Am I the only one who thinks that FFPC Dynasty rookie/free agent drafts should not begin until after the NFL schedule is released? This year, they begin about a week before schedule release. I'd sure like to know that I'm not drafting key players with the same bye week and know the playoff week schedules before drafting.

I'm not disagreeing with you........but what "key" players are you drafting here?
Are you going to change your rookie rankings based on bye weeks? What "key" vets are you going after where this would matter?

It's not perfect but in the grand scheme of things not a big deal to me and I think it beats alternative of starting the draft on mothers day weekend.
Other then backup QB or if you don't already have your D it's not really a big deal to me and hard for me to see it impacting many decisions in dynasty. Even if your roster looks like it's wiped out a particular week I think that's kind of good, just take your lumps that week, worst thing that can happen in a given week is zero VP's. Also some drafts take longer then a week, maybe Thursday night you got a round or few left.
I will say I was going to jump into the $350 redraft yesterday and decided to hold off due to the schedule but redraft is a little different, especially in the $350's when you actually have bye weeks during the playoffs.(that format stinks and is one of the most needed changes in the FFPC that will never happen)
Not anything the timing of the draft could have prevented but I remember stuff like last year seeing my Mahomes/Herbert team have the same bye week and I ended up jsut taking a goose that week at QB since I had no one to cut. My point just being sometimes just got to accept that things are not always going to go perfect, maybe it works for your or against you.
I was thinking it was inconsequential until you brought up backup QBs. Great point. I definitely draft my back up from a tier and absolutely look at bye week as tie breaker.
I do the same for my kicker and defense in that I like to draft them with the latest bye week possible.
good call out.
so…we all stall on every single pick to make the draft last well into next week?

So which QBs in the FA pool are worth carrying all season as a backup?
Just pick up a QB the week of your starter's bye.
Drafting a backup QB seems like a bad idea anyway in FFPC 1 QB leagues
I put this in the Charbonnet thread but I guess I could spam it here as well for my FFPC brethren….
Here’s my dilemma and current decision making process written in a very WDIS, er, Draft kind of post…
in one of my FFPC 1QB (TE-P) leagues, I’m trying to finish my rebuild.
My roster:
QB: Herbert
RB: Walker, JWilliams, Allgeier, Herbert, Carter
WR: Olave, Pittman, Toney, Palmer, Cooks, Shakir, Claypool
TE: Andrews
and I hold the 1.1, 1.6, 1.8, 2.6, 2.7
Obviously, I welcome Bijan to my team…and already roster his handcuff (glass half full)
At the 1.6 and 1.8, I have a few ways to go:
- Grab the last WR of the “big 4”
- Go rookie RB, either Charbs (to pair with my Walker) or Achane.
- Kincaid at 1.6 (or Mayer at 1.8?)
before the NFL draft, grabbing a TE wasn’t even on my radar and I was just gonna grab whoever remained from this TE clas at my 2.6/2.7 picks. But now…that sure has changed. I think I also have to grab Kincaid at 1.6 and then take Charbs at 1.8, and grab whatever remains at RB or WR (or another rookie TE) in the 2nd.

I'm torn on how early I might take one (or more) of the TEs. I generally don't want them on my FFPC roster to begin with, as rookies. But the RBs and WRs there are just meh. So yeah IDK what to tell you. If somebody wants to pay a 2024 1st for a rookie TE I think that's the angle I'm going to try to attack.

Other than taking Bijan, not sure I agree w much of that. If I had Walker I'm not targeting Charb (not in FPC) and prbly not taking a TE at 1.6. You really need help at rb and wr so maybe move up and try to get 2 of the 4 wrs. Or take 1 and see what falls or trade back a bit after that, still a few rbs that might help.
Oh, and in the Shark Pool league you should definitely trade the 1.12 for my 2nd and 3rd

Interesting. I forgot to mention that PRE-NFL draft, my plan was to go Bijan, then top4 WR, then best remaining RB or WR with my 1st 3 picks. But man the draft shook me and everything is scrambled up in my head. I wrote myself notes to NOT draft a rookie TE with those picks for all the reasons many have discussed on this board but now, boy they seem like safer picks than this pile of junk I’m chosing from.
either way, me putting those picks on the block once the draft starts this weekend will definitely happen to see if I can turn them into solid vets (not too old since I’m finishing this rebuild) or into 2024 1st rounders.
any other thoughts are welcome!
as for the SharkPool FFPC league…wait?! I have the 1.12 pick?!?!? (Checks trophy case) oh yeah, it seems I do

I have pick 5 coming up in a league we are all in so let me ask, is it still lying season?....just kidding
Trading for the "right" 2024 #1's would be on the table for any of these but it takes two to tango so if you got stuck with the picks what I'd do:
Draft Addison, Johnston or Kincaid at 6.
If one of them is left at 8, and I doubt they will be, repeat first suggestion. If not I'd take Charbs or Achane. I lean Achane in a vacuum but if I got Walker that would switch me to Charbs but that's how I roll.
If you end up drafting Kincaid at 6 or 8, and I know you are a Raiders fan, but I'd have to punt on Mayer as I'd not want to roster two rookie TE's. If you don't draft Kincaid I would keep offering the 2.6/2.7 to every team OTC until Mayer is gone.

am I to assume you have Flowers BELOW Addison/Johnston/Kincaid at this point? He was rising up the boards and is part of what I call the “big 4 WRs” but I know his landing spot has cooled some off on his.
Charbs/Achane are my current thoughts exactly at 1.8.
and thanks for reinforcing using my 2.6/2.7 picks to move up to grab Mayer if I don’t get Kincaid in the mid first. That said, there’s parts of me that wonder if just staying put and grabbing whichever rookie TE falls there AND grabbing another WR or RB with those 2 picks isn’t just as attractive, especially with all the talk and observations on this board about not overpaying for rookie TEs. Also, as a life long, often disappointed, Raiders fan, I actually find reasons to NOT draft Raiders so Im not double-burned on Sundays.
as for lying season…yeah, that’s still in full effect. I haven’t said a peep about what future mega-stud rookie I’m targeting at my 1.12 pick. It will shock the world (ps. I have no effin clue what I’m talking about)
In one league I have several 2nd rounders. I wanna trade them all for a player, mostly because I don't want to go through the rigorous process of ranking these guys.
I might just pick my top 20 guys and draw them out of a hat.

Not a top 8 guy for me personally. I've never drafted one of Lamar's receivers and so far have not regretted it. Shame because I was high on the kid. He's not a DND guy or anything, still a first rounder/top 12 guy and most of my picks are 10-12 so I might have to start warming up to him.
That said, there’s parts of me that wonder if just staying put and grabbing whichever rookie TE falls there AND grabbing another WR or RB with those 2 picks isn’t just as attractive
That may be the better option. Not a lot of ADP data but one rookie draft that progressed far enough to see you could take LaPorta with one of those picks. Odds are high at a minimum a LaPorta or Musgrave will be available and it's not hard to see any of them being better then Mayer and there will certainly be a solid RB prospect in that group.
I have the 1.1 in an FFPC 1 QB league. I (we all) know who I’m picking but the draft starts at 6:45am PST and there’s no Auto-draft button in the Draft room yet. Oh well, I’m putting molasses in the gears right out of the gate.

On the app, if you go into the draft room, there's a gear in upper right, and you can select auto-draft for one pick. Bijan would be the pick regardless, but you can still add him to your queue to be safe. I have no idea if this works for the first pick, but the option is there.

I thought I saw one after just three drafts when I saw Gibbs go 1.1 in a league.....but then I sent the draft to @Dez and he pointed out the same team had picks 1 and 2. Duh.

With an avalanche of Rookie drafts about to descend upon #thecommunity, if you see one where Jahmyr Gibbs goes 1.01 ahead of Bijan, do not panic. It's likely just a team that has BOTH the 1.01 and 1.02 in the draft and is stirring the pot.

Thanks for the hot tip. I went into the app (which I NEVER use) and turned it on.
I hate when there are these kind of differences between mobile and web apps.
Sleeper is notorious for features existing in one and not the other. Frustrating.

So a new owner took over a $250 SuperFlex FFPC dynasty squad that was just absolutely loaded with draft capital. Before I list the rest of their roster/picks, observe that they made these picks here:
2.01 Jax Defense
2.04 Will Lutz (kicker)
WTF? How?
I was busy Saturday when these picks went down but would have loved to try and move up there. And imagine 10 other owners would have as well. I don't get it. That said, they also walked away with:
FYI - In my one league that has completed the draft, the promptly rearranged the divisions. Not sure why they had to wait for the draft to complete to do so.

I’ll start with my results from FFPC SharkPool league. (12 team, 1QB, TE-P)
I‘m repeat champ #humbleBrag with a SuperWinNow roster that I drafted 2 seasons ago in the start up with the intention of Going Fot It out of the gate. This roster is about to fall off a cliff in some areas
pre-draft roster after cut downs:
QB: Allen
RB: Harris, Henry, AJones, Conner, Herbert
WR: Adams, Evans, Palmer, Lazard, Shakir, Metchie
TE: McBride, Schultz
K: Patterson JAX
D: BAL
and my draft from the 12 spot went as follows:
1.12 Rashee Rice WR KC
2.11 Jason Hyatt WR NYG
4.4 Luke Schoonmaker TE DAL (then traded him away during 6th round for Bryce Young QB CAR)
4.12 Eric Gray RB NYG
5.2 Tucker Kraft TE GB
6.11 Brenton Strange TE JAC
6.12 Haskins RB TEN
7.12 AT Perry WR NO
thoughts/approach:
- at 1.12, as expected the Big 4 WRs were gone and all of the 2nd tier of RBs went too (Charb,Miller,Achane,Spears) so I went with a WR from that next tier (Rice, Mingo, Mims, Downs, Reed) and I guess I went highest upside here with Rice in the KC offense. Hopefully I didn’t pull a Skyy Moore.
- I traded up 1 whole spot in the 2nd (for a 5.12<->6.11 pick swap with @NE_REVIVAL ) to grab the last WR I had in that next tier. Happy with that move, and, heck, sometimes I just get an itch to make some kind of trade during the draft, and this was my only one
- TE Premium so I figured the next few of my picks would be swings at some rookie tight ends to see what sticks by cut down before Week 1
- Gray is obvious injury/handcuff-for-Barkley-owner value at RB to see what happens during the summer.
- @Penguin accidentally draft both Young and Stroud in round 4 and put them both on the block, so I sent Schoonmaker for Bryce offer. I wanted a backup QB in the 6th, Love went a few picks before me in that round (he was another young, upside target), and boring-but-steady Goff was my remaining target at that point (he wasn’t even drafted in the end) so I thought I send an offer and it was accepted.
- that move then made me take another rookie TE immediately in the late 6th, then Haskins as Henry insurance (though he might not even be the backup, but Spears’ knee is a topic of conversation) and then best available rookie WR remaining to wrap it up.
Overall I’m pretty happy the way it turned out but I’m still pretty much left with Aging Studs and Young Dart Throws, but no obvious rookie studs-to be. Gonna need some luck to hopefully execute a semi-rebuild on the move, laying the tracks down while the train is speeding ahead.
I would love any feedback/comments and look forward to others in the league doing their breakdowns, as is our annual tradition
not sure if the link works for non-league members, but here’s the draft board…
Haha, no u didn't, i'm sure others will post their thoughts as well, i know I will. Just been busy with a lot of drafts and still finishing up a couple; haven't had time to digest yet.
My Sharkpool draft went alright. I earned the 1.08 by making the playoffs but finishing out of the money. RB remains a glaring weakness and didn't want to reach for K Miller at 1.08 and would have taken Charbonnet but he went at 1.07. So after failing to garner interest in trading out of the pick, I went with BPA on my board with Zay Flowers. Things will need to break right for him and the Ravens but I think the pieces are there. We'll see.
1.08 Flowers
2.01 R Johnson
2.07 Abanikanda
3.01 Chase Brown
4.11 Keaontay Ingram
I moved my future 1st OTC (and still have one 1st left) for 2.01, 3.01 and Mostert. Took R Johnson, who although he only has 4th round draft capital, I see him doing very well in Chicago. Thought he should have gone higher in many drafts.
Then I moved my future 2nd and 4.03 to get 2.07 OTC where I took Abanikanda. Another strange landing spot but I really loved him coming out and this is another talent over situation thing. But consider that although reports are positive about Breece Hall's recovery, he is still going to be in year +1 and there is at least a little door for Abanikanda to excel in this spot. He will certainly be involved.
Chase Brown was a no-brainer RB depth/upside pick. When I moved my 1st for 2.01/3.01 I had an inkling I would like my options at 3.01 and indeed I loved Brown here. If Mixon washes out, this could be gold.
I moved my last remaining piece of 2024 draft capital, other than one remaining 1st, a 4th rounder to move in and snag K Ingram. I liked him coming out. He transferred to USC out of Texas because of Bijan and then did very well. He is currently the #2 behind Conner and I think he is one of the sneakiest cheapest handcuffs out there with some likely stand alone value. He is basically free.
So to round me out I at least have some RB options with upside that I can throw out there. I moved Andrews this offseason and will need Gesicki to be who I think he is.

Roschon and Keaontay…and I have Herbert and Conner. Perhaps there’s a deal in our future, depending on how things break this year.
Flowers above that next level of RBs is a tough one with your RB situation, but I agree it’s more about talent there. I think every rookie rating BEFORE the NFL draft had Flowers above all of those RBs (Achane, Miller, Spears) so it makes sense to stick to your guns.
You definitely have some dart throws at RB that have upside. And major value if one of the key starters goes down.
overall, I think this was a tough draft to feel like you really hit a homerun unless you had the 1.1, or at least one of the top 3 picks. Everything else is “let me take a bunch of guys and see what sticks to the wall”.
I've not made the playoffs in two years of this league so this is pretty much the anatomy of a loser but here is a breakdown of my picks and what I was thinking. This post is not for the ADHD sufferer.
Pre-draft thoughts: despite the teams lack of success the only position that I felt was a real "need" was QB. With just 14 position players entering the draft it's hard feel like you got enough of anything but my thought was I entered with solid depth at RB, WR and TE. If there was a need, other then QB, it was just to locate more studs as I'm currently light in that department. One way I look at is that I have no players who are getting drafted in the first two rounds of redrafts. That's big time no bueno. With that in mind my focus was on BPA during most of the draft, especially the first few picks.
Pre draft roster:
QB: Lance
RB: ETN, Rhamondre, Javonte, D Pierce and Penny
WR: London, Juedy, Mike Williams, Pickens, Elijah Moore and A Pierce
TE: Pitts and Goedert
Philly D and Butker
1.5- Dalton Kincaid- I think I said this in his thread but for weeks, if not months, leading up to the draft I viewed him as a worst case option here. In other words I thought after the consensus top 3 some Rb's or WR's would land nicely and I would likely prefer those options or be in a trade back position and that Kincaid was most likely a back half to late round one guy. Once the NFL draft was over I found myself sweating out if I could actually get him at 5. Day after the draft I made a little offer to move up to 4. Got a quick reject, no comment or counter so made me think team in 4 hole was really feeling strong about someone. Same scenario unfolded in another league I had pick 5 so I spent a good amount of time that week trying to feel good about a 5th player. I got there. I came around on Jordan Addison, he made more sense from a position angle but my only drawback was I did not feel so great he fit the upside I was seeking but I knew for a few days I was drafting him or Kincaid. Johnston went 4th and he actually does fit the upside angle I was looking for but I got a type and he's not it so was happy to get my guy.
2.5- Sam LaPorta- Lowpoint of the draft for me losing Richardson who went at 2.4 I started looking trading up at 2.1 but decided to hold off. I looked at team 2.2 and they had Hurts which did not exclude them from drafting AR, just made it less likely IMO and I was decided to hold off on trying to move up. Which left Freebagel sitting there with picks 2.3 and 2.4, and only having Kyler it was easy to see a need. BUT, I recalled Freebagel hammering Richardson in his thread so that made me a little optimistic but I also know a difference between a player being good in real life and fantasy. So I made an offer to move up and had a secondary offer ready to make if that one did not work. Waited hours, went to sleep, woke up and saw my offer was rejected and he took AR. I struggled with this decision on Bigsby to pair with ETN but said screw a handcuff type and I'm going to shoot for the upside.
3.8 Luke Musgrave - at this point I'm thinking my league members think this is a bit. It's not, again just trying to go BPA. He's a top 18 player for me, same tier as Mayer and LaPorta so the value to me not so much with his ADP but where I have him ranked was to much to pass.
4.1-OBJ- I cut him on final cuts. Picked him up on waivers last year and that technically is the first time I've ever owned OBJ on a dynasty team, but he's never been in a lineup. He was playing a high level when he went down in the SB. No idea what he's still got nor do I love the offense but the financial commitment to him is extremely strong and I view him as the WR1 for the Ravens. I will admit it was the second time in the draft I lost a QB by a pick, was hoping to take Geno here but he went 3.12, that did not bum me out like losing Richardson though.
At this point I only have picks left at 4.8 and 4.10. I ended up dealing them for 4.9 and a bunch of 5th and 6ths. I was planning to take a few QB's but no one was drafting them. From the time Geno went at 3.12 till the end of the draft only two QB's were drafted, one by me. So I figured if need be I'll just get into free agent bidding for one and take my shots on other players.
4.9- Duece Vaughn- tiny but kind of spectacular, taking shot at depth for RB but size might be to limiting.
5.5- Deneric Prince- pre-draft deep sleeper for me, really strong size/workout numbers. I believe he got $250K guaranteed to sign with Chiefs and considering their starting RB almost went undrafted last year seems like a shot worth taking.
5.9-James Robinson- like OBJ another roster cut down guy I redrafted. I've long been a supporter of his but possibly cuffing Rhamondre was key. I don't any stock whatsoever in the beat writer saying he thinks he'll be cut. I mean it's possible but NE did not sign him with the intention of cutting him so all that talk seems a bit premature.
6.2- Van Jefferson- late career breakout candidate? Was not healthy a chunk of last year and then lost Stafford but this team sucks, especially on defense and will passing all day and someone other then Kupp has to catch the passes.
6.9 Brock Purdy- so now that I have Lance and Purdy it means Darnold probably is the week one starter here but this still felt right to me. Bryce Young became available and I'm a big Bryce fan in real life but truth is for fantasy if Purdy is healthy I got them about equal.
That's a wrap, 4-5 of these players likely don't make my opening roster and looking forward to August entertainment value it brings me trying to figure out who to keep. Got all my picks intact for next year.
Apologies for potentially cluttering the Thread, and more apologies if I missed something that's already been covered.
Just logged in to the FFPC Site for the 1st time in a while. They are advertising a $350 price point contest, but it's called the Fantasypros Championship.
Am I having a Rip Van Winkel moment? Is the footballguys contest not involved with FFPC any more?

yeah, you were on a TE Tear to start your draft. In FFPC TE-P format, and with the 2 flex positions, even if all 3 hit, you can start them all, which is fun (to say nothing of their trade value if they hit)
I wanted to say thanks for drafting Prince in the 5th, which opened my eyes to him and made me take him in the 7th in my other FFPC league when I realized he was still sitting there. I totally used your research efforts to my benefit so thanks for that.
I don't mean to be a salesman on here, but I have two $100 dynasty teams that I drafted a couple months back that I want to sell (looking to get in a higher stakes).
Both teams are good. PM me if interested.
Teams 1:
Josh Allen
Ekeler, derrick Henry, dameon pierce, allgier, singletary
Garrett Wilson, Olave, Tee Higgins, Tyreek Hill, KJ Osborn
Mark Andrews, Njoku, Isaiah Likely, Cole Kmet
Justin tucker, Pats D
Picks- future 2nd and 3rd
Team 2:
Dak
Jonathan Taylor, CMC, Chubb, Derrick Henry, Miles sanders, Isaiah spiller
Tyreek Hill, Stefon Diggs, Mike Evans, DeAndre hopkins, OBJ, Terrace Marshall
Darren Waller, Cade Otton, Tyler Conklin, Dawson knox
McPherson, philly D
Future 3rd-7th rounders

Recap time!
1.01 Bijan - A little more week-to-week luck and/or better management last year and this may have been the 1.12 as I tore it up in weeks 15-17. Gotta work on those first 14 weeks this year! This is about the best consolation prize you can get.
2.01 & 3.01 - I traded with barack for a 24 1st. I liked, a few guys at 2.01, but didn't love. Maybe I'll find my soulmate in next year's class.
4.01 - Traded before cutdown for C. Hubbard. I regret it a bit. I like to think that I made that deal prior to the Miles Sanders signing. Then again, sometime you tell yourself little lies just to make yourself feel better.
So my draft ended up as Bijan, a 24 1st, and a handful of 6th & 7th round players who need injuries or cap casualites ahead of them to even make my week 1 roster.
I don't mean to be a salesman on here, but I have two $100 dynasty teams that I drafted a couple months back that I want to sell (looking to get in a higher stakes).

Was the #1 seed again this year and again lost to Joeys **** *** team in the playoffs so real slim pickings in this draft for me.
I did not have a 2023 1st (traded for 22 picks =J. Cook & J. Dotson)
Traded 3.11 & 23 2nd for 2.8 & 4.11
Traded 2.11 & 6.11 for 2.11 & 5.12
Traded 4.11 & 23 3rd for 3.4
2.08 = M. Mims - moved up for this pick and had to sweat out a couple of picks in front of me. Bdh traded up to the 2.7 and I thought sure he was taking mims but he went with abanikanda (which is fine) and I was thrilled to get my guy. Probably go J. Reed if Mims had gone.
2.12 = Mckinnon - A little early, but team is a bit rb needy and I liked him more than anyone else that went in the 3rd (except strong) and I like the pairing with Mahomes.
Felt the draft fell off a cliff after the 2nd rd and from that point on just really a crap shoot.
3.04 = P. Strong - Again a little early according to wisdom of the adp crowd, but I can't help it if everyone but me is stupid. Been grabbing him everywhere (dyno, bb etc).
5.11 = E. Hull - Meh, just a dart
5.12 = P. Nacua - Another dart, but rams are really thin at wr and I have heard good things about the kid
7.11 = T. Scott - Why not
Post draft roster:
QB: Mahomes
RB: JT, Pollard, Cook, Mckinnon, P. Strong, J. Warren, Hull
WR: Kupp, Diggs, Godwin, Dotson, Mims, Hodgins, Shaheed and other assorted sundries
TE: Tyler Conklin
K: Justin Tucker
