For those that use Yahoo... (1 Viewer)

Do you use the "Evaluate Trade" button before offering or accepting a trade?  Also, do you think it's fairly accurate?

I "use" it in the sense that if it grades a trade as being highly imbalanced in my favor, I'm less likely to make the offer because I worry that my trading partner will balk at it. Also, if it rates it as being win-win I may mention that in my trade proposal. But if the question is whether I consider it accurate, then definitely not.

Often if you look at the week-to-week projections you can get a better idea of where the topline number is coming from. Like let's say you're offering to swap QBs, except the QB you're trading away hasn't had his bye yet, whereas the one you would get has. That's an automatic negative-20 points because Yahoo assumes the other team won't have anyone at QB that week, even though they would obviously pick up a streamer.

I have a friend I thankfully don't play with who always tells me how they did in relation to whatever random projected weekly value espn gave them earlier in the week.

This is the first year I played a Yahoo league for years. My impression is that it's not very good. Yahoo automated projections, especially weeks out, look pretty bad. Even the point projections for the current week often look wrong, and can contradict the "expert" rankings. And it just seems to rate a trade based on the impact of the starting lineup. If one team improves a starter and the other improves their depth, even with no loss of scoring for their starters, Yahoo makes it look like the first team is ripping the second one off. Things that ranked fair at any other fantasy football site, where some thought is put into player value and team strength, can get made to look awful with Yahoo's tool. But you can't ignore it, because the other party getting your offer will certainly click on it.

I am currently trying to swindle another owner, that's why I asked.  The site says he is getting the better of the deal when I give him TJ Hockenson for Justin Jefferson, and I also have Kittle.  I know the trade is completely lopsided in my favor, but I am telling the other owner to look at what Yahoo says.
