Five Guys Burgers and Fries Maybe the greasiest meal I ever ateBut..................Hot DAMN was that a good burger !!! :excited:
so, to summarize, you guys get a dollar wendy's doublestack and are convinced through some marketing tricks that it's the best burger you ever ate by adding 'free' toppings for an extra 6 dollars.and 'free' peanuts.reminds me of that great steak and shake 'butterburger' I kept hearing about./thread
Butterburger is Culver's, not Steak and Shake. You're obviously out of your element here.

Not getting the hate for Wendy's. Still one of the best burgers and surely the best of the big 3. Value-wise they're better than 5Guys and it's not close, especially since Wendy's upgraded their fries.
Are you DUMB?!?!

Couple months ago I ate at a Red Robin for the first time. Talk about overrated IMO. The burger was ok enough, got one of their specialty ones, but nothing stood out to me and the flavor was average. Only thing I would give it over 5 Guys is that I can order it done medium. I also dont get the "bottomless fries" draw considering they serve the equivalent of Ore-Ida steak fries. Its every bit as expensive as 5 Guys, if not a little more. Plus since you have a server there I need to give a tip on top of that?! How is this place still in business???
That's just an awful awful place.

Because the food is so much better, Im perfectly fine paying an extra $1-2 for 5 Guys.
That's the thing. Not all of us think 5 guys is much better than Wendy's. While I cant speak for others it seems tw quality is a little better, the fries a ton better and the burgers so overlooked that I may lean Wendy's.
Wendy's burgers went downhill a few years ago IMO, I guess when they switched to "hot n juicy" burgers? Their old burgers where bar none the best FF burger. Now I would lean Burger King. New ones are dry and have no flavor.Id say 5 Guys quality/freshness of both the burgers and fries kills standard FF places, Wendy's included. But hey, if you prefer Wendy's since it is slightly cheaper go there if you please.
Wendy's hasn't been any better than awful in years. The parking lots are always empty when I drive by.

There's seriously a debate on what's better between 5 guys and Wendy's? Its like debating if an MLB team is better than an AAA team...it's not even close. He'll I'm not even sure Wendy's is real meat anymore...it's like some puffy meat like concoction akin to McDonald's.
These threads are unbelievable. If you hunt down the Ruth's Chris thread, someone in there said they were the "McDonald's" of steaks.

When I go to Wendy's, I rarely finish the fries.
:lmao: OH BULL####
:goodposting: You would be right, 95% of the time. I usually get the spicy chicken, large fry and large tea or Diet Coke. I almost always throw away some fries. Not every time, but more often than not.

Double stacks are two dollars now.

Best french fries on the market, hands down!
I think In-N-Out has the best fries, and best food, by far. They have a Five Guys where I live. Overpriced, and it isn't very good.
Meh, I had In and Out the last time I was in San Francisco... It tasted like a downgrade of McDonald's to me.Five guys has big fat, fresh cut, cooked in peanut oil fries... & they give you sooo many! Unbeatable!

In and Out fries taste like those shoe string potatoes in a can. Blech.Best fries are the crinkle cut goodness found at Del Taco, hands down.
Never heard of Del Taco... In order to be in the running for best fries it needs to be something that is widely available.

East coast surprise? They are flavorless fries.
I'll have to arrange a return visit. McDonald's -- always overdone when I get them. BK - what's to say about BK's fries. Wendy's - pretty good imitation of steak fries. In N Out does it for me, what can I say?
Maybe they hacked your phone and your taste buds?
Maybe, man, maybe.

eta* why are you angry about what happened to me? In all honesty, I've lurked and posted on this board for three years, and you're kind of an #######. Always. Good luck to you, man. I hope you get off on it.

Wikipedia says 290 In and Out locations vs 526 for Del Taco, though Del Taco pretty much out west.

Fast food, nothing that special. Combines tacos and burgers and fries. The fries are awesome though IMO.

Eh, I think it was kind of an unnecessary dig at a weird story. And -- honestly -- I've never read a non-negative post by you. You might be a great guy. So...fair enough. Probably could have done without the eta, frankly. Be well...

Correct... on In-N-Out. I like Five Guys too but they're higher and we don't have In-N-Out where I live.

This is all very confusing. I think I took a cheap shot at what I think is a very weird story without considering that to you it's a pretty big deal. Shouldn't have done that. But most of my posts are non negative. I think.

Yep.

First time I had 5 guys, I thought McD's had a better burger. I travel a little, and 3 years later it was the only place in RDU for food, so I gave it another chance. Now I can not go on a trip without getting a burger there first.

My complaint with In-N-Out fries is that half of them are cut so short. Hard to get a good dollop of kethcup on them. You get a lot of crumbs basically.

Animal style does cool fast which makes taking them to-go a problem. But hot in the restaurant they are real good. Need a fork though otherwise they just break apart.

If you're gonna eat that cardboard crap In-N-Out calls "fries" you better get them animal style. Otherwise you're better off saving yourself a few bucks and eat the napkins instead.

LOL at cardboard crap being a potato that they freshly cut right before your eyes.

Maybe the other stuff you like tastes better to you because of the crap they add to it.

We have some Del Tacos here in central Florida. Never tried their fries. I will now though.

They are like middle-school cafeteria fries. No bueno.

I've stated it before, but I think there's a lotta lemming to the In-n-Out love. It's part of the whole "experience" - now, a good part of it's legit. Fresh ingredients, a great friendly workforce. But imo, it's one of if not the most overrated fast food place out there.

Burgers are ok, can hit the spot at times, but it's hardly a great piece of meat. Fatburger (grilled, must be grilled) is a far tastier and more substantive fresh burger, akin to what you'd grill yourself. Del Taco is really just a cheap place... it was awesome in college (burger, taco, fries for 99 cents was hard to beat, even 15-20 years ago) but some variety. Wendy's burgers of the major chains is the best imo ... the most like a fast grill burger joint, and I can see arguing wendy's burgers over In-N-Out even, but can appreciate those who prefer IIO... especially animal style or other stackings.

As far as fries, I can cut fresh fries and cook them in a bland mushy manner as well. They might be fresh but imo, they just suck. McD's is hardly healthy nor fresh, but their fries when steaming hot are still awesome. Wendy's fries have grown on my but too salty overall.
