at-bats versus the Blue Jays. Pedroia is 1-12 in his L13 at-bats with 8 dudes LOB. The Red Sox also have a .297 wOBA away versus RHP this season.

Jays 105

I'm just trying to get my vision back after a beer-filled weekend. So why not take the Jays as the home dog against a dude they've had success with in the past. I know he has been good this season, but didn't Lackey come back down to earth during/after that start in Seattle? I may be wrong but I think he did. And then I just saw the D-Backs struggle to push a couple runs across versus the Cubs yesterday. I just feel like this is the right price to pay for the Tigers and if I had to pick a side that is who it would be. Action junkie plays on the 'Jays and Tigers without trying to get too cute with things.

Speaking of, I was looking hard at the Pirates and Rockies. Did you guys see the Dodger game last night? I think pretty much everyone now knows there will be no Hanley or Puig. And those types of lineup changes influencing the line always weird me out a little. The thing is that Ryu has pitched pretty damn good after an extended rest. And the Pirates have .296 wOBA versus LHP, which is the fourth-worst wOBA versus southpaws. And the Bucs only have 13 homers this season against left-handers (Daily Notes). The Dodgers just feel like a wounded animal you don't want to mess with right now.

And then I don't think laying that much juice and backing Fister is smart in his first start at Coors. Since 2012 starters making their first start at Coors lined at a negative number are 12-9 SU. But this is how it breaks down:

When they are lined between -103 and -125: 8-2 SU (avg line -116)

When they are lined ≤ -130: 4-7 SU (avg line -144)

For the road favorite making his first start at Coors there is that sweet spot between 0 and -125, but once they go past that they fall off, and that's a lot of juice to risk. The Rockies are 4-2 SU in Morales' home starts this season. In his last three home games he has only allowed 5 ER in 16.2 IP to the Giants, Dodgers, and Padres. He allowed a total of 13H and 6BB with 16 K in those 16.2 innings. But then I read about the injuries to the Rockies' offense and backed away again due to the lineup influences on the line.

Also I thought it was worth mentioning that the Phillies haven't seen Vogelsong since 2004. Although Vogelsong making his first road start versus the opposing team in a Giants uniform has resulted in 2-7 SU for the Giants. And then didn't Cliff Lee have a really terrible performance in his last and final AAA start just now?

It makes you wonder why the total is only 7.

Monday night action junkie play:

Dodgers flying east after a late game - no Puig, or Hanley. Give me them anyway Why? Pittsburgh has not playing well either and literally just had 3 tight games with Colorado..... and I am a degenerate and Ryu has been pitching well and Ryu is on my roto team and I hate betting against my own roto pitching and Saw seems to be thinking the same way.... so....LAD - 102;

Not renewing Sunday ticket this year. First NFL season since 2005 I won't have it. Actually cancelling DirecTV completely...been a good run but I think I can cut the cable and still get my sports.

Honestly - the red zone channel took away the "need" for me to have Sunday Ticket.

Sunday Ticket sucks but I need it to watch the Bills mostly.

I used to have 10 TVs set up, with just as many Directv receivers. Total waste of money for 17 days per year.

Between the RZ channel, and being able to hook up my laptop to a flat screen, I see everything I HAVE to see. You can go to one of the streaming sites, open four different browser windows and put whatever 4 games you want to see the most into your own quad box.

Comcast and ESPN reached an agreement before the weekend for distribution of the SEC Network. It launches Aug 14 and will carry ≥45 football games this season. They're already in business with Dish Network, Cox, and AT&T U-Verse and are in "productive" talks with Time Warner and DirecTV in getting deals done with them as well. I'd love to see the SEC in HD on DirecTV this season. With the reputation these companies have with stalemating and not getting deals done I think it'd be a huge win for sports junkies if DirecTV picked this up.

what streaming sites are good for NFL out of network games?

The New Mexico Bowl from this past season is on ESPNU ... Colorado State vs. Wazzu.

Many of you will remember this as the game where we all wanted to murder Mike Leach, who single-handedly lost the game for his team.

The two I listed at the top of this page. Minimal buffering in my experience.
interesting have to make the call to directv soon to get the discount
I have a wired setup now, going to dual-screen project these games out to the second TV via Apple TV from the linked sites (which rule!) when the home guys aren't playing. With a handful of 4PM games and some prime-time games, there will be plenty of opportunities to watch a second game on TV #2 that might not be on local FOX/CBS. I had tried this last season over wireless AirPlay, and I've seen higher quality cam-recorded new release movies. If the wired setup works, that's a done deal for TV #2, as the primary TV is dedicated RedZone on Sunday, would be no need to pay $200 for the Ticket online.

Honestly, how could you forget this game if you had more then $5 on it. Just an epic meltdown.

I blew up Leach's twitter account for days, calling him every name in the book.

He never replied. It's probably maintained by a student-manager.
