finley injury? (1 Viewer)

Do you Finley owners have a good back up, or are you going to have to make a deal ? If so, who will you be targeting ? I have Carlson and not really sold on him obviously.

i'm thinking about picking up heath miller. he hasn't done anything thus far, but Ben is back now so I expect his numbers to pick up. someone dropped kellen winslow last week and i may pick him up. i'm on the bottom of the waiver wire so he may be gone by the time i get to pick.

I have Gronkowski, but Quarless didn't look too bad in relief of Finley yesterday. I may pick him up.

Pack beat writer Greg Bedard said, "a couple weeks."
didn't he hurt his chest jumping into the stands celebrating his touchdown? reminds me of when bill gramatica tore his acl when he was jumping up and down celebrating a kick he made.

Jermichael Finley headed for surgery

Disaster was avoided for the Packers offense…sort of. An MRI has determined that Packers tight end Jermichael Finley will need surgery. However, it is just a minor knee scope. Jason La Canfora of NFL Network believes the budding young superstar will be out 3-4 weeks. Others have suggested 6-8 weeks. Either way, the Packers expect to have Finley for the stretch run.

Still, it’s unknown how effective Finley will be upon his return. So much of his impact is predicated on athleticism. Exacerbating matters for Green Bay is the fact that backup Donald Lee is out for a few weeks after injuring his shoulder against the Redskins. Third-string tight end Andrew Quarless showed fluid athleticism and decent awareness filling in for the injured veterans Sunday; don’t be surprised if the fifth-round rookie winds up keeping the No. 2 job once Lee gets back.

Wow, some think up to EIGHT WEEKS OUT.

I'm really glad I picked up Aaron Hernandez now. Shouldn't lose much in terms of production.

I hope you're right. I did the same thing last week.

Lucky that I grabbed Keller off of waivers. Sometimes it's good to grab someone doing well even if you don't have an automatic spot for them.

By the way, I assume Finley is performing the surgery himself, correct?

I've got Z. Miller and Keller so I might cut him.

even if he's out 6 weeks, that still makes for a great later season/playoff push.you must have real short benches to even consider this.

I guess everyone forgets but this is a replay of last year Finley got injured in week 6 last year...a knee injury.

He missed 3 weeks and came back week 10

He should be back for week 11 at the latest since they bye week 10.

I pray someone waives him in 1 of my leagues I will find a way to stash him for 5 weeks.

CUT IN REDRAFT?.....wait, I already did.Doubt he is worth a damn upon his return anyways, and they will not rush him back.
I think that's a dumb move.
Depends on the kind of league. Only real league I have Finley in is a high stakes league. Almost every high stakes league runs 11 week regular seasons. So leagues like WCOFF, FFPC, the FFPC Football guys leagues, and 12 team NFFC are all 11 week regular seasons. Cutting him in those type of leagues is a viable option.Could get real interesting in those leagues if people cut him. Allowing another playoff bound team to pick him up could be huge.

Small rosters in my redraft league. We have to have 2 te's and my other one is heath miller. In this league I can PIR finley and that means i cant use him for 3 weeks even if he comes back week 7. So right now i can pick up either Quarrels (the GB backup) or Moeki....I think im gonna go with the KC TE....
