Footballguys Interactive Fantasy Magazine (1 Viewer)

Imagine a fantasy magazine where the data is always up to date and has these characteristics:

- Players are ranked according to your scoring rules. You read the quarterbacks section and that section has been ordered based on projected fantasy points according to your rules. You change the scoring criteria (or projections change) and that same article has been constructed differently.

- Magazine is built based on user-defined interest levels. IDP, Auction, Dynasty, High Stakes, Beginner sections can be turned on/off based on interest.

- Top 5 to 15 articles every day from around the web (not produced by Footballguys) are tagged and brought in as links to this magazine. This ensures the magazine never gets stale and can actually be read every day all preseason long as it features the very best free content regarding fantasy football.

- Ability to go from reading articles to a DRAFT MODE where you can execute a draft right from within the same app (against your pre-defined scoring rules). At the conclusion of a draft/mock, you can get instant feedback via our Rate My Team feature.

- A fantasy magazine that has about 2,000 - 3,000 pages of content instead of the usual 160 pages of printed material.

We are pretty sure this will be a game changer in this space. It's the magazine the players have always wanted...A self-correcting magazine that isn't full of out-dated info minutes after it goes to the printers.

Stellar. Not to be too over the top but Flipboard and pulse are doing some cool things with regard to displaying custom content. I could see this concept looking like that and really exciting out customers.

Yes Flipboard and Zite use RSS readers to load in a lot of content. The problem in the fantasy space is a lot of great content is not available via RSS readers. We are committed to "Tagging" the best content in Fantasy Football. By "tagging it", we then make it all 100% searchable to player, author, subject, keywords, etc. This is the ONE MAGAZINE you must own this year.

This sounds great! Does this also mean that we'll have a draft dominator ipad app?
We will have a drafting app contained in the Magazine. It will not be as robust as the Draft Dominator for a bunch of reasons. The Draft Dominator utilizes a ton of open windows that really doesn't bode well for execution on the iPad (in my opinion). The smaller real estate also poses significant issues. Although there is definitely a niche group (our subscribers) that would love such a product, I think this magazine (which allows a user to go from reading to drafting) is a better fit for most fantasy players.

Separate from FBG subscription or included?

ETA: Thanks for including other tablets since I'm on Android.

It sounds interesting, but, with all due respect, I think David/FBG tends to overuse the term "game changer."

make it useable on my blackberry playbook and I'm all over it. It's not quite the same on the iphone....

I work in the mobile industry and can offer some thoughts. Would be happy to assist if the FBG team needs suggestions.

Playbook can play Android apps (approved by Blackberry...not the whole market) so that would make sense more than spreading resources for another OS.

An app written for HTML5 would ultimately be the best use of developing time because it can run thru a browser on any device. Similar to flash games on Facebook. Adobe Air is another option that can cross platforms but is more expensive if not simpler.

The mobile FBG app is OK but not any different than using the mobile link and browser. On android that is my preference to use the browser because the Android app kicks you out of a page when the accelerometer engages (sending back to start page). Apple app doesn't do this.

Overall I am just excited to read of the new efforts and ideas!

IN before you guys are 28 minutes late unveiling this game changer for people to start complaining FBG can't deliver material on time promised.

:-( Don't have an i-pad. About as close as I can get is that I have a motorola droid razr maxx. My wife has an HTC EVO. Both run on the Android OS.
