Five Guys thread, a 130+ page swordfight. (1 Viewer)

Burger Fi is damn damn good and their fries and onion rings are incredibly delicious.

http://burgerfi.com/

It's my go to burger joint in South Florida.
We have one in Virginia (Leesburg). I've heard good things about this place but never made the trek (about 45 minutes away).
Well that is a long way for burger and fries. But if your in that area for other reasons I would highly suggest you eat there.

It's pretty awesome.
I live in Leesburg, been to Burger Fi many times. The burgers are good, lots of topping choices (fried egg is my favorite), their fries are also good. I think their onion rings suck personally. They have TWO fancy soda machines. There are also plenty of 5 guys around here. I go to 5 guys when I'm looking for a sloppy greasy burger.

If you make the trek to Leesburg and want a burger though you should visit Melt

^^Have heard good things about Melt too. Leesburg has some awesome restaurants. Absolutely love Tuscarora Mill and Lightfoot Cafe.

Tuskies is awesome. Fireworks Pizza is great. Waiting for a good BBQ place. There have been a couple starting but nothing that has blown me away. We need a McClure's franchise stat.

Fancy soda machine sucks balls.

At a 5 Guys, it creates a big logjam because people are easily confused, and there's no chance for two people to use it at once.

Also, it mixes really bad Coke Zero.

Why are you drinking that?
He's watching his figure
Yup.

I went from 200# to 175# about three years ago by dumping regular Coke. I don't like the taste of Diet Coke, but do like Coke Zero.

From a can, bottle, or normal fountain machine, Coke Zero is good. From the fancy 100-options machine, it's really bad - it tastes like all the fruity flavors get mixed in a little bit, so I'm getting lime-cherry-lemon Coke Zero, which is just too sweet for my taste.

Thoae machines suck because they do mix the flavors. I hate that crap.

Dump the soda entirely. Drink water. Its better for you.

Jack in the Box has the new digital soda machines, it had like 8 types of coke. Good stuff. I also had an Ultimate Cheeseburger from Jack, still damn good.

Really? I think you're wrong.

Had a terrible five guys experience for the first time. Soggy, nasty, yet undercooked fries, undercooked burger.

Finally saw what some people hate. But never happened to me before.

You spend $10+ at the fast food joints anymore so money shouldn't be the deciding factor here. Anyone tried Burger-Fi? Not quite the same as 5 Guys but they have beer, lots of it and craft beer I might add.

Finally opened up one near me and it serves milkshakes! Opened last week and there wasn't much of a wait in a very busy area.

BTW, Chick Fil A is sprouting up a little in the northeast, damn good chicken sandwiches, waffle fries, chicken nuggets, and dipping sauces. Went to one with the wife and kid and the 3 of us ate for $19... We ####### love that place!

Firehouse still blows.

Went there, bag of chips, fountain soda and an 8 inch, measly portioned sub for 10 bucks.

The quality wasn't awful, but for that price I expect more substance.

They are in NYC and here on LI already. One will open right on my way to work.

Great place for families. We go there at least every couple of weeks with the kids.

Just catching up here.... Culver's, oh man, how I miss having that place a couple miles away in Austin (and in St. Paul for that matter). Great burgers, curds and their concrete mixers are f'ing awesome. How someone could say they are below average just blows me away.

Someone mentioned Jack in the Box's Ultimate Cheeseburger. Their meat isn't as good as some fast food joints but throw that bad boy on sourdough and nomnomnom.

Haven't had Five Guys in a few years but was always good with what I got there. Their hot dogs are actually pretty good too.

And the fancy soda machine? Love it. Sure, if you have a moron in front of you it can be frustrating, but their Cherry Coke is the bomb. It's not the prefab Cherry Coke. It's Coke with actual cherry syrup mixed right at the time you dispense.

I've been cutting back on fast food the past few weeks but man, this thread is killing me. That and all the new commercials for these cheap deals many spots are running. McDonald's is "Pick 2 for $2" but let's face it, you're doubling down there. Now Burger King has some 5 for $4, Wendy's has it too.

Thinking of trying the BK thing today. :oldunsure:

Sure, if you love cherry syrup Coke, it's great. If you love regular Sprite, you get cherry syrup Cokey Sprite.

There's no flush sequence before the next delivery.

Great place to go on Sunday when the other restaurants are crazy crowded.

I was dining at a local Italian place tonight. A couple long tables were clearly set up for a large reservation. A large group appeared and filled the tables. My wife noticed that they all arrived at the same time. She asked the waitress, "How did they all arrive at the same time? Were they on a bus?" The waitress said yes and then said they were all Five Guys executives who came to town for a meeting. There were about 25 of them. All white. That is all.

Seems like a "white guy" type of franchise.

"TWENTY-FIVE IN THE DOOR!"

Seems like the FF places are really trying to compete with their meal deals.

Bout time!

Really pointless to go spend $7-9 for a crappy meal.

These deals they have out seems like they really can give you an incentive to go to Wendy/BK/McD over the burger places.

I haven't had any FF since mid Dec but seems like options are better at the moment if cost is a deciding factor.

I ####### KNEW there were more than five of them.

Is it that all 25 are white? You should see the Chick-Fil-A regional gatherings.

Been staying away (for the most part) from fast food but caved again today... :bag:

Taco Bell, $1 crunchwrap sliders... not bad. Not great, but not bad.

Still love the $1 Fritos beefy burrito. Can't believe it's $1. It's just rice, beef, nacho cheese sauce and Fritos, but man it fills you up.

I spent under $6 with drink, and could have had 1 less item, so... should have been under $5. Next time.

And, bonus, saw the hottest piece of little Orange County ### on the way out. She was going in. Even hotties eat Taco Bell! :excited:

Don't know about the NE but here in Colorado they have a spicy chicken, egg, bacon, and cheese all on a bagel for a breakfast sandwich. Best fast food breakfast there is.

Anyone try Barebuger? East coast chain? They just opened up one in Santa Monica. Any good?
I have each Shake Shack / Bare Burger within 10 blocks of my house... Bare Burger is nothing special, also more expensive than anything listed above... Burger is meh, wife likes their salads and I actually get the Buffalo Chicken sammich there.

Shake Shack is good, also on the higher end in price - Crinkle cut fries are good.

Overall, Shake Shack gets a B, Bare Burger a C+
