Yes, I know all Patriots fans want to see it, and all Giants fans don't, but what about the rest of us?

Do you want to see a perfect 19-0 season in your lifetime?

Yeah, I wanna see it happen. Next year, I'll be rooting for anyone but the Pats, not because I hate them or anything, just like to see a different face on top of the mountain.

Maybe one with a black helmet, and a stylized Falcon on the side. Yeah, that's the ticket!

As an Eagles fan, I especially want to see the Giants lose.
:thumbdown:I'd rather see Brady get his 9th ring than see Eli, Shockey, Plaxico, Strahan get one. (But it will be funny to see the look on Tiki's face if they win it)

I understand that the Pats are severely hated. However, wouldn't the general public be better off if they never had to see Mercury Morris again???

As a football fan, no.

You know, I am not a fan of Richard Seymour, Rodney Harrison, Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, Ellis Hobbs, Mike Vrabel, Junior Seau, Randy Moss, Donte Stallworth, Vince Wilfork... I can go on. I don't like their owner either, Mr. Kraft.

BUT

There are some guys I do like, mainly Wes Welker, Asante Samuel, Kyle Brady, Kevin Faulk, Troy Brown (IR).

I would rather listen to Mercury Morris though, about being the only team on the block, in the neighborhood, wherever, that has gone unbeaten instead of getting slammed with the marketing blitz that will ensue if New England does indeed finish 19-0.

19-0 is no small feat and should be commended, but I am not a fan of a team like New England, who were caught violating league policy (then swept under the rug, regardless of the loss of draft pick) hitting that mark.

Sorry. Just my humble opinion.

Just curious, but can you provide any reasons for not liking the highlighted gents?

Sure, even though this could turn into a free for all to bash my humble opinion.Richard Seymour --- I do think he is a dirty player, period. Nothing wrong with being dirty but he is one of the guys that gets a cheap shot in whenever he can. Just get off of the pile instead of poking someone in their eye. I know that can be said to be a "part of the game" but in an era where money is too prevalent and where just one bad turn, push, shove, whatever could cause a devastating injury... knock it off. Players are too easily replaced nowadays.

Tom Brady --- First off, he seems like an arrogant ##### (no, I do not know him but I am glad I do not). I have several VHS from any given year of CFB and NFL. I have no idea where he got his arm strength, but he picked it up somewhere. Secondly, he changed. When he won his first Super Bowl, he was humble, joyous, excited. If he goes 19-0, I am sure that he will not celebrate in the same fashion as before (any of the others) instead it will be a quiet, told you so approach. Third, have you ever just looked at someone and knew you didn't like him. Don't lie.

Mike Vrabel --- Overrated. Great season this year, but years before, he was overrated. Period. He is a linebacker that can catch a touchdown pass. Good for him. If team's can't see that now, how many years later, their defensive coordinators need reprimanded.

Donte Stallworth --- How many years in this league? Stallworth has had more hamstring issues than Travis Henry has kids. He is also overhyped all of the time, including by John Madden on MNF (for what it is worth, it is Madden) as the best WR2 in all of football when he isn't even the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th (most of the time) option on his team. When he gets 85 receptions or 1,000 yards, come and talk to me. You know what he doesn't have in common with Mike Furrey, Bobby Engram, Ashley Lelie, Antonio Freeman, Kevin Curtis, and Nate Burleson? 1,000 yard seasons or 85 catches or more. Yeah baby. When Donte Stallworth gets off of the Brandon Lloyd bus, let me know, then I may reevaluate my opinion on him.

---These are my own personal opinions, if you do not agree, than so be it, pay it no mind---

I wouldn't mind seeing perfection, but not from the Pats. Sorry to sound like a hater, but I was really turned off by the whole spy gate thing. Not so much the spy gate issue itself (because I'm sure he isn't the first guy to do it), but BB's response to getting caught by playing the victim role and running up the score on their opponents. I've always been a believer in respecting your opponents and I just don't like seeing that stuff. Perfection yes, the Patriots doing it, no.

on one hand i dont want to see the giants win, they dont belong there at all and on the other hand, i just dislike the pats as of late ( past few years )

so meh. not even watching it this year

That's ok. I think the OP only wanted votes from football fans anyway.

This was my point. When you say you don't like somebody, it implies something of a personal nature. However, with an NFL player or any superstar for that matter the only things you know about them is what the media PORTRAYS as their personality. So, it's actually grossly pre-mature to say that you don't like anyone, because you simply don't know them. Now, the media gives more attention to certain guys and you see more of them. So, you try to make judgments about them based on some footage on ESPN. Sorry about that, I got carried away, and I'm going to stop there, because I don't want to hi-jack this post and make it another "hater" thread.

No. It gives teams something to strive for every year...and each year it doesn't happen it makes it that much better.

One small point: The Dolphins of 72' argument just doesn't make sense to me. That team is annoying but they won't be around much longer. Do I really want to hear from Bill Belichick and company for the next 50 years? And even if the Pats go 19-0 does anybody expect that Dolphins team to shut up anyway? Carry on.

I don't watch ESPN. If you don't like my opinion, why respond if you are afraid it turns into another hater thread? But, before you go, please explain the following from my post, because it has nothing to do with personalities...

1. Vrabels average seasons before 2007 (this year, his first year as a Pro Bowler).

2. Stallworth's lack of production and failure to live up to the hype surrounding his name.

3. Seymour's dirty play on the field (because we all know that ESPN and major media outlets love the Pats and fail to show his dirty play).

As for Brady, I just don't like the guy. Are you going to get less sleep at night because I don't like Rodney Peete either?

Have a nice day. I know I will.

No. It gives teams something to strive for every year...and each year it doesn't happen it makes it that much better.
This is an excellent point. Obviously I'm looking forward to 19-0, but the fact that nobody has ever done it and therefore gives each season a goal never attained before is spot on. Now the NFL has to add another game or two to the season...

Could care less about the SB. Would have been great if GB made it. But i dont want to see the Giants get rolled. I MAY watch the 4th qrtr and thats it...

Oh i love football but was looking for a good SB. I dont think the NY football Giants have ANY chance at all. IMO week 17 was a game the nfl set for the whole nation to see and enjoy..It wasnt a measure of the teams in anyway. JMO. The Pats wont have to try too hard.

I'll leave the rest of your thoughts aside, and even admit that there is some truth to some of the things you've said about some of the others... but you pretty much blew your credibility with your comments about Mike Vrabel. You should watch a game here and there before you make any more feeble attempts at assessing a football player's abilities. Your entire argument is based around the premise that his whole game is catching TD passes on offense. Weak. We're talking about one of the best linebackers in football here, and it has absolutely nothing to do with the highlight TD catches you watch on SportsCenter.

Hey --you can't vote here dude....and I'll add in the cheap shot from Vrabel on Clevelands Steinbach made me not a fan of his.

Yes, and I hate the Giants.

Even if it was the Packers instead of the Giants I would want to see the Pats win.

Apparently, I'm behind the curve. Before MadHatter's posts I don't ever recall ever seing anyone linking Richard Seymour and dirty play.
Same here. I assumed it was from the sworn testimony of a self described dirty playing, bitter Charger, and a friend of a friends cousins father who was at the game, so it must be true.

I hadn't heard much about this before either. I do remember him pushing P. Rivers to the ground during the game and here's a few comments from Nick Hardwick:“Richard Seymour is the biggest (expletive) I've ever come across in football,” Hardwick said. “They've got 10 good football players on that team. Richard Seymour is a dirty, cheap little pompous (expletive).” “He's cheap and dirty, and the head man just let him get away with it the whole time,” Hardwick said. “They've got 10 great players, and when Jarvis Green is on the field they have 11 great players that compete how you're supposed to compete. But that Richard Seymour is the biggest (expletive) I've ever played. “Head-slapping, foot-stomping in the pile, running by and throwing punches in your back late. He's a (expletive).”

Non-Patriot Fans,

Believe me. I would be envious of Pats fans too, if I were you. However, if you're going to knock guys on the team, you should knock those with proven track records of being "trouble makers, dirty, arrogant, what have you."

But, it's plain ignorance to say that you don't like guys like Vrabel or Seymour. Now, Brady is obviously the highest profile player here, so he has taken several shots from all over the place. Bottomline. He should be the most hated thus envied man alive.

He is the best QB of all time (his record proves it) and he still is as humble as the next superstar and much more so. He has earned the right to be a pompous and egotisical ###, but he choses not too. There is no player in any sport that has accomplished what we has, relatively speaking, that is as humble acting as him. So, the shots at him are mind-blowing. You should hope and pray that your kid idolizes him and wants to be him. This is coming from a Pats fan, however I would be saying the same thing as a card-carrying confederate.

I'd love to see it, just not the Pats. I'm sick of seeing their collective backsides kissed all year long already. Welker is the only Pat i even remotely like.

It has nothing to do with envy, I pulled for the Pats to win it in 2001, Tom Brady's first. Not only that, if you don't like the opinion that I presented, you shouldn't have asked for it. It seems to me that you were on a fishing trip to begin with. People didn't like Michael Jordan. People obviously don't like Tiger Woods. If you want to take on the world and stick up for your boy Brady, go ahead, but it is foolish. I guess pushing Rivers down to the ground, a blatant cheap shot that was not penalized, isn't being dirty? Watch out tchula, you may offend some people here with your opinion, even if they ask you to elaborate. Either way, the Patriots are on the verge of something remarkable. Truly remarkable. It will happen or not happen, regardless if you like them, love them, envy them, hate them, or loathe them. I wish them the best of luck.

:goodposting: ..I've never seen Montana, nor Aikman, nor Bradshaw nor... chase down an opposing defender and mouth off at him because you burned him ... but yeah, he's humble

on one hand i dont want to see the giants win, they dont belong there at all and on the other hand, i just dislike the pats as of late ( past few years ) so meh. not even watching it this year
I'd ask why you think the Giants don't belong there (especially after taking out the 1st and 2nd seeds in their own houses), but you're obviously delusional. From Philly? Ouch.

I understand that the Pats are severely hated. However, wouldn't the general public be better off if they never had to see Mercury Morris again???
As well as Nick Bounicotti (SP) doing that champagne toast think he and some of his old Dolphin buddies used to do every year. That's the main reason why I want to see 19-0.Next year, I can route for someone else to go 19-0.

I'm a Giant's fan so I won't vote in the poll. I agree with this post. I don't like BB's sportsmanship or arrogance and spygate just made it worse. I would cheer for anyone playing the pats.

Like someone said, yea I am from philly but with fantasy football, i really don't root for a set team. This above post is a good reason. I hate BB. "I don't like BB's sportsmanship or arrogance and spygate just made it worse". Dead on, the guy is an ####### through and through and he shown that plenty of times.

Yes. I did anyway, just to witness history. As an Eagles fan, I especially want to see the Giants lose.
So you can talk about it years later like all the people that saw the 1972 Dolphins? And please say NFL history, they won't be teaching this in the classroom.

I have to say I am torn on this one - while I would personally like to see the Giants spoil the perfect season, it would be worth seeing the Pats win just to shut up those annoying 1972 Dolphins. Then again, some of the guys on this current team (e.g. Harrison) might be just as insufferable in the coming years ...

I want to see thew Giants win only because I'd like to see Tom Coughlin get a ring. But I'm not going to lose any sleep if the Patriots win.
