Darryl Tapp - playing opposite Kearney, I'd think he might get some pretty good points in Big Play leagues

Dewayne White and Shaun Rogers - do they lose value this season being apart?

Justin Tuck - without Strahan, he probably plays a true DE, with Strahan, he kinda plays an undertackle, right? Which is better for him?

John Abraham - is he still good for 10 sacks, or is age getting the best of him? He seemed to do pretty well last season with the dirty birds

Tamba Hali and Jared Allen - okay, we all know that Allen was a freak, but how does Hali do without Allen opposite him?

Aaron Kampman and Corey Williams - does Williams gain value with Rogers, or are they competing for time? How is Cleveland going to use Rogers and Williams at the same time? What about Kampman, how much does he lose now that Williams isn't around to draw attention away from him?

Out of the guys mentioned...

Hali: as a KC homer, I've always liked this guy, but he has yet to break out. This year he'll be on the RE, and won't have to face bumps and blocks from TE's. Should have a 10+ sack year.

Abraham: He's just turned 30, and should be ok through this year. He has the high draft pick Jamaal Anderson across from him (who hopefully has improved from last yrs dissapointing play). Prob looking at 8-10 sacks.

Both these guys above play on teams with bad offenses, thus they should see the field quite a bit (meaning lots of oppertunities to make plays).

Aaron Kampman: had a quiet 11sack year, and regardless of Corey Williams, should be able to get in the 9-11 sack range again this yr with the strong defense they have in GB.

Justin Tuck: his year will be dependent on if Strahan returns, if he does not, his value should go up. But may need the year to prepare mentally and physically to play his new role for the NYG.

Tapp played opposite Kerney last year and had a full sack in only three of 16 games. I think that may improve this year, but could still limit his upside in big play leagues. Interestingly, his 34 solo tackles (less sacks) last year suggest a burgeoning all-around threat and potential breakout season if he can become a more consistent pass rusher.Shaun Rogers has a shot a 40 solos, but he's unlikely to put up many sacks and has already whined a bit about the transition to 3-4 end. White is being moved to right end and won't have the elbow problems that plagued him last year. It helps to have a solid DT crew to keep the offense from focusing on you, but White is a complete player that shouldn't be hurt too much by the lack of one. Another guy who looks like a reasonable candidate to break through with a 45/10 season.

Tuck could stay inside (with Kiwanuka coming back to end) with Strahan out. That's where he played the majority of his snaps last year. For pass rush purposes, neither is better or worse for Tuck specifically, and it's hard to project better than 48 solos regardless of where he plays.

Abraham's issues are health and surrounding cast. If you trust him to stay healthy, he's talented enough to put up double digit sacks even with the risk of facing relatively few pass attempts on what could be a pretty bad team.

Like ME, I'm a Hali fan. He's been more inconsistent than I'd hoped, but he's beaten just as many good OT than he has weak ones. And the loss of Jared Allen is going to be mitigated by his move to right end and, hopefully, Glenn Dorsey next to him at undertackle. Ten sacks might be pushing it given his probable lack of passing attempts faced, but there's definitely an argument to be made that he'll pull it off.

Kampman won't be hurt by the loss of Williams. He looks like his leap in 2006 was no fluke; another complete player who should produce regardless of situation. The Browns current starting lineup is Rogers/Smith/Williams, but Robaire Smith will rotate in at both ends (and Rogers will probably see a few snaps at NT). Williams is probably the best bet of the four. There's 45-6 potential with him, but it'd be a major surprise to see him have top 25 value in big play leagues.

you are listing Kampman and Allen as illustrations aren't you? They are top producers in most leagues.
I was more concerned with where their former linemates might fall this coming season. I figured those 2 would produce, but I was wondering how Hali would do without Allen now that the offenses won't have him to focus on. As for Kampman, I was wondering how much of an affect losing Williams would have, for the same reasons.

thanks! I've been studying all the IDP stuff you've posted regarding the alignments and schemes and such. Thanks for the classes, I'm learning a ton! :lmao:
