Flexible lineup "sets" (1 Viewer)

Footballguy
I was wondering if anyone does this, and if so if they could mention a fantasy host or two that allows for this.

Before the season starts, every team in the league declares a lineup "set." Much like real football, one could be "jumbo," which would be something like this: QB, 3RB, 2TE, 1WR .... (K, Defense)

Another could be "spread": QB, 4WR, 1TE, 1RB ..... (K, Defense)

And base: QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE .... (K, Defense)

And whatever. The exact examples don't matter, because I haven't put much thought into them. You'd have to make sure they're all roughly equal (no point doing it if one option is obviously superior to the others).

So you declare your "set" before the season starts (either before or after your draft, depending on league preference), and you use that set for the entire year.

Just wondering if anyone does this, because it seems like a fun idea that could add some variety to leagues, and let your fantasy league better mirror actual football.

not sure that with bye weeks, injuries, etc that I would want to be tied down to one formation all year...and if you chose to do so most any site will be able to accomodate it, except the commish would probably have to monitor it to make sure each owner keeps it the same each week, not sure if you can customize the option specifically to a team and have it not allow their lineup if they put in the wrong formation

we allow you to use any one of the following any time you want

1. Trips: QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, K, D

2. 4Wide: QB, RB, WR, WR, WR, WR,TE, K, D

3. Full House: QB, RB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, K, D

4. Double Tight: QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, TE, K, D

5. Double Tight/3 Wide: QB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, TE, K, D

We do flexible starting lineups, but they vary from week to week. We do it both on offense and for idps, so owners can play matchups, particularly during the bye weeks.

My league allows different sets but owners don’t have to declare one for the entire season, we can change sets every week

We use MFL

we have 3 sets that are permanent once started the first week

Pro: 1QB/2RB/3WR/1TE/1K/1DEF (benefit: injuries and bye weeks are hardly ever a factor)

run-n-shoot: 1QB/1RB/5WR/1K/1DEF (benefit: you don't have to play or waste roster spots on TE)

Power: 1QB/3RB/2WR/1TE/1K/1DEF (benefit: 3 running backs)

we use MFL with a message board post of each teams sets, MFL won't 'catch' and offender if he starts an illegal set so it is up to the opposing team - we even had an owner turn himself in one time because he had a faulty set
