FFA Wagering Thread: THERE HE IS!@! (15 Viewers)

5 or 6 years ago when Joe Webb was playing QB for the Vikings during the fantasy season but you could play him at WR in Yahoo for some reason is what made me quit fantasy for the past 5 years...

First - our league gets 6 point bonus for 100 yards rushing.

It was fantasy playoffs, I won my match up 100-99 thanks to Rashad Mendenhall gaining 100 yards rushing, so on Monday night, I benched Joe Webb completely for fear that he would throw 3 interceptions and send me backwards with negative points for int. Of course, Joe Webb scored 12 points or so...

Doesn't matter, i'm in the finals - yay! Top prize in league 3000 dollars - yay!

WEdnesday, after the matchup, Christmas morning I wake up - Rex Ryan #####ed about an extra yard awarded to the Steelers. It was Mendenhalls rushing yard. It was the latest reversal I've ever seen, but it happened.

I go from in the finals to in the consolation 3 days after the game ends, on Christmas day, and only benched Webb because I was up a point (I would have started him had I known there was a chance of a disputed YARD).

Of course, I outscore every time in the playoffs during the final game too, but it doesn't matter.

:sadbanana:

Highest scoring regular season in 3 of 5 leagues. Missed the playoffs in two. Got beat 120-50 in the other, by a 6-7 team. Pretty much done with the hobby at this point.

Brong takes the cakes, but here are two that haunt me:

Here is an old school one: in 1995, Jerry Rice puts up 289 receiving yards and 3 td's or 46 points on MNF. I lose the finals by 2 points! This was back in the day where you had to calculate the stats out of the newspaper on Monday morning.

7 or 8 years ago there was a one game playoff between SD and Col to decide who goes to the NL post-season. I have our Roto league won, except now there is an extra game and of course, I have Peavy pitching that week. If I could have, I would have made a lineup change and pulled Peavy. But I can't, so I need to start him. He predictably gets shelled, and I lose a point in ERA and WHIP, falling .5 points short of a championship...

Lost by 1.1 last night in one semi.

Took Lacy out and played Jennings for .3 points

Anyone on my roster would have gotten 1.5 points but Jennings. He is a keeper and eligible for late round keeper but I cut him this morning. That should show him :(

I guess my worst beat was in 2004. I had a buddy who I was trying to get into fantasy football. We needed a 12th team and he begrudgingly joined us. He drafted a decent team and had some luck and snuck in the playoffs. A few weeks earlier, his QB got hurt and he was #####ing about not ever doing fantasy football anymore. So I talked him off the ledge and recommended he pick up Billy Volek. Yeah, you know where this is headed if you played back then. He proceeded to kick my ### in the playoffs (highest scoring team that year too) when Volek threw 8 TDs or whatever it was. Good times.

for what it's worth the Kings are 2-4 SU when they lead by 9 or more at halftime this season
They're 2-5 SU in that situation after we cashed our tickets Thursday, and 2-7 SU overall since Nov 28 when Cousins went down. They have won like two of their L20 with Cousins out of the lineup, and just fired their HC. Sucks for that guy but I guess you can't go blowing halftime leads like that. They're getting 7½ points at home on ESPN tonight versus OKC.

eta: Nov 28 was also the day Westbrook returned to the Thunder. They're 7-1 SU and 5-3 ATS (avg line -8) with an O/U of 2-6 since he's been back; the over has only hit twice despite the Thunder scoring 103 or more in seven of those eight games after only scoring ≥ 103 once in their first 16 games.

The Thunder are 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS at Sacramento since Apr 20, 2012. The only game they didn't cover - the Dec 03 game last year - was the only game Cousins didn't play. Without Cousins, the Thunder outscored the Kings 40-26 in the paint, and used an 18-0 run in the late 3Q/early 4Q to take a 17-point lead, but only won by two points, 97-95, after being outscored by the Kings 30-19 in the 4Q. The line is now down a ½-point to +7.

RN just pork that guy with the last minute Jeffery TD?
That I did, sir. That I did! :hifive:

I'm actually sick for the dude. I've been there.
We all have been, we call that the candy dish(long story). Always awesome when you're on the right side though, nice.
I kind of got a candy dish last night too. Up 6.4 points in a standard 12-team keep 3 going in, I have Jimmy vs. his Forte. Graham is doing just enough for the first time in a long time to help me tread water and keep up with Forte's yardage from scrimmage with the cushion. A TD from Forte all but seals my fate. On the series where Wilson scored, I've never screamed so loud and been so :scared: at the same time when Forte was pushed out at the 2 yard line on an outside run...to get the first down and goal from the 2.

Then Carey comes in for the final series in garbage time :excited:

Since 2008 the Knicks are 10-3 to the over versus the Mavs against an average total of 203 (6-0 O/U home). They're 3-10 SU and 4-9 ATS at home this season with an O/U of 3-7-3. They're 0-8 SU and 3-5 ATS (3-0 L3) as the home dog with an O/U of 1-6-1, scoring an average of 87 ±7 points per game in those eight games. In their L10 games at home overall they are 2-8 SU but have only lost those 8 games by margins of 5,4,3,5,7,2,2,6. I think that is why the +7 was popular and got knocked down to 6½.

The Warriors just scored 128 in an away/away B2B that went into overtime, and are still on the road for one more game before returning home to play the Thunder on Thursday. Since 2008 teams playing on the road after scoring ≥ 120 on the road in a B2B: 12-22 (.353) SU and 18-15-1 (.545) ATS against an average line of 2.4. As the underdog in that situation: 2-20 (.091) SU and 8-13-1 (.381) ATS against an average line of 7. As the underdog in that situation when the opponent was not on B2B: 0-17 SU and 6-10-1 (.375) ATS against an average line of 7.8, playing to an average score of 98-112.

I'm going to back the Grizzlies ATS and TT because of that spot situation for the Warriors. If the Grizzlies somehow get to -3 then I may go big on them. They're 20-4 SU and 13-10-1 ATS versus the Pacific division since 2013, and when they are laying 3 or more points in that situation they are 13-0 SU and 6-6-1 ATS. Also, the Warriors are without Bogut again.

In the late game I am hoping that the total gets pushed up to 207-208 again, and since it's the late game on ESPN with public $ there is definitely that possibility. Under 207½ in the late game would be really, really nice to have.

For tomorrow night the Stars are 6-1 O/U L7 and 9-2-1 O/U at Couve-town since 2007 with 6 ±1 goals scored per game in those 12 games. The Stars have allowed 5 ±1 goals in their 7 road losses this season, losing those games by an average margin of 3 ±1 goals per game. The Stars are 31-30 SU and 31-24-6 (.564) O/U in Canada since 2006 (entire database). As the dog in Canada the Stars are 21-25 (.457) SU with a ROI +3.4% in those games, with an O/U of 26-15-5 (.634). They play their next three games in Canada.

Lost a FF Championship about 10-12 years ago in a horrible fashion. Was up 4 and change and only player still going was my opponents Carolina D/ST. GD Brian Griese (of course a Michigan man) threw a pick six to vaunted defensive stud Kendal Moorehead with about 3 minutes left in the game.

My buddy that won because of it brought me a Kendal Moorehead jersey at the draft the following year.

I kind of want to take Alabama +13 @ Wichita because Bama is usually really good defensively and I would think could keep this one close. But then I look and they're really not nearly as good as they usually are and I'm only familiar with one of their starters. Can't do it.
I'll jump in for the heck of it

Their 2 loses are @ Xavier and vs 13 Iowa St

Keep it under a dirty dozen boys

Someone forgot to tell Golden State the 2nd Q started?

in on Chains

Grizz -3 and Team total....at least thats what I think he was advocating

Ahhh, who is this lady on the halftime show of ESPN with the NBA. Her voice is annoying as hell. I think it is the accent, but yikes it is a bit painful. Same effect as half these ESPN employees though, so maybe that is their goal.

i really hope Mayweather and Pacquiao don't fight. 4-5 years ago, sure, but they have just drug this out way too long. I just don't have any interest in that fight anymore, they wore out the excitement with the false promoting for years

11 seconds left. Heat up 4. Heat concede a lay up to Jack, who misses the wide open lay up. Heat rebound, foul on N Cole. Missed both FT. Brkyln misses end of game 3. My over loses by 1/2.

awesome

I agree. Boxing lost it's luster about twenty years ago when the decisions were motivated by money instead of who won the fight.

The Thunder averaged 70 1H points L2 games. They and the opposing team each averaged 41.5 points in the 2H. The Kings have averaged 51 ±5 1H and 46 ±5 2H in the nine games since Cousins has been out. I'm going to try the 2H under and the Kings 2H team total under if I can get 51 or more on them.

seems like we are going against the grain here bud, but i am in :fro:

ETA: i took the `1st half under in this game so i have ground to make up

ETA2: man F Westbrook. Does this kid have no idea what slowing down the game means? You don't have to try and fast break everything d-bag

Russ only has 1 speed: faster than you. You being everyone anywhere.

Good finish for the -7.5/u parlay crowd!

If it were me the breaking bad spinoff wouldabeen "ya better call saugh". Just sayin.

What?? RB scored my under 52 4th Q as a loss. What the hell am I missing? Looks like OKC had 23 pts, and Sac had 21? I know i am tired but no way does that add up, right?

ETA: ok, i think they fixed it, but seems like the math is off still. Ugh, maybe i should pay more attn to how some of my plays are scored over here
