For an average football team... (1 Viewer)

Raider Nation

Devil's Advocate
Bengal RB Rudi Johnson wasn’t the only player wondering why the team got away from running the ball in Sunday’s 29-27 loss to Atlanta. But he was certainly the one most affected. He carried the ball five times for 32 yards and a touchdown on the opening drive, but only seven more times after that, for 14 yards, as the offense sputtered.

“A lot of games we lose is for that reason,” Johnson said in a Cincinnati Enquirer report. “You line up and play football. It’s real simple. We make it real complicated. We should have beaten this team like the other teams we lost to.”

Tackle Willie Anderson also said the Bengals should have run right at the Falcons – “It’s a joke, who they were putting in front of me,” he said. “It’s not the Ravens.”
For the record, Johnson and Anderson are probably right. But they're not getting paid to coach the team. They're getting paid to play football.

So shut up and play.

That goes for the "85" motormouth too.

That's "Ocho Cinqo" to you.

The media thinks C.J. is hilarious and they want to have his baby. Did he really think his trash talking last week was going to inspire the rest of his team to take it to the next level?

It is ironic that he thinks his team is not running the ball enough. Wasn't he just complaining about the Bengals not going for the big plays.

Take away "8-5" and this wouldn't be a big deal. I don't think as a whole the team talks a lot, just one WR with too much time on his hands. The coaches should have called more running plays this week, and I would have won my game.

Rudi Johnson not Chad said they should have run more.

Having a loudmouth guy like CJ takes a lot of attention off the other players on the team. When was the last time you heard someone complain about the the play of Palmer, Rudi, Housh, etc.? All the focus is on CJ and everyone else gets to go on about their job. Rudi and Willie should be focused on the play-calling, not on whatever attention CJ is getting.

Whether it's actually the case or not, Marvin Lewis presides over what for all the world seems like a team out of control.
