Devil's Advocate
For the record, Johnson and Anderson are probably right. But they're not getting paid to coach the team. They're getting paid to play football.Bengal RB Rudi Johnson wasn’t the only player wondering why the team got away from running the ball in Sunday’s 29-27 loss to Atlanta. But he was certainly the one most affected. He carried the ball five times for 32 yards and a touchdown on the opening drive, but only seven more times after that, for 14 yards, as the offense sputtered.
“A lot of games we lose is for that reason,” Johnson said in a Cincinnati Enquirer report. “You line up and play football. It’s real simple. We make it real complicated. We should have beaten this team like the other teams we lost to.”
Tackle Willie Anderson also said the Bengals should have run right at the Falcons – “It’s a joke, who they were putting in front of me,” he said. “It’s not the Ravens.”
So shut up and play.
That goes for the "85" motormouth too.
