Ford Escape (1 Viewer)

I haven't driven the newer ones, but I have a 2009 that has been very reliable, and pretty good in snow. I have FWD not 4WD and still do OK.

Just bought a 2014 Ford Escape Labor Day weekend and really like it... No snow up here yet so can't tell you how it handles in the snow, but can't wait to test out the AWD

Thank you. I am looking at a 2014 or 2015 titanium 4WD for my wife. She has an Envoy now and I was looking at a Durango for her. But i think it is too big and she test drove an Escape and liked it, just dont know how it will do in New England winters

Looked at Titanium and it ended up as my 2nd choice behind a 2015 Outback. Really liked it a lot. Would have bought one, but I wasn't comparing apples to apples with the Outback. Really wanted that panoramic moonroof and the foot activated power liftgate. I test drove a 2014 and was very impressed with it overall. Would have bought one if I could have found exactly what I was looking for and the Outback wasn't available.

They handle really well in snow. One of the girls at work has a daughter that drives one, and she tells me it does well.

I've owned several Ford Ranger pick ups, 2 Explorers, and an F150. They are all awesome in the snow.

Yes, i agree that is it a very nice vehicle, just concerned how well it handles in the snow
it's an AWD compact SUV... you know how it will handle in the snow.

If you are worried about daily commutes on back roads in blizzards, get something else, other wise, AWD is AWD on something like that.

My daughter bought a 2014 Escape last year and loves it. We had a horrible winter and it was great in the snow. Lots of bells and whistles for the price as well. Plus good MPG.

Lady I work with bought one last year and absolutely loves it.

I just asked her how it handled last winter and she said not one problem.

"His wife will love it!!!"

My wife and I love ours. We have a 2013 with front wheel drive and it did fine in the snow last winter. There have been several recalls, but everything has been fixed and we are glad we bought it.

We test drove one...Titanium edition, loaded. Once you put all the options on them, they almost enter a different "class" of small SUV. I couldn't justify buying the wife a $35K small Ford SUV. We ended up getting a loaded Acura RDX for just a little more. If you're looking at they lower-end models, I think they're awesome. If you want a loaded one, keep your options open because I think there are better cars out there for the money.

Any vehicle is good in the snow if you know how to drive in the snow. Rear wheel drive aside of course....

Have a 2014 Titanium but not AWD. It was purchased and driven for its first year in MN, and handled reasonably well in snow. If you live in the boonies I recommend the AWD just in case.

Love the interior and all the bells and whistles. The Eco-Boost is solid. The thing moves when you tell it to.

liked the look of the Escape but loved everything else about the Mazda CX-5.
My buddy who also bought an Escape said the difference between the Escape w/ EcoBoost and the CX-5 with the zippiest engine was like night and day. Like mini-zoom-zoom for the Mazda and actual ZOOM from the Ford.

"The Bronco’s been discontinued. We’re trying to shed that whole fugitive on the run thing. This is the Escape."

Almost bought one couple years ago. Was down to that or the Murano we went with the Nissan. 2012 AWD platinum thing is fun to drive.

If you're worried about snow jus t buy a set of blizzacks. Got 4 for my honda fit now it's a beast in the snow. Huge difference

My daughter bought 2014 and it has had 5 recalls to date most were done same day but one time had her car for two weeks outside of that she loves it

:goodposting: Mrs Bats loved her old escape and test drove a 2014 over the summer while we were looking. Titanium loaded was just under 37k but she wasn't thrilled with the ride or size compared to her older one. I've been driving nissans for years and finally got her to test the newer Rogue and she fell in love. Same bells and whistles AWD for 31,5k and feels like a more solid car than the Escape was.

Needless to say we still have her older Escape at 130k miles and she's still going strong. Solid car.

Wife looked at the Murano and it had zero headroom. And she's 5'6".

Yeah. Took 'er in for a quick oil change and 2 recalls (door lock and passenger airbag deployment) before driving from MN to CA and it was a) leaking oil from an axle and 2) had a crack in the coolant line and was down to no anti-freeze (nice of the "computer" to tell us that).

Was a good thing I brought it in, 'cuz a near-cross-country trip would have not turned out so well.

We had a 2004 which my wife loved to death. We were actually looking for a 2012ish model, but they were darn hard to find. I think we got that thing to 170k before it started to crap out.

And like the Murano, the Rogue had zero headroom.
