FFPC dynasty and redraft thread (11 Viewers)

Yes I've seen multiple ffpc trades reversed when accepted or offered in error and I don't really have a problem with it when it was clearly an error.
Feel the same way. Just like to know in a timely manner, once had one overturned about 8 hours later and that one bothered me.

I think proper etiquette should be to notify your trade partner that you accepted an offer in error, and I always tell people if you inform me of that we don’t need to wait for the FFPC to reverse it if you tell me that .

Last year I kept getting multiple variations of offers that included me sending Trey McBride and the 1.05 (Triflex league). I kept rejecting. Finally he sent me one for McBride only, not the 1.05. I still sat on it for 16 hours before accepting. About an hour later he had FFPC reverse it then sent me the same offer I'd already rejected and said, "It was meant to be this one." Really rubbed me the wrong way because it seemed disingenuous, like he just regretted that I accepted it. I'm in multiple leagues with this guy and every one of his offers is an instant reject from me.

I do think that there are guys who take advantage of FFPC's trade reversal policy. I triple-check offers before I send them.

OK but I’m amazed that “errors” occur at this level as much as they seem to. I can honestly say that I have never offered or accepted a trade my mistake in the 24 years I have played FF and I make a lot of trades. Seems like some of these are more of a buyers remorse situation. Trades a trade as far as I’m concerned 🍻
I m with you here. I have not been playing as long (16 years) but never have I accepted an offer in error.
I know mistakes happen.

One time, I was driving and got an FFPC trade offer alert. I got to a stop light like 30 seconds later, so I looked at the email, and it was a snap accept. Light was still red, so I went to accept and the guy already withdrew it. I was so pissed.

Been playing fantasy for 10000 years and it happened to me twice just last year. Total oversight and sloppiness on my part.
In both cases, I messaged the other owner immediately AND also messaged the league chat to let them know there was a screw up, and the other owner and I reversed the mistake ourselves. No ill intent or try to take advantage of anything.

Heck, I just remembered that one was in our SharkPool FFPC league where we were discussing a trade for Rashee Rice…but then actually traded the wrong Rice! (Brendan). lol. So we quickly swapped Rice’s to fix the mistake.

This trade just went down in that same league:

Team A gets:
1.07
6.06
13.07

Team B gets:
2.02
4.02
15.11

Decent trade. Except team B also gets:

2026 1st
2026 2nd
2026 5th

He better nail that 1.07 pick for this one to work out.

Will have to agree to disagree, I have played in a lot of lgs over a lot of years and mistakes\errors happen. If I do a trade and the other owner quickly realizes an error and wants the trade cancelled I got no problem with that whatsoever. I have seen FFPC reverse many and afaic you kinda have to be a **** to screw another owner over a what amounts to a typo.

Offering and accepting trades isn’t rocket science. It should be extremely rare to make an error but seems to be fairly common in FFPC which is generally more experienced players. Pay better attention is the easier solution.

Just seems an easy out if someone has buyers remorse after the transaction.

All examples given in recent posts are NOT buyer’s remorse. They’re honest mistakes.

You’re expecting too high a level of perfection for a Fairy Tale Football hobby. IMHO

I remember when I was commissioner of an intense 96 team league, there were two teams that made an erroneous trade and it blew up into a huge circus. Some people were complaining it was imbalanced and demanded I veto it immediately. One person wrote a scathing few paragraphs about it. The two parties both had long agreed (in a GroupMe chat) that it was an error and were demanding I veto it and reverse it and I was actually quite busy that day. But the broken lines of communication between GroupMe, the MFL message board, personal emails, etc., led to some hard feelings by folks and kind of an ugly scene. Before I had blinked there were soooo many people getting iry about it.

Finally after all kinds of back and forth between the others, I logged in and was like "why didn't you guys just make another trade to fix it?" and everyone immediately shut up.

There was another time a similar bunch of heat was created over someone potentially timing out. They were demanding I kick them out. I'm like has anyone reached out thru email? Literally got one response of "I didn't think of that"

These error trades really don't happen that often but it should really be the sportsmanlike thing to do to reverse them if it's caught timely. No I don't know what timely is per se but I've never seen it be a problem.

nah that part isn't true at all. Think of it like the 2/4 poker table somewhere in Vegas. That's a table you probably need to buy in for $1000 in chips and you will see sharks but you see *lots* of tourists just being drunk and silly with their money. Frankly *some* of the FFPC players are really terrible IMHO.

Yeah. I guess but when you "pisss excellence", it's a curse that follows you forever :wall:

I'm actually fine with the one trade that was reversed because it was pretty obvious, but just wondering where they draw the line if one team isn't good with the reversal.

I was not Ok when a trade of mine was reversed several years ago about 8 hours after it was consumated. Those 8 hours were normal business hours, I don't recall the exact trade but it was not egregious, guy never said anything, for pretty much a whole day I thought I'd made a trade and then it got pulled so I was not happy with it and let it be known. It did not change the outcome. Was just told the person made the trade offer in error and did not have access to send an email earlier.

I've had other two trades overturned for user error, both times it was me accepting their offers, and frankly I thought they made a mistake when offering the trades but what do you do-negotiate against yourself?

So for me I was perfectly ok with two of them being reversed, I'd have personally reversed all 3 of them if my trading partner had immediately requested it, but to answer your question I was not happy with one of the reversals due to the signficant time delay of being notified but it did not change the outcome.

Last thing I'm going to say on this is that like most of you I've highly competitive and badly want to win. But I'm not trying to win because someone made an input error or hit the wrong button, that takes a shine off the accomplishment and I sure as hell don't want to lose championships because someone else in my league took advantage of someone's error either. Neither of these scenarios is a way anyone should root for a league championship to be decided so I'm always going to be good with the way FFPC handles this though you'd like to see it handled in a timely manner.

Fair enough. My examples were definitely a case of both sides saying “whoops!” And correcting the errors themselves.

I play in a league where all trades have to be posted and both teams have to confirm they are good with the trade before it's approved. I hate that part of the league because I am constantly amazed by the amount of "oops I meant to decline, not accept that trade". Improbable that they were all accidents and not buyers remorse so that probably jaded me a bit here.

Superflex BB Tourney:

Mahomes, Fields
Gibbs, Brian Robinson, Blue, Benson, Hunter, Tucker
Tyreek, Wilson, Worthy, Jamo, Odunze, Coleman, Thornton, Royals
Kincaid, Strange, Arroyo, T Ferguson

IDK

I guess keeping the $5 best ball drafts going died.
My august got totally swamped AND this is when my other league draft prep start ramping up, so I’m out for another one.

But I did FOUR Best Balls (3 with some number of SharkPoolers) thru June and July and they were fun as hell, got me through the football abyss in that time of year, and were amazingly educational. I plan on doing a similar thing next year as well.
