FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (6 Viewers)

JB: I have at A4 Quattro and the all wheel drive didn't do crap with the high performance tires. With snow tires, the car handles like an absolute champ.

I bought mine certified used with 42,000 miles so I did not have the expense of the 35K service. I am sure if you ask, they can tell you. It was between Audi and BMW for me as well.

FWIW, bring a kid with you to go test driving, borrow one if you have to. When I went through the car search thing a couple years ago I would drag along either my son or stepson (12 and 13 at the time). They like cars anyway. I would tell them on the way to the dealership that we didn't want to spend all day there so after the test drive to get really annoying, ask when is it time to go, remember they have to go cause' they have a birthday party to attend, etc. That way, we could could see more cars in less time. The salespeople were happy to get rid of me and I had the information I wanted in trying to narrow down the field. When I bought the car, my stepson was literally in his baseball uniform and I am telling the guy, this is what I am willing to pay, if we have a deal, great, and if not, thats ok too cause the kid has a game and I'm out of time to negotiate.
Ended up with the new A6.

I went in with some numbers written down as to what it would talk to make me walk out of there with the vehicle and they were well under after some tough negotiating. So I couldn't say now.

Did go with a lease though since I change cars like I change underwear but this is a neat car. It's its own wi-fi hotspot (in case a passenger has an ipad or laptop they need to use). Lights flash on the side mirrors when there is someone in my blind spot (to prevent changing highway lanes, etc), and just an overall cool car for a tech nerd.

Guess I'll be wagering less this football season now. :kicksrock:

Travers Stakes on Saturday...think I may end up betting against Bayern again. At least this time he'll probably go off as the fav so I won't feel bad if he beats me. I just don't think he wants to go 10f...need to figure out who's gonna go with him though, because if they let him loose he can steal this, but if there's a fast pace there's enough closers to make a run at him

I showed up at the otb in time to bet the Arlington million on saturday. I look at all the horses and see the 1 horse at 11/1(longest shot in the field of 7). His turf record was 9 starts 5 wins and 2 places. The other horses showed more class, more speed, more everything. I play 1/all exacta and hit for a couple of bucks. The mexican descented guy in the next booth asked before the race who do I like. I say i want to beat all these low odds horses with the 1. He smiles and says good luck. I move over to the other area of otb to watch race. He heres me screaming come on 1!! Come on 1!! He gives me a high five when i walk back over to where he was and I ask .....did you cash?? No, he bet the chalks. I shrug, and say sorry.

$80 from baseball prop thing. Think Pai Gow is the way to go
rigged.. never seen so many full houses for the dealer. Ace never was good enough for the small hand.

DUMB
Got crushed on blackjack on my first week's bonus, losing 9 straight at one point to kill it. Trying Pai Gow for this one I have so much rollover it's almost pointless. But yeah I think they cheat.
Got down from 1600 to about 1050...

Typical Pai Gow is a ton of pushes. This was more like lose, push, lose, win, lose.

Chain (and everyone else) - from the Prediction Machine guys:

TREND MACHINE - NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH

As mentioned above, we are just as pleased to announce the release of the Trend Machine, a completely searchable database of every NFL game since 1978 (over 9,000 games total - more sports to come).

Want to know how frequently the Green Bay Packers have covered the spread at home in December and January in NFL history (60% ATS)? Curious about how often the total in a game involving teams that have gone OVER the total in their four most recent games goes UNDER (83%)?

The Trend Machine puts the power of NFL history at your fingertips. With 40 searchable categories ranging from Home and Away, to the Week of the season, to ATS, SU or O/U streak, to Favorite or Underdog, you can find any historical result from any situation in NFL regular or postseason history with the Trend Machine. Not only can you find out something as specific as road underdogs in week 10 since 2009 are 26-18 (59% ATS), but you can also see the actual game-by-game results of each specific search query.

Learn more about the Trend Machine.

I'd ask them to do a little test drive before laying down the 20 dollars. But if the interface is user-friendly like they say then why not. I bet you could let them give you a little test drive, like a 1-day free pass before the games start. That's what I would try to negotiate. Mention the cost of gaining a new, committed customer. I'd like to try it out. I think there are already databases like this, like Don Best maybe? Does he do one. There are more out there, but I know you are already a PM customer.

Do any of you guys ever have to deal with old, dusty-### women on a professional level? Picture an older women working as the executive assistant in a financial office, a law office, or even just at the bank. I mean women who are probably in their 60's or so. I swear to god, no matter how polite I try to be with them and give them the benefit of the doubt they cut me down every time. I can tell they are "technically" being nice but the venom behind some of the stuff they say, man. So gross.

just letting you know...not sure if you have something similar already. They usually offer free weekends here and there. I did sign up for the entire college FB package.

For what it's worth, I analyzed all of the CFB games and the PM picks from 2011-2013 (4294 total picks)

Over/Unders

Recommended plays (57%+ chance of winning) have won 50 units over the course of the 3 years. The data doesn't really skew either way for overs vs. unders....so I'll be betting every single one of these. He's been + money every year (2011: +17u, 2012: +29u, 2013: +5u)

ATS

Recommended plays have lost 25 units over the 3 years. Breakdown by years is as followed: (2011: -34u, 2012: +13u, 2013: -4u); so maybe he honed his formula over time, or he's just not as good at ATS. Bottom line is over 3 years, it's really a crapshoot for ATS, there's no real correlation of a stronger play yields stronger results. There were times where he won 8 picks in a row, times where he lost 8 in a row.

One thing to note is that all of data is based on where the lines opened. He adjusts the plays as the lines move, but the data available is only on the opening lines. So betting the O/U early is the key. I'll do that everytime and play ATS when I want some action plays.

NY Post tomorrow morning: "NO 'NAE!!"

Check out the 32:00 mark. Why the hell are the Broncos playing on a dirt baseball field in 1987 at Mile High?

The Rockies didn't play there until 1993. Seriously shuked.

Mile High was initially built as a baseball stadium, initially for the Denver Bears in 1948. They changed their name to the Denver Zephyrs in 1985, then moved to New Orleans in 1992 when MLB awarded the Rockies to Denver.
