For those of you who drafted Tony Romo... (1 Viewer)

Yes, I know that the Giant's D made him look like Joe Montana, but I saw this kid last year, he is the real deal folks. He knows how to read defenses, and makes quick decisions. He averages 20+ yards per completion which is just plain silly! He looks calm, cool, and collected in the pocket. I was able to snag Romo in the 7th round when QBs like Manning, Palmer, Brees, McNabb, and Bulgar were taken. Romo may be the most undervalued QB in the league right now. He's got enough talent around to post top 3 QB numbers only behind Manning and Palmer. The only troublesome matchups I see is week three against da Bears. Other than that, I see no reason why he cannot deliver 25+ TDs. I know it's only week one, but Romo looked awesome.

Now, if he could only learn how to hold a freaking kick for a FG!

I got him at 8.8 in a 12-team $500 buy-in league. All TDs 6 points too. Grabbed Roethlisberger at 9.5 - that's my platoon.

Round 4 of a 12 team, two player keeper league. QB's were flying off the board and I had to snag him. QB's that went ahead of him: Manning, Bulger, Palmer, Brady, Brees, McNabb, Kitna, Rivers, Leinart, and Rothlisberger (actually, Rothlisberger might have gone the pick after, I forget which way the snake draft was going when I chose him).

I drafted in March 2006. I got him near the end of 50th round - Zealots league.

I guess it makes up for taking Chris Simms in the 10th round of the same draft.

I was trying to hold off on QB until around 6 or 7, but QBs were moving quickly (6 pts for all TDs). So when round 5 came around I took Kitna at 5.05. At that point, there were 7 other QBs drafted, and I wanted to make sure I didn't wait too long. However, in round 7 (7.05), Romo comes back around and I decide he's the best value at that spot and I wanted to penalize the few teams that had yet to select their number 1 QB, so I took my back-up then.

Now week 1 comes and I decide I like Romo's matchup better than Kitna's. Both obviously did well, but luckily, I picked the right one. Although, I crushed my league mates (total points) with or without Romo.

I like what I ended up with in regard to my QB platoon, and I don't think I missed out on much by taking two in the first 7 rounds. I could have had Andre Johnson instead of Kitna at 5.05, and that might have been nice, but I do like the idea of two valid options at QB each week.

10 teams.

round 9.1 (pick #81)

10th QB taken:

manning

palmer

brees

bulger

brady

mcnabb

kitna

vince young

cutler

romo (me) -10th-

leinart

rivers

hasselbeck

I got him at 6.01 in a 12 team league with 1 pt per 25 yds passing and 6 point TD's. There were 9 QB's taken before him, including the likes of McNabb, Rivers and Cutler. Vince Young went with the next pick at 6.02 and I am sure the owner would have taken Romo had I not.

Romo is from a small town in the same county where I grew up. Thank you Mr. Romo for saving my fantasy A** in week one of 2007!!

I got him for $5 in a $200 auction league. That ended up being 14th in terms of salary. It's a keeper too so if he keeps this up I can see paying $12 next year for him.

8.03 12 team league, 4 points per passing TD (6 points all others). He was the #12 QB off the board.

I gotta give DD some credit here. In looking at historical data, I saw that QB's typically go earlier in this league than they should, given their relative value in the league's scoring system. This year, they went even earlier than usual, as by the end of Round 6, only two teams lacked a QB. And since Roethlisberger and Romo were still there, I decided to let the other guy budge first, and I would take whoever was left. At 7.03, he chose Eli. :blackdot: ... and complained about there not being any good QB's left.

Roethlisberger was still around for me in Round 12, so I couldn't let that go.

14-team league, picking 1.13 had a shot at him at 6.02 but opted for Leinart. Romo went a few picks later. Obviously kicking myself after one week, but it's a long season.

71st player off the board... QB10

QBs in his similar tier taken ahead of him... Vince Young, Rivers, Cutler. Of course Manning, Palmer, Brady, Brees, McNabb, Bulger were off the board.

In my other $$ leagues, Romo went in 5th rd to a cowboys homer, and in 3rd round (ahead of TO? lol) to some schmuck.

Got him for 20.0 in the FBG Contest and also picked him up in the 6th round of a 14 team League with 6 pt passing TD's.

14 team 7.02 11th QB off the board

10 team 6.01 Romo and Roeth at 10.01 (took him early because this league has been QB heavy rounds 6-7, and I thought McNabb had been taken already but so far so good).

5.04 (7th QB taken) in a 12 team redraft. 6 point passing TD's, so they flew off the board. Got Ben in the 11th round, going to go QBBC.

That's funny because I got Romo in the 3rd of a keeper league where you have to draft all starters first, so I had no choice but to take a QB in the 3rd and defense in the 5th. I took him because he played the Giants in week 10 ( :P ) when Brady is off. I started him at my flex this week because I wasn't sure about using Lamont Jordan there yet as he burned me last year. Since it is PPR, I will probably flip flop based on matchups unless one of my backup WRs steps up.The reason I think your post was funny was because I thought Romo was going to get kept over Leinart (both for same draft spot) and Leinart was kept. I was happy as I had a feeling Romo would still be there as the top of my second tier QBs. I knew Manning and McNabb would be gone and most of the other top QBs were gone as keepers.

I know this is a draft round question but I got him for $6 in a $200 cap auction draft (17 player roster). McNabb went for $26.

I got Rothlesburger for a buck because the only other guy who thought he was worth anything was taking a piss.
