Picked up some Chick-Fil-A.

2 delicious sandwiches and 2 large waffle fries for a nut hair over $10 before tax.

Didn't have to get out of the car. Nobody yelled at us. Didn't have to ration out a small order of fries.
Yeah, but you supported hatred and bigotry.
I hate their politics and I'm not a religious man, but I do respect the closed on Sunday thing.

I don't agree with some of their principles, but I can respect forgoing a #### ton of revenue in an attempt to do what you think is the right thing.

More importantly, it's a delicious sandwich and the service is great (hiring young, attractive girls never hurts).

Which one you going to?
Culver or SM
There's only two.
I'm going to one of them.
Hit 'em both, fagmo.
Sounded interesting so I went to their website. I hope the food is worth it because the website is a pretentiousness #### box.
It's worth it

Fantastic as always. Burger and fries. Avocado toast and butterfish w/ chorizo.
There is something seriously wrong with me that I have lived on the westside for 11 years and have never been there.

Agreed

I went to LA this weekend and had In-N-Out double-double animal style. It was OK.

So I stopped off at 5 guys to grab a burger last night after curling. And for the first time ever, I heard the "X in the door."

As I waited my food, I watched the routine over and over. I don't know if the guy was new or what, but he would not deviate from his script.

"X in the door." as people approached the door.

"Welcome! Have you ever been to a 5 Guys before?" (I understand that question when it's a new location or a new market, but this location has been there for about 3 years.)

"Are you aware that a regular fries can comfortably feed 2?"

As the receipt prints "So how is your day going?"

"You are number Y. Your food will be ready momentarily."

Hardly the shouting that some people make it out in here. Same volume as the "X patties." Only slightly louder than his normal speaking voice. Probably not even noticeable unless you're paying attention to it.

In N Out folks haven't eaten a real meal in awhile. They're very sensitive. Probably why the calling out of numbers bothers them.

Day 1 in So Cal. Like 1000's of others, first stop is In N Out.

No one has ever said that about 5Losers.

$13 for two double doubles with fries and drink.

The fries were awesome, but I had to ask for help opening the salt packet. Tear in the right corner Rud!!!

Can't trust the opinion of anyone who likes those fries.

Enjoy your salty cardboard!

San Antonio is finally slated to get it's first In-N-Out. We already have a Five Guys. So give it a few months and I'll come back and post the definitive correct answer. By then the thread should only be what, 1200, 1300 pages?

This thought just occurred to me, does INO advertise using commercials? Seems like every fast food joint that is at least a regional chain has commercials, but 5G's doesnt. Impressive their business has expanded so much in the last 5-10 years without the use of commercials.

They do a lot of radio, never seen a TV add.

5 Guys spends their entire ad budget on decorating their walls with self-praising articles and giant posters telling you where they buy their potatoes.

Moved to San Diego a month ago. I had 5G within the week before I left VA and had INO a couple weeks ago. IMO:

5G burger > INO burger

5G fries >> INO fries

Of course, 5G costs a fair amount more than INO. So, as with most things, it's a case of getting what you pay for. 5G is better food for higher price.

More importantly, I went to Burger Lounge yesterday, which completely blows both 5G and INO away. I'd happily pay more for Burger Lounge from here on out than ever eating again at 5G or INO.

Like thousands of lemmings, yes.

It's ok drunk food and every so often their burgers are worth a shot.

But if you are going to go out of your way and want a real treat while in LA, find a location of The Hat. Worth a half hour drive, EASY.

Best pastrami dpi and chili fries anywhere. Period.

What is a pastrami dpi?

And if you are getting pastrami in Los Angeles and don't include Langer's in the conversation then you...well you're missing something.

Okay so we've settled the fact that In-N-Out>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Five Guys and that the Phili Cheesesteak is just another sandwich.

What's next?

Its when you go bizarro world Costanza and bang your girl while she's eating a pastrami sandwich.

Big fan of Langers... which is as good a deli for an NYer that I know of in LA (Canters is serviceable for drunk munchies, fries and gravy etc but for real deli meats, just not very good)

Pastrami Dip is like a french dip with a ton of very thin sliced Pastrami (you dont actually dip it in au jus, it's like thin sliced pastrami that is dipped in some type of pastrami juice or something, then PILED on a foot long roll). Usually loaded with pickles and has mustard on it (I go no mustard, fwiw).

The Hat has about 5 locations, mostly east LA and into the eastern burbs I think. And as good as Langers is, I'm including Katz's Deli and all NY comers, and The Hat is the best Pastrami I've ever had.

I didn't realize this was settled... Also as a lifelong NYer, I'd say Philly Cheesesteaks dominate what I can find locally.

No, but I just can't believe any Pastrami (or corned beef) could be better than Katz... It's just too delicious.

I understand.

Yet, here I was, The Hat Pastrami dip in front of me. And, honestly, it was so freakin' awesome even a good NY boy has to tip his cap to the Hat.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Katz. And in terms of thicker cut Pastrami, nothing is as good.

But The Hat is another realm, altogether. It's that freakin' good. Oodles of times better than either InO or 5G - not even remotely close, at all.

Just a skirmish, the war is over man In-N-Out crushed 5G.

And the cheesesteak is JAS.

Don't hang on to a lost cause, it's just sad.
