FFPC dynasty and redraft leagues thread (2 Viewers)

I put this in the Dynasty Value Thread but it's definitely an FFPC kind of thing with the shorter rosters, so cross posting here as well to get some thoughts...

scraping the bottom for my last FFPC 1QB dynasty league (Keep only 14 skill position players) and I have to chose between Renfrow WR LV, Claypool WR CHI or Haskins RB TEN.
My roster is hopefully in the last year of its rebuild and pretty evenly "ok" at both RB and WR. Liked Renfrow as my last keeper before they signed Meyers, but now not so sure. Hate the idea of keeping Claypool who I've pretty much written off at this point. And Haskins only value is IF Henry finallys hits the wall (I don't roster Henry in this league) and then IF he's actually going to be the main starter there, which I'm not sure is a lock.

I don't like Claypool at all, but I'd keep him. Mostly because he'd be the easiest to trade if he has a good game or two.

Love that line of thinking. Thanks.

If you dropped all three of those guys and they were available in the draft, I'd take Claypool first. Bears actually gave up a good pick to get him, whereas it seems the Raiders staff doesn't think much of Renfro.

Thanks. My line of thinking as well. I can probably re-draft either of the remaining in the 4th round or later of the upcoming rookie/FA draft.

One thing I'd add to this is if you have a few players you are mulling keeping/cutting and know you probably have interest in trying to re-draft the player(s) you have to cut is to put out a message saying they are all available for trade as possible cuts. In a perfect scenario you actually get a trade offer you actually want to do but if you get any trade offers it will indicate who and what players other teams in your league are interested in and who will be the most difficult to re-acquire.

I am also looking at cutting Claypool in a few leagues, CEH as well. Taking some L's from the last couple of years for sure on a couple players. I disagree that he'll be tradable if he has a couple good games. People hate Claypool's guts and as someone who has a lot of shares I can tell you I don't know if I have ever gotten a nibble for him anywhere. And I see that so far he is available in 0 of my FFPC dynasty leagues, so I'm not stoked about dropping him. But I'm also pretty close to the idea of fully giving up on him, which means to me that if I drop him, someone else is going to spend draft capital to pick him up and clog their roster. I'd rather get pick(s) in a trade but like I said everybody hates him. Just not enough to drop him (yet).

claypool is similar to Trey Lance for me in a non-FFPC league, but it’s only Keep 13 (not TE mandatory) but its a similar challenge. Lance has been clogging that small roster for 2 years now with zero return and now it looks like Purdy is the heir apparent, so I might just keep Boring-but-Reliable-For-Now Goff, dump Lance, and use one of my 3 2nd rounders to grab a rookie QB. I want off the Trey Lance train.
(The likely clincher: even in Purdy’s great run end of last year, he was still averaging just below 20 ppg in a winning offense that was scoring a lot. SF O is not fantasy friendly for QB scoring for the past few years…he says without looking at any other stats ;) )

Watchlist feature in FFPC?!? I‘ve been asking FFPC for this since I joined my first FFPC league 6 years ago and now, in the Stats tab, there’s now a Flag icon to the left of each player’s name to Watch them. And there’s a “Add to Watchlist” button in the player profile pop up windows. Finally, in the Stats tab, you can filter by Watchlist.

have I been asleep at the wheel and didn’t notice this, or is this a new feature?

Ok so I have a couple leagues where I'm just super deep and can't stomach the cuts I have to make, and am not getting any traction in offers/messages/etc. But in one league in particular, I see there are a few teams that are also trying and are over budget on their rosters. So I am taking a drastic measure:

I am announcing that despite being over budget myself, I am willing to take on an extra player if a deal is equitable. Insert "That's a bold strategy Cotton" meme.

In other words, I'm asking other leaguemates to do the hard work for me since I can't seem to figure it out.

I mentioned it because, I don’t know if this happens to others, I find around 50% of the time I click on the Stats tab on the FFPC site, it errors with some kind of page not found image, and I basically have to log out and log back in to the FFPC site to get it to “wake up” again. Is it just me? (Btw, I’m usually using Firefox on my iPad).

sorry it’s a tangent but I’m wondering if it’s just me or do others find the FFPC site needs more “log out and back in again” dance than any other sites you use?

Yes. Pretty much every day I visit it the log in error appears.

What does watchlist do? Watching for what?

Just like the watchlist feature that exists in yahoo since the beginning. Put a ”flag” on a player, ie add him to your watchlist, and this now allows you to “tag” a subset of players you want in your shortlist. So now in the Stats tab you can filter by Watchlist.

I use Chrome on Mac and iPhone, but when I'm on iPhone, I've had this happen. On Chrome on iPhone, when I switch to a different tab, sometimes the page will reload after I switch to that tab. When it's on FFPC, I get that "page not found" error if it's reloading the stats page or the live scoring page (during the season). I will try to just go to myffpc.com, but I still get the error. I have found that what works is closing the app (swiping up to make it disappear) and then re-opening on the myffpc.com site.

I'd leave the rosters intact if I was them, no need to do anything before the rookie drafts and might as well make them as enticing as possible for a potential buyer.

That crossed my mind, too, but I could see a ton of complaints if a new guy was able to start trading his excess players upon taking over the team after cutdown deadline. I suppose FFPC could just tell the new owners, "The first thing you must do is cut to 16 before being allowed to trade," but that might be hard to enforce. I don't know, guess we'll see.

How much would someone pay for a 1QB $250 team with:

Burrow
Henry, Gibson, K Ingram, Z Knight, Edmonds
Chase, Waddle, D Smith, Doubs, Palmer, Shaheed
Everett/Bryant
1.08/3.09/6.08 all 2024 picks

Have got zero traction on trying to sell this but feel like it's a great core.

Looks like it’s worth about $250 to me. I certainly wouldn’t go any higher.

I've listed it several times on DD and never got more than a $30 bid. I'd take $250.

The 250 teams get zero interest.

People like teams with a lot of high draft picks. If you don't have multiple firsts or a high first and multiple seconds you better be loaded with young studs. You have a few young studs but that's not enough. If I was looking to bid on a team, I'd pass by this one pretty quickly.

Yeah that's the thing is having multiple draft picks. I just figured there would be a happy medium somewhere between $30 and $250.

If startups leagues are curtailed -- especially at the $250 buy-in, as FFPC keeps saying is likely -- then we could see an uptick in interest on DD.

Yeah I mean, what it’s worth and what people will pay are two different things. Why pay $250 for an average team somebody else put together when I can just do a startup?

The $77 and $250 leagues seem like they are way over leveraged.

Ive had similar results, just doesn't seem to be the same demand on DD this year.

I have listed this $500 BB team a couple of times and got virtually no interest.

Brock Purdy
Rachaad White, Tyler Allgeier, Alexander Mattison, Jaylen Warren
Garrett Wilson, Treylon Burks, DJ Moore, Jahan Dotson, Gabe Davis, Rashid Shaheed
Dalton Schultz, Greg Dulcich, Juwan Johnson
1.3, 1.6, 1.7, 1.8, 1.10, 1.12, 2.3, 3.2, 3.3, 5.3, 6.3, 7.12, 8.3, 9.3, 10.3
All 24 picks

I will list it again just before rookie drafts, but probably end up keeping it.

Somewhat OT - but anecdotally sounds like dynasty teams have been harder to sell and turnover orphans this year.
Never thought of them similarly to other luxury items or risk asset markets topping out as the economy hits the skids, but I suppose that is the case!

I have 2 teams in my $77 12 team dynasty league that had their rosters trimmed by the FFPC bot. 1 owner hasn’t logged in since January and the other actually logged in mid-March and replied to one of my trade offers, yet failed to do their own roster cut down.

Also just saw in an FFPC email this morning that they’re sunsetting the $77 leagues and created a new $100 leagues as their new least-expensive offering. Looks like their rake is closer to 30% instead of the 35%-ish for $77 leagues and 25% for $250 leagues. (i hate reminding myself how much they take from my entry fee, but I do love playing on their site and their league formats)

I must admit it's kind of refreshing on post cut day realizing I don't have to fret over who I'm going to cut or try and trade to clear up a spot and am now free to expand my roster.

I always wait until around the last hour or so to do cuts, just in case a late arriving owner wants to make a deal. Sounds kind of corny but I poured a fresh glass of whiskey last night before sitting down to do my final cuts, as my little way of paying homage to guys like Kareem Hunt who I was about to cut and I've owned since they came into the league. Just as I sat down to do this last night I saw a trade offer come over and thought all right, we are in business! Just someone trying to buy Herbert off me for a 2024 second and some change, which was ok, but the annoying part was he trying to bash Herbert saying he just had shoulder surgery and sucked last year. In the middles of Herbert bashing he referenced QB's were easy to find and threw out Trey Lance's name who had just been cut within the last few hours and how he could just draft him in round 5 or so. I'm so planning on drafting Lance in the 4th now.

I'm much happier now that cuts are over. It was a grind for me this year and not really in a good way. Oh well. I pulled something similar to Kevin Costner in Draft Day where he had the post it note with "Vontae Mack or else" but for me I made a big red highlighted cell in my spreadsheet that said "DON'T FORGET CHEAP QBs AND TEs ARE EASY TO DRAFT OR PICK UP" and it may seem dumb but it came in handy on some of my cut decisions. I'm down to 4 single-QB and 12 SuperFlex so those spots are even more precious. I think most of us would tend to agree that in 1QB our preference is to not carry more than one QB through these cuts but obviously SF adds a different level to that.

Ha, always love the bash the player you are trying to trade for strategy.
Yeah I had a guy that was just absolutely awful last year. One of the worst basically trolling and begging me to sell him Burks for low when he was having those summer allergy issues. He proceeded to rail on me about how I didn't even have rim to roster him and that my team was going tostay mediocre forever and yayaya and I'm like A this isn't helping your negotiations, and B eff you. Well I took 2nd place but whatever.

Fast forward to yesterday and I put out a message saying Elijah Mitchell on the block for a 3rd.

Yes, I know this is a long shot at best. I actually did get a 3rd for him two days before. And I fully understand most of those messages and block updates never go anywhere. So dude offers me a 5th and I counter with a 3rd and no message. He responds back all pissy about how Mitchell is worthless and I'm an idiot to post the message and my team got lucky and he isn't going to play this game with me. So I'm like A this isn't helping your negotiations and B eff you. But who's playing games when I advertised a guy for a 3rd and stayed true to that?

Anyway had to get that out thanks lol. Dude is awful and it sucks because he holds 1.01,1.03,1.04,1.05,1.07,2.01,2.03,2.04,2.11 and isn't going anywhere.

Shown are the @FFPC "Dynasty Untouchables". They are the ONLY players NOT CUT in any FFPC Dynasty league (Superflex or Standard) following the cutdown deadline last night. If your fav player isn't on this list, someone cut them . Can't believe Zeke not on the list..#bruh

Only 6 TEs on the list (Pitts, Kittle, Andrews, Hockenson, Goedert, Kelce), so there's at least one league out there with Freiermuth on the wire. Also, people out here cutting Christian Watson, Jerry Jeudy, Treylon Burks, Jameson Williams.

I had to look like multiple times to be sure I was not seeing Kenneth Walker's name. How on earth?

Also, I noticed something strange. I got an email alert about an offer in one league right before midnight last night, but I was asleep. The offer was gone this morning. I run that team with a partner, but I don't think he rejected, because I didn't get an email alert (I asked him but haven't heard back). However, I also got an offer on Thursday that I never responded to, and it's gone this morning, and I never got an alert that it was withdrawn. So it seems like FFPC just hit the reset button and all outstanding offers disappeared.

I believe that is correct. One of their emails this morning said something to the effect that trading was turned back on. I assume that meant the board was cleared.

Thumbing through the cuts that were made in my leagues (and still have several to look at) but there are some intriguing names available now, in no particular order:

Claypool*
Skyy Moore
Gesicki
Schultz
Elijah Moore*
Doubs
Kmet
Lockett
Alec Pierce

*These ones are particularly satisfying since I had traded those players away.

Late July last year I moved Moore, Allgeier, Edmonds and Brevin Jordan for Chubb and Goedert. And now EMoore is back in the pool (auto cut per ADP by FFPC).

I moved a share of Claypool two days ago along with M Carter and Kittle, and now that same share of Claypool is on the wire. Obviously the partner didn't care and just wanted Kittle I get that. I still love it.

Are rosters tighter in the SF/Triflex leagues? I'm in 5 actual leagues with FFPC(I do some private leagues with mainly FFPC rules) and not much exciting was cut. Out of that list the only one cut was Gesicki and that was just once.

In a FFPC standard league I'd probably draft Moore in the high second.

One thing I like to look was if I ended up being the only person to cut a player. I owned James Robinson in 4 out of those 5 leagues and cut him in all 4 so he's one I expected to be the only person cutting and that was correct as someone held him in one league I did not own him. Spiller, Fournette, Jeff Wilson and Hunt are all players I only own once and am only person to cut them. I thought I was going to be the only guy to cut Likely but @NE_REVIVAL joined my club.

Just shows how tough (and great, imo) these shorter roster leagues are. I like that after the main rookies go off the board that there are some 2nd year players I can re-invest in (but not enough value to make my keeper list just yet) and vets that can round out my squad. Nice format. Keeps things relatively active imo.
