FFPC dynasty and redraft leagues thread (2 Viewers)

I don’t play best ball so I have never seen WR stacks before.
oh that's cool - there are different schools of thought and I typed up quite a bit about it back a couple pages. but stacking is *probably* better suited for the big tournaments where you're trying to advance thru rounds where you're competing with teams from other subleagues (of 12 teams like usual). So in other words if you have Burrow and Chase you're probably matched up against someone else that has Burrow and Chase. But do you have Higgins when he goes off in week 17? For example. So in the tourneys, stacking is arguably a necessity in order to compete with others who have the same "stacks" but you're hoping to get someone unique that has a big week when it matters and then you have leverage vs the field. So like maybe instead of Higgins it's Gesicki or Iosivas that has an outlier 2TD game in week 15 or something and it allows you to advance. That kind of thing.

But this FBG league we're doing is a pure 17 week points race that is internal and there are no playoffs. So stacking is a more limited strategy here and arguably not a good one per se. But the basic argument that one week DJ Moore goes off and another week Odunze goes off, then the fact that it is best ball means you've got their variance covered and you're hitting a spike week every week with both of them being rostered. (In a very silly vacuum but that's the idea).

In this case the fact this is SuperFlex and that I took Caleb Williams in the 3rd means I was committing to the idea of him helping me win the ship. It's drafting and committing to a scenario. So of course I'm going to want Bears receivers. Because that is the scenario I'm drafting to. Put another way, if Caleb busts this year then what does it matter what happens after that point in my draft? It's a miss regardless. Could you win this thing by drafting a QB in the 3rd who busts but by not stacking and finding other producers? **** maybe but that seems nutty to me.

New to SF as of a few weeks ago but this is my 8th draft. What I've noticed in these is the WR value has been insane, at least that's my opinion,

4.03-London- as I stated above I really was not trying to take a WR early unless value was extreme. This was it IMO. After securing my QB in round 3 I told
myself if any of London, AJB or Ladd make it back to me I'm going to have to alter my plan to take a QB or RB here and go with one of them.

5.10-Tua-one of the biggest disparity in players in how I view them in BB vs setting a lineup.

10.03- Tyler Warren-was between him and another rookie TE. Decided not to break Barack's heart. Similar to my Mixon selection, first time I've drafted him all year in FFPC and I'm about 20 drafts into it. If this team rocks it might mean I had a horrible fantasy season, lol.

tbc........
WR value is absolutely insane in these. Totally get the reasoning for London in the 4th. If you have a top tier WR on your board (or higher than what is out there) that you don't think should be there, take him. That is 100% what I did with Deebo instead of Loveland (he's gone now). Agreed totally on Tua. Such a different beast here.

Sure...and I'm in the boat with some others, I haven't done a superflex in close to 10years

From the 7 spot...
  • 1st - Joe Burrow: Felt he was the last of the sure fire bets at QB. Would not have minded another position, but wanted a true #1 QB
  • 2nd - Malik Nabers : Tons of targets is why I took him, but the QB situation is iffy at best. Considered all of the next 4-6 position players which were taken. I like all of them to some degree or another.
  • 3rd - George Kittle: Took him in the other draft we did, so maybe I am higher on him than consensus. With Ayuik coming back from injury, Pearsall being young felt Kittle should continue to see a lot of targets. Was hoping he would get to me. If a RB would have fallen then I probably would have taken them over Kittle. A little concerned about not grabbing a 2nd QB.
  • 4th - Tyreek Hill: It was Hill or Higgins for me. Both have injury concerns and a headcase concern for Hill. Hill is more boom or bust. But that boom is top 5 WR. Would have taken McCarthy if he made it all the way back, but comments posted already were clear that wasn't happening.
  • 5th - Jordon Love: Really wanted James Cook or Ken Walker. Cook will have TD regression, Walker fits the offense perfectly but injury issues. In the end felt Love might be the last of a tier and it was obvious 4-5 QBs were going before it got back to me. So hands tied a bit and had to take Love.
  • 6th - Mike Evans: This is probably my biggest draft weakness, the RBs I liked went and I think there is a decent drop off to the next. So rather than forcing a RB (which is probably better for my team build/construction), went with the WR I like. And just realized this is another player I took in the earlier $5 best ball we did. I need to do more drafts!
  • 7th - ...

  • 7th - Chubba Hubbard: ok no one is excited to draft Chubba Hubbard, but he's been effective. Could be an improving offense. Finished as RB 13 in this format for 2024. The upside of Swift was intriguing. Mixon made a lot of sense, I'm just out on him. If Mixon would have made it all the way back to me in the 8th I feel like I would have had to take him.
  • 8th - David Montgomery: even after Hubbard, have a desperate need for RB. Went safe and dependable versus the unknown and upside of all the other RBs going in this range. Finished as RB 16, if I can get similar results for Hubbard and Montgomery as 2024 I'll be happy.
  • 9th - Brian Robinson: hmm, everyone wants to replace Brain Robinson in his role for Washington. Injuries and game scripts took him out of play a bit last year. Lead guy in a high powered offense. Feel like this guy should be getting more love and everyone is down on him.
  • 10th - Calvin Ridley: really feel like I screwed this one up. The TE run was plain to see coming. I wanted to be early on the run. Ugh. I've always liked Ridley's talent. But Jacksonville didn't use him correctly IMO. Then in Tennessee his QBs were crap. Well maybe he now has a QB. If Ward is just decent, Ridley should see a ton of quality targets and outperform WR 41 easily. We shall see.
  • 11th - Zach Ertz: After Ridley had to get in the TE run. Preferred some of the guys who went. Wanted Hunter Henry, but he shares a bye week with Kittle and not knowing how far this TE run was going to go I couldn't risk it. Zach Ertz is ancient, but in a great offense. IF he can stay healthy, I'll be happy with this pick.
  • 12th - Hunter Henry: set my queue up and went to bed early. Woke up to Hunter Henry. Obviously happy with that. New England could have an improved offense. Henry may not lead them in targets like he did last season, but he's going to see enough of them. So after being annoyed with myself taking Ridley and passing on TE, feel like it kind of worked out being able to round out the TE room with Ertz and Henry. In FFPC scoring I find TEs get into your flex way more than you would expect them to. Happy to have these guys.

Boring value town in those mid rounds imo.

Won't argue with that comment at all, completely fair. A case can be made that Nabers is my only exciting pick.

Love your first 4 rounds. As I mentioned above, if I had gone QB in round 1 I probably take Nabers in round 2 ahead of you. With Deebo gone and Aiyuk being a major question mark and CMC being sort of a question mark, Kittle really does look like he could be TE1 or at least there is a path to it. I'm personally betting against it at ADP but I do understand it. And yeah Tyreek in BB this is almost criminal. Brian Robinson is one of my highest rostered players so far this offseason in BB and redraft and I'm with you I don't quite get it. I think he should be at least 2 rounds cheaper.

My thought process on the SF BB draft so far from the 11 slot:

1. Gibbs RB - my last slam-dunk 1st round RB from the big 3 of Bijan/Barkley/Gibbs, so I took him knowing I’d take best QB available 3picks later.
2. Mahommes QB - don’t love him here since his reputation outperforms his fantasy output the last year or 2, but he was definitely the Best QB available here imho
3. Dak QB - After seeing how the 20 picks went between my 2nd and 3rd round picks, and looking my tiers and position scarcity, I knew I wanted to go QB/WR at this 3/4 turn, so I took the QB I wanted most here at 3.11, since I had 3 WRs all ranked the same (McConkey, London , AJB)
4. McConkey WR - my highest ranked WR in this tier though there are 5-7 WRs that could be argued here.
5. Cook RB - a GIANT QB Run happened between my 4th and 5th picks, so I decided to go RB/WR at this 5/6 turn. I once again preferred one RB over a couple others, and had a few WRs I’d be happy with 3 picks later, so I went Cook.
6. JSN WR - my top WR at this point. Was happy to wait another round to grab my first TE.
7. AJones RB - position scarcity creeping up for RBs faster than WRs (of course) so took a solid flex RB in Jones here, and waited on TE since I had 3 of them grouped in the same tier and would take whichever one Saint didn’t take on his 2 picks at the turn.
8. Andrews TE - Best Available TE at this point imo. Felt like there was now a big tier drop at TE after this point, so happy to get him here
9. No clue. 20 picks is a looooooong wait. Will strategize once it hits me in the face.
Continuing to round 16…

9. Kraft TE - went back to back at TE since I waited so long on this position in a TE-P league. Love Kraft.
10. Meyers WR - finally grabbed my 3rd WR but love Meyer’s value this year.
11. Ekeler RB - meh but wanted my 4th RB here. Note: since I only had 2QBs in this SF league and the QB run was INSANE in the 3rd-6th rounds, I was strongly considering taking Shough here and then following up a few rounds later with Ritter to “lock up” the vaunted Saints offense ;) but I risked him falling past Saint on the 11/12 turn, but @Saint snipped him from me and there went that stupid plan.
12. Richardson QB - desperation 3rd QB who might not even start but I realized both of my drafted QBs had the same bye week (oy) so I needed someone with a pulse that might be playing starting QB in week 10.
13. Pittman WR - like his value here and I definitely need more WRs in this best ball format
14. RJohnson RB - another RB dart throw who hopefully gets goalline work
15. Kirk WR - need more WRs and I liked him best here
16. Theo Johnson TE - had to grab my 3rd TE at some point and I like his upside even though the offense might stink.
17. To be continued…

Looking back at this I think Kirk is gonna be the pick your thankful for. Think u wasted a pick on Richardson. I get that it's super flex and you were scrambling a bit, but I'd rather have Daniel Jones in the 20th round. Overall I think you've had a pretty dang good draft though. Your a proven adversity with good skill.

Daniel jones was taken in the 6th
No kidding. Gotta love super flex leagues. Ha ha

Yeah. Would’ve taken D Jones for sure if he dropped a little further than the 6th.

The only other options at QB on the board are all definitely backups or the 4 Browns QB.

For FFPC folks that have sold on dynastydepot, who pays the following year's FFPC entry fee in that case?

I have a team where I've already renewed and paid for the 2025 season. If I sell on dynastydepot do I get refunded that entry fee on FFPC, or does the buyer just have free entry for 2025?

If I wait and sell next offseason before I've paid the renewal. would I then be able to sell on dynastydepot before paying the 2026 renewal fee?

So I would be intersted in some dialogue on why you guys made the picks where you did. I am always interested in learning the strategy. So I'll start:

From the 12 seed:
  • 1/2 spot: Plan was to snag the best RB and WR. I figured the top QBs would be gone. With the SF spot, I felt that QBs would go fast, but I didn't want to overextend, so I planned on taking a QB at 3/4 turn. Was hoping Gibbs would fall, but was happy to snag Ashton Jeanty at the 12 spot. I felt he is going to have a massive workload and with Geno Smith, they got an upgrade at QB, so hoping that open's up the running lanes. For the 2 spot, I was planning on BPA of WR/TE/QB. I debated Mahomes, but felt I could get someone decent with upside coming back. Also debated McBride for the TE premium of FFPC. At the end I felt, like Jefferson had the better spot with a low floor and high ceiling. I thought the value at WR would be much thinner coming back around and I wsa hoping Kittle would come back on the turn.
  • 3/4 spot: Had to grab a QB here for me after going Jeanty/Jefferson. Was hoping for Dak, but joey sniped him right in front. Looking at available QBs, debated on Maye and a few others, but felt like a slight reach for McCarthy made sense to stack him with JJ. With the 4 spot, I was excited to snag AJ Brown as I thought he would have been gone by then. So with JJ/AJB at WR I felt like I have solid target hogs for the WR and should be contending. Looked at the RBs but I felt like they were deep and I would have a decent pick at the 5/6. Also debated double tapping QB with Maye, but felt like the value was higher with AJB.
  • 5/6 spot: Well, I thought QBs would have been still there, but they really dried up. Probably should have double tapped at 3/4, but I took Geno Smith as best value and a slight stack with Jeanty. Didn't feel enraptured by the pick but it is what it is. From the 6 spot I debated on whether or not to go RB/WR/TE. Looking at the positions, I really wanted to pull the trigger on JSN, but I also felt the next tier of RB would be dried up by the time it came back to me. So I ended up debating on RBs and I felt KWIII was probably the last in the tier after Joey grabbed Cook.
  • 7/8 spot: Well credit to @NE_REVIVAL for having the same strategy of double tapping TE at the turn. When I grabbed Geno and KW, I was hoping Hockenson would come back, but nice move by him to lock them up. I like both Njoku and Engram in TE premium best ball and I doubted they would come back. So easy call here. I debated Andrews but I can’t see Baltimore keeping Likely off the field.
  • 9/10 spot: With only two RBs, I knew I needed to draft a RB here and then best WR available. Was hoping to get Pollard or BRob, but with both of those gone, I opted for Jaylen Warren. Not a big fan, but decent for the bye week. From a WR side, I had several in mind and they were all available. Looking at Addison, I could complete the QB+WR/WR stack with Minnesota which will hopefully be high scoring in the KOC offense. Felt good about that, but if JJ McCarthy sucks, then this draft is toast. So I am all in on the MIN Train at this point.
  • 11/12: I had planned on double tapping RBs but they went off the board so I snagged the cheap Pollard backup. Looked around and saw Shough still available and thinking he may be the last of the QB starters so worth the swing. Sorry @joey.
  • 13/14: Wanted to snag one of Golden/Diggs/Pittman but they all got sniped so went with Tillman here. I forgot about Waller so grabbed Friermuth thinking he would finish out the TE squad. I liked Tillman here as a large upside pick if he regains his form from early in the season.
  • 15/16: RBs are pretty much gone. Really should have drafted one earlier. Looking back I probably shouldn’t have double tapped TEs and grabbed another RB. So I grabbed LLoyd in case he gets playing time now that he’s not injured. Pat Bryant I have been a fan of. Lots of news out of Denver comparing him to Brandon Marshall, so figured at this point passing for the fences.

FWIW if I only had two starting QB's I'd have taken one of these two before you had a chance.

Phew.

So it appears from this thread that most drafters (like myself) do not play much SF. I we do another, can we go single QB? These mock (basically) drafts are useful for preparing for the season long drafts coming up soon.

works for me. I have been referring to cheap BB drafts as "mocking" for the better part of the last 10 years. There is no better data than people putting actual money in the pot. Plus for the time involved why not make it worth your while a little?

but yeah I was sort of hoping we would just keep running these back over and over. I'm still interested in doing the $35 SF BB Tourney with all FBG members but also still down for the $5 isolated leagues, whether SF or 1QB. But let's keep them going.

Continuing on with zero rb build

08.12: Jaylen Waddle - liked Waddle b4 the trade, like him even more now
09.01: Isiah Pacheco - thrilled to get him
10.12: Ricky Pearsall - wanted to go rb here, but couldn't pass on his upside
11.01: Travis Etienne - I like Jags offense to improve with Cohen and really need to start stacking rbs
12.12: Josh Downs - would have taken Benson, who sadly he went right b4 my pick, couldn't pass on Downs a rd and a half past his adp
13.01: Isaac Guerendo - fading CMC
14.12: Jarquez Hunter - stacking rbs
15.01: Will Shipley - stacking rbs
16.12: Kyle Williams - if Maye breaks out I believe Williams will be one of the reasons why
17.01: Jalen Milroe - a dart throw who might help me down the stretch

So I would be intersted in some dialogue on why you guys made the picks where you did. I am always interested in learning the strategy. So I'll start:
I'm in the 8 spot. My strategy for almost anything is first and foremost that my goal is to drive my enemies before me and hear the lamentations of their women.

Then I reverse engineer from there. So, from the 8 spot thus far:

1st - Bijan
2nd - Kyler
3rd - Caleb Williams
4th - Herbert
5th - Harrison
6th - Hampton
7th - Will Lisa find out Bob has been banging Carol behind her back? Will Tiffany leave George? Will George care? Tune in next week folks (ok like tomorrow) on the Days of our Drafts
Well gosh turned out the 7th was a bit predictable yet somehow controversial. I picked DJ Moore at ADP to pair with Caleb Williams. I'm not really going to try and explain that one further. Hehe.

8th - RJ Harvey - are running backs important in fantasy football, Bob? Why yes they are Rick. Now stay away from Carol or I'll cut you. Ok cereal though just looked like great value. I'm a fan and think he can really dominate in Denver and should probably be more expensive. Gotta get as many RBs as I can after going QB heavy early. With Bijan and Hampton before him and so Harvey as my RB3 per the draft, I am actually flirting with QB and RB both being team strengths. Have obviously punted on TE to this point and with only 2 WRs at this point I'm a bit concerned about that position. But. Positively giddy I got Kyler/Harrison and Caleb/Moore. But I still believe WR is king in FFPC and only having two through 8 rounds is suboptimal in my brain. But as has been said, the positions value in SF is staggering sometimes.

9th - Rome Odunze - I mean... do I really need to? Checks every box except for the too many mouths to feed problem. That isn't a best ball problem and I think Odunze wins leagues this year anyway. In a vacuum I like this pick better and am largely fading DJ Moore. Really not a homer take I barely ever endorse Bears. I do like Swift though.

10th - Deebo Samuel - this is where I shocked the world and didn't take the obvious pick in Loveland. And still hadn't taken a TE either. Deebo shouldn't be going this late in BB and I need more WRs. More. I would have otherwise loved to have taken Loveland there but for me this is perhaps the glaring example of my draft where I didn't reach across a value tier in order to stack. I don't think Loveland would have been a reach there at all, but Deebo shouldn't have been there and I love the TE depth this year so I'm not worried about that.

11th - Emeka Egbuka - one of my highest rostered players in best ball and redraft so far this season. Wish I'd got more in dynasty. 5 WRs thru 11 rounds is better but still super thin and I do think the position eventually falls a cliff. Did not expect Loveland to come back to me at 11 by the way but would have had a decision here if so.

12th - Isaiah Likely - finally my first TE. Not even gonna tell you I believe in him in terms of his opportunity but I certainly believe in his path and in how much the Ravens believe in him. I don't know about targets but I do know the best ball removes all that variance. There is of course also a path to total dominance in certain scenarios. Punting on TE in best ball, regardless of SF or not, is basically trying to assemble a high-end TE1 in aggregate like Billy Beane in Moneyball. Grabbing 4 back end flyers at the position can be a winning play and studies have shown this. Obviously you have to hit on the right players though. I have plenty I'm targeting in this one.

13th - Keon Coleman - I think he *could* be one of the league winning stories we look back on later afterwards and say why didn't we see this coming and why was he going in the 13th? There is just waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much upside here. And in best ball his floor is nothing to be concerned with but honestly even in managed leagues I think he balls out and becomes a weekly starter. Or at least there is a viable path to that. I know the Bills are on record for talking about wanting to spread things out but I think Coleman *can* take the next step and command targets over the likes of the JAG role players on the roster. I'm quietly slowly but surely turning WR into a team strength along with QB but starting to do it at the expense of my RB strength, at least in terms of my depth at RB. TE is obv still the punt.

14th - Tre Harris - ok another mini shocker in not taking Luther Burden to add onto my Bears stack. But I also have Herbert and have zero faith Mike Williams even plays or if he makes it more than a few weeks. McConkey is about to win leagues and Harris was quoted as saying he likes to eat cornerbacks souls. I'm leaning into WR here but to be honest I think there is a path for Burden to totally take over in Chicago while I see Harris as very very solid #2 option that can catch TD jump balls in a way McConkey can't. TD upside is good in BB. In the 14th round. But I will admit this is probably a similar reach to when I took Harrison over JSN who I ranked one notch higher, however in this case a stack is being worked either way. So IDK kind of a coin flip and decided max fun for me was to pair with Herbert.

15th - Darren Waller - upside city. Might be a wasted pick. I'm not done at the position yet. RB is now officially more of a weakness. Great to be top heavy but the depth is going to be an issue unless I unlock the right codex of late RBs. This is a manifestation of the fear I expressed earlier about going heavy QB early. But I also think this roster is headed in the direction of dominance if I can close this out just right. And I don't think I love the odds but I do actually like this team as it sits right now thru 15. Notice I'm not talking about Waller or TE. Just still not worried about it. It's the least scoring position in fantasy and has been since forever. Even in TEP.

16th - DJ Giddens - IDK maybe he will be Taylor's direct back up maybe not. Is the offense going to be any good IDK. All the drumbeats seem to be that he is going to be heavily involved in the passing game in a Nyheim Hines kind of way but with the ability and size to be an early down back when needed. That's about as good as you can find on the board at this point and in PPR and in best ball those types of backs can give you what you need.

17th - am up in a few picks but thru 16 I've got:

QB - 3
RB - 4
WR - 7
TE - 2

Thought I would share my recent superflex draft since you all have done some drafts. From the 7th spot.

1 Burrow, Joe QB CIN

Pacheco in the 9th round on a zero RB build for your 1st RB is just gorgeous. Yeah love the build concept and the execution of it. Whether I agree with player X or Y or not. And yeah love grabbing those value WRs that you believe in as you're sprinkling in the RBs. That's basically the way.

Pacheco was a gift for sure.

It will be interesting to see how this turns out. Even for zero RB this one seemed really late to start stacking RBs. Usually I would expect that to start somewhere in the 6th-8th round range and to have 3 of them by the start of the 11th round (compared to one here). That's one of the tricky things about zero RB, when it gets time to start taking them it's hard to pull the trigger on a longshot RB when there are still really good options on the board at other positions like Waddle/Pearsall.

I agree it is super late to start stacking the RBs but it's also ensuring dominance at WR, or attempting to anyway.

Now, another zero RB build in this draft is by @Marauder who went Bowers, Nacua, Fields, Goff (holy crap I love that start a lot). They took their first RB in just the 5th round though, quite a bit earlier than the Pacheco pick. And then they took their 2nd RB, Henderson in the 8th, still before the Pacheco pick. But, and this is just my opinion, by beginning to grab RBs in the 5th the way they did, they are now thru 16 rounds with just 5 WRs. Obviously there are more on the board still, but my argument, and others that are the industry pushers* of zero-RB theory, is that this undermines the entire point of going with zero RB. Which is to be abso frickin lutely 100% dominant at WR. And QB and TE. You're punting on RB in order to absolutely smash elsewhere. I think @NE_REVIVAL has managed to do this but my humble and respectful opinion is Marauder might end up weak at WR and I think that is fatal in FFPC BB. But. Marauder looks much much better at RB and the sort of hanging question we all might have is how long before the WR cliff falls? Because there is still room for that lineup to improve with 4 rounds to go. I also think Bowers still has the chance to be the biggest advantage in FF this year and Marauder should be dominant at QB. Not trying to be critical sorry, just trying to contrast the two zero-RB builds. I really do like them both I fear one will be weak at WR and the other needs those late RBs to hit.

*pushers will also emphasize that if you think it's silly to take *another* WR it isn't. They *often* don't take their first RB until 8th or later and will tell you the biggest mistake zero-RB drafters make is to take their first RB too early.

**ok so huge caveat to all this is that with SuperFlex it is arguable whether Marauder's build is even zero-RB at all. If you take most of the QBs off then Kamara is more like a 3rd or early 4th rounder no? I think that illustrates the variance of SF itself. There are so many directions you might go.

I've put teams up for sale on DynastyDepot, but I've never successfully sold one (nor have I bought a team). However, if you sell a team, I'm almost positive you get your deposit back, and the buyer pays his own deposit. Then, whatever the sale price of the team was, you get that, minus the site's cut of the sale. (I believe the rules say that you cannot sell a team until you pay the renewal fee.)

For the record, I've successfully sold teams through the FFPC's own orphans page immediately after the fantasy season ends. They don't take a cut, but you do have to pay the deposit, so if it doesn't sell, you're stuck with the team. DD allows you to sell teams anytime during the offseason, though, while FFPC cuts off sales in late March/April.

I've had two best ball dynasty FFPC teams where I committed to compiling as many first-round picks as possible and did my best to make my own pick as early as I could, and then I immediately listed those teams with FFPC after the season. Both sold at around 80%-90% of the buy-in.

No need to apologize. I mostly agree with you. The funny thing is the Kamara pick was kind of a last minute decision. I was going to take JSN there, or if he wasn't there, MHJR but I was scared away because they both have a week 8 bye and 3 of my first 4 picks also have a week 8 bye. In Best ball you can't punt one week. Probably a bad decision on my part although I do think Kamara is underrated in BB so I'm not totally unhappy about it.

I wasn't really thinking in terms of a zero RB build. I actually wanted to get one RB fairly early and almost took Achane in round 2 but I couldn't pass up Puka.

I thought your strategy was just to be a thorn in my side, lol.

Took two of my RB handcuffs and two prized stacks I wanted in Waddle and Ricky P, both of whom I intended to take when I took Tua and Purdy(one of the reason I went Purdy over Dak) but both times I knew when I had to take one of them or stand a 90% chance of losing them I was faced with value or need I could not ignore.

Your team looks dominant at everything but RB, which is kind of obvious. I think their are easier team builds to win a league but I really like this approach in the national tournaments, where a timely injury or two that vaults the performance of one or more of those handcuffs starts putting your team in a position where it's just top to bottom strong all over, provided good health of course.

Another live $35 BB Tourney bullet fired a couple nights ago. From the 9:

Burrow, Nix, Tua
Henry, Hampton, Skattebo, Brooks, B Smith, Tucker
Tyreek, Sutton & Mims, Flowers, Odunze, Burden, Egbuka
Likely, Taylor, T Ferguson, Gadsden

I’d be game for another and we can do a single qb draft. I know it took a bit to get everyone engaged, so I can reach out and have another one set up but I’ll need to confirm who’s interested.

  • 17/18: Continuing to look at upside WRs for Bestball. QJ for the chargers will have some role and if he *ever* figures it out, he could be decent if he keeps Tre Harris off the board. Of course if Harris continues to hold out, this could be a steal. Biggest knock on the chargers is they are a run-first team, so passes are limited so hopefully some best ball opportunities. On the other side, I love the potential in Bech. Figured what the heck.
  • 19/20: To finish it off, I needed another RB and WR. Why not a take a 7th rd pick from the Commanders? Camp news have been buzzing about the guy, but he's a long-shot. For the last set of picks, figured if he pushes out McNichols and gets playing time, may be a surprise. Last Tre Tucker, he was up and down last year, but hey, it's best ball, so why not. Ironically, I think I own basically the 2nd tier passing offense of the Raiders.... Jeanty, Smith, Tucker, Bech... well... they should be throwing a lot from behind... so maybe something will pan out.
Lessons from this Draft:
  1. I liked my draft up till Rd 7/8. I thought it was a good idea to double tap TE, but in hindsight, I should have gone TE/WR and grabbed Devonta or Waddle.
  2. I figured to lock up a 3rd TE in Rd 13 for TE premium, but looking at the board state, I took him too soon. I should have gone after another WR there. Was debating about Legette, Mims, Shaheed or Burden.
  3. Of course, once the season plays out, we'll see where else I suck. :shades:

Nice drafting everyone and I am game for another as well if folks are interested! I really enjoyed reading the pick analysis from everyone. I think it makes this thread way more valuable.

New to SF as of a few weeks ago but this is my 8th draft. What I've noticed in these is the WR value has been insane, at least that's my opinion, just pushed back way more then RB and TE. Recently finished a draft in this format from the 12 spot and my first 7 picks were all QB's and RB's and still really liked the WR group(not so much the TE's). So all things being close to equal wanted to try it again, so came into the draft with goal of pounding away at QB's and RB's early, maybe mix in a TE if all worked out, and only go WR if extreme value presented itself-which it did.

1.10 Barkley-was between him and Gibbs.

2.03- CMC-was thinking a little about the two players I picked him between, Mahomes and McBride. Mahomes decision was made for me.

3.10- Purdy-posted earlier it was between him and Dak. Having CMC is what swung me from angle of stacking/consistency.

6.03-Bryce- Wanted that third secure starting QB, better play at end of season, extra weapon and stinky D should give me some weeks, this and Tua were actually my two easiest calls relative to QB options to choose from.

7.10- Tet McMillan-second time I dipped into a WR earlier then I thought due to Bryce stack.

8.03- Mixon-considered him or Harvey with this pick, and would have taken both if Carolina stack did not present itself. Holy hell are my RB's old and I'm one of the most age averse drafters you will see, and why I considered Harvey over him. I've not drafted Mixon this year and pretty light on the whole old trio but for $5 at least I won't totally get shut out.

9.10- Olave-played this wrong. Wanted Kraft a little more then Olave but looking at the board and ADP I played odds I could get both. Fail.

10.03- Tyler Warren-was between him and another rookie TE. Decided not to break Barack's heart. Similar to my Mixon selection, first time I've drafted him all year in FFPC and I'm about 20 drafts into it. If this team rocks it might mean I had a horrible fantasy season, lol.

tbc........
To wrap it up

11. Rhamondre Stevenson-last RB available I have confidence is his teams starting RB, a role I believe he holds all season.

12-14. Jaydon Reed, Diggs and Shaeed- when you can get dudes like this in the 12-14th round is why I only wanted to take a WR early if the value was great and/or clearly the BPA by a wide margin.

15. Jaylen Wright-expecting a lot of improvement in an offense we are a year out from supporting two high end Rb's.

16-18- Juwan Johnson, Schultz and Arroyo- going kitchen sink mode at what is by far my weakest positoin.

19- Kendre Miller-rarely availalbe but I needed another RB and still believe he has upside, plus when you can get a 4 player stack on a team with a shaky QB you got to do it, right?

20. Diontae Johnson-if he can keep his head togehter should at least be solid if not a steal....or just as easily lose it and be done done.

Enjoyed it all!

Yeah, I prefer single QB and 6 hour timer.

Finishing up my draft…

17. Higbee TE - wanted a 4th TE in this TE-P BB setup and Higbee seemed like a fine enough option on a good offense with a rookie TE being hyped ahead of him and who knows if the rookie TE gets significant time in his first year.
18. Corum RB - young, upside RB in a good offense, with good camp buzz. Didn’t realize til typing this that I went back to back Rams at these 2 picks.
19. Rattler NO - missed out on Shough earlier and I wasn’t going to let Saint snipe me of his vaunted backup on this amazingly potent offense on a team that is destined for greatness this year. And other lies I’ve made up.
20. Lockett WR - was going to go Tre Tucker here for homer, best ball upside, but Saint sniped me in retaliation for me taking Rattler 3 picks earlier. He’s really upset about my Rattler pick and has reported me to the FBG Staff for my rudeness and unprofessional behavior.

I think I’m generally digging the results of this draft.
2 very good QBs (Mahomes + Dak) plus 2 dart throws, 1 of which I need to be playing in week 10 for the bye week.
3 starting RBs (Gibbs+Cooks+AJones) plus 3 depth pieces. I’d rather have 3 starters to chose from in BB and wait a little on WR, than the opposite. Old school stud RB bias ;)
2 very good WRs (McConkey+JSN) plus a few starting WR undervalued players imho (Meyers+Pittman+Kirk) plus the old but spikey Lockett.
2 solid TEs (Andrews+Kraft) and 2 just-in-case TEs (Theo Johnson+Higbee)

No clue what my chances are, honestly. I don’t do much SF (and never a SF BB) so I was flying by the seat of my pants for the most part.

I’d be game for an another $5, 1QB, 6 hour league if it happens.

7th - DJ Moore
8th - RJ Harvey
9th - Rome Odunze
10th - Deebo Samuel
11th - Emeka Egbuka
12th - Isaiah Likely
13th - Keon Coleman
14th - Tre Harris
15th - Darren Waller
16th - DJ Giddens
17th - T Ferguson - I think he takes over the role as a rookie and has a path to significant production.
18th - Gadsden - I think he takes over the role as a rookie and has a path to significant production. Also stacked with Harris, Hampton and Herbert. Gives me 4 TE which can and hopefully will translate to weekly TE1 production and the occasional FLEX.
19th - Tucker - Talented RB in a good offense with the most hated RB in the planet ahead of him on the depth chart. If he really is going to usurp White then this can be a league winning pick and I do in fact still need RBs in this thing.
20th - Monangai - I really don't know if there is anything to see here but 6th RB on my team, has some upside and is stacked with Caleb/Odunze/Moore

Final Roster Costruction:
QB - 3
RB - 6
WR - 7
TE - 4

There is a $5 SF BB room open right now with 12 seats but the 1QB version only has 9 seats at the moment. I'm talking about a 6 hour clock for both.

1.5 - Hurts last tier 1 qb. could finish qb1
2 - Achane rb6 another guy who can finish 1 at his position
3 - Baker as qb9. surprised he was still available so kinda had to.
4 - Tee Higgins wr14. I dont do much superflex so I feel lucky when big time players fall to me in round 4
5 - Breece Hall RB13. Same story different round
6 - Rodgers qb28. last lock starter imo.
7 - omg another guy fell to me or something...

Also I got sniped on all 3 big stacks AJB/Evans/DKM
7 Sutton, Courtland. WR DEN - good wr depth in SF
8 Smith, DeVonta WR PHI - really like this pair here in 7/8 to start most weeks
9 Pollard, Tony RB TEN - one of the last starters at rb here
10 Ferguson, Jake TE DAL - think he’ll bounce back this year
11 Loveland, Colston TE CHI - waiting on TE means I need a couple mid round guys
12 Blue, Jaydon RB DAL - has a moderate chance to take over the highest snap % but should at least have some 3rd down value
13 Higgins, Jayden WR HOU - real nice compliment to Collins
14 Allen, Braelon RB NYJ - why not handcuff Breece
15 Bateman, Rashod WR BAL - love for BB as don’t have to know when his blow up games are coming
16 Okonkwo, Chig TE TEN - hopefully a reliable target for Ward
17 McMillan, Jalen WR TB - is Godwin actually healthy? If not this pick may be quite useful
18 Fant, Noah TE SEA - rookie TEs need a little time. Fant should be playable this year.
19 Ford, Jerome RB CLE - was reading the Judkins news. Why not.
20 Sanders, Shedeur CLE - wanted the Rattler but this is a similar upside possible qb4 dart

The Ford pick in 19 was fantastic. I was planning on the same. Well played.

Yeah, I am in for single QB, 6 hour. I have a bit going on in the near future, so if 2 hour is preferable, that's fine but I'll skip that run, I can't commit to the shorter time frame.

Future 1st definitely continue to be more expensive every year. I'm doing a $750 triflex startup and I offered my mid-6th for a future 1st to every team in the league and didn't get a single bite. In the past there's usually been several people in most leagues willing to move a future 1st for mid 6th. Got two counters of future 1st for 5.05, everyone else just a straight reject. And in a projected weak draft class for 2026 no less.

I think it's definitely league-specific, but a rookie 1st for a startup 6th does seem to be the most logical starting point. I did a $500 Triflex startup a month ago, and before the draft started, someone traded a rookie 1st and 2nd for the 6.03 and 10.03, which I thought was fine. A day later, another guy traded the 3.07 (which ended up being Barkley) for a rookie 1st and 2nd. Bruh wyd

I'd more than likely snap pay my future 1st in a TriFlex startup to grab a mid 6th. Off the top of my head I'd need to actually look at the board first but there are usually *plenty* of young studs in the mid 6th.

Ok looking back at a TriFlex startup I did in April - 6th round included DJ Moore, Egbuka, Ward, Loveland, Jamo, Flowers, Waddle, (Judkins), Walker, Hockenson

New startup and got the draft positions today. Within an hour, a trade was made and one of the participants in the trade is wanting the trade overturned, saying he meant to include the other teams 2026 1st but he was driving while he offered the trade and forgot to click the box. Probably true since the trade was really bad, but still.

Will be interesting to see how this ends if the other guy tells him to F off. Can't imagine FFPC would step in.

Lucky #6 position for me.

Can't imagine FFPC would step in.
They will typically reverse a trade if one of the participants indicates the trade was accepted or offered in error.

I've had it happen to me multiple times actually, were my trade was reversed when the other owner said it was done in error.
Yeah, just got the email that it was reversed by FFPC.

I get it, but put on your big boy pants and do things right. This one was pretty obvious though. But probably a lot of buyers remorse situations as well once the accept button is hit.

Yes I've seen multiple ffpc trades reversed when accepted or offered in error and I don't really have a problem with it when it was clearly an error.
Feel the same way. Just like to know in a timely manner, once had one overturned about 8 hours later and that one bothered me.

I think proper etiquette should be to notify your trade partner that you accepted an offer in error, and I always tell people if you inform me of that we don’t need to wait for the FFPC to reverse it if you tell me that .

OK but I’m amazed that “errors” occur at this level as much as they seem to. I can honestly say that I have never offered or accepted a trade my mistake in the 24 years I have played FF and I make a lot of trades. Seems like some of these are more of a buyers remorse situation. Trades a trade as far as I’m concerned 🍻

I've never had one that got to the point of needing to get reversed but I have screwed up before where it could have. The other guy was actually nice and let me know. It was something like startup 3rd for startup 8th straight up where I obviously left a pick out.

I think usually it happens because people are out trying to get something done on their phones when on a timer like a startup draft. In my case I was out at a work dinner but a guy fell in the draft so I wanted to trade up for the pick before the guy picked so I was trying to discretely send it out quickly while distracted.
