WGR550- The NFL has announced that the Vikings/ Redskins match-up will be the featured prime-time game for Sunday December 23rd. That means the game between the Bills and Giants will be a 1 o'clock start. There was talk of the league and NBC using the "flex" schedule to bump Bills/ Giants to prime-time.

Seriously Vikings vs Redskins next week?

I think they have the Redskins this week as well instead of Cleveland/Buffalo a way bigger game.

Big money markets - Only reason the Bills got the Monday night game was because they played Dallas and the only other reason we had the sunday night game was because the New England love fest.

 NFL only cares about big market teams

I hate to say it but the Redskins love fest is getting out of hand.

Ok I understand having the Bears/Skins NFL network Thursday game but then 2 straight Sunday night games with the Redskins?

Dont you mean NBC?

Looks like a crap game but if I had to guess it's NBC wanting to get Adrian Peterson on its schedule to showcase the probable Rookie of the Year.

Beats getting the Pats and/or Cowboys game in prime time every effing week.
True, I'd rather watch the Pats/Dolphins game then see the Redskins two straight Sunday Night Games. No disrespect to Sean Taylor but had he not passed away In my opinion NBC wouldn't have the Skins playing two straight games. However there is a rumor the Bills turned down the game vs the Giants - Is that even allowed?

I actually think it's an excellent choice. Both are vying for the playoffs. ADP is a prime time player. I'm looking forward to it.

True, but I thought it was about the best games not players. Monday Night Football doesn't do flex scheduling, either do it right or not at all.Monday Night is the Saints/Falcons

I would be also if the Redskins weren't so bunched up with other teams for the playoffs. Buffalo is in a better position to make the playoffs then Washington.Which is why the Giants/Bills would be better IMO.

The Skins-Giants game was chosen in the beginning of the year. And I seriously doubt the WAS-MIN game was chosen because of Sean Taylor's death. It has more to do with the fact that A) It wasnt protected B) ADP C) playoff implications. If you cant see this then I dont know what to tell you.

Every game is chosen at the start of the year. Just like the Tampa/49ers game on the 23rd that got moved like it should have been.

I have no Problem with the Vikings. I'm just trying to understand why the Redskins will be on again! Potentially without Campbell right? Surely the Vikings had better matchups that NBC could showcase ADP?

;) it's all about either (A) giving the fans what they want or (B) making $ by showing games people want to watch. No doubt about it, people want to see Peterson.

Minnesota is one of the hotter teams right now.

Washington has an outside chance of a WC if they beat Minnesota.

This was a pretty good pick, and certainly not just for "big market" teams.

Vikings - Redskins......if you have insomnia ;) , you will be cured. There is a reason for everything. I gave you this one.

Chicago or Denver? SF or Detroit?Sure, week 12 vs. the Giants would have been good, but that was Philly vs. New England.

Isn't there still also a limit to the # of prime-time games per team? So you're goign to get some less desireable matchups as teams run out of appearances.

Bills were humiliated in their last primetime game against the Patriots. Giants and Eli normally fade down the stretch.

If the Bills lose to Cleveland next week and the Giants wrap up a wild card spot in the NFC, the game could lose it's appeal pretty quickly.

Vikings/Redskins game could determine a wild card spot in the NFC.

#6 is the reason why - gotta get the Atlanta Ratings Bump

All kidding aside, it's a good game that will surely have playoff implications, even if it's just as the final clincher for the Vikings.

Worst Case: Vikings 8-6, Redskins 6-8 and the Vikings can clinch, but a Redskins win still has meaning in terms of their playoff hopes almost certainly

Best Case: Vikings 7-7, Redskins 7-7 and you have a virtual playoff game.
