Forgotten Rookies (1 Viewer)

Who are the forgotten rookie WRs, QBs & TEs with nice talent but have either failed to produce or haven't been given a shot? I'm natrurally not asking about RBs because it's rare when they are dropped in any league. I'm looking for mostly Dynasty prospects who may have been dropped during the season but who have a decent shot of really coming on in the next year or two. I'll give some examples. In the Dynasty league I'm in (12 team, 24 man rosters) these are just some examples of the rookies available on the waiver wire...

Travis Wilson

Mike Hass

Johnathan Orr

Brad Smith

Cory Rodgers

Brandon Williams

Jason Avant

Maurice Stovall

Willie Reid

Brodie Croyle

Ingle Martin

Charlie Whitehurst

Domonique Bird

Anthony Fasano

Joe Klopfenstein

Garrett Mills

Dave Thomas

Now this isn't a "who should I pick up" thread but I'm asking which rookies (that have been dropped or not drafted) do you think have the talent to emerge and why do you believe it. Which guys have the talent or opportunity to emerge over the next 2-3 years.

He's on the radar screen of many, but I really like Derek Haggan in Miami.

Granted, Chambers is the go-to guy there and not exactly old, but with a new QB in Culpepper, there could be some future chemistry with Haggan as well.

I've been trying to get Stovall in all my leagues. He's got a great situation there. Galloway is getting up there and Clayton can't seem to put it all together. He should get a shot at some point late in the year or next season.

(FYI - These are the threads that I love to see- there are too many WDIS, trade threads in here these days)

Since I started the thread let me add my :2cents: about some of the guys listed so far...

Derek Hagan - I like him as well. I think he'll be very productive once he gets a starting spot, which means he only has to get past Marty Booker.

Mark Bradley- I liked him a lot before this year but with all of his injury history and the emergence of Berrian, I think we'll have to either wait for Muhammad to retire before he gets his shot or for Chicago to draft another WR. So I'm really not that high on him at this point.

Maurice Stovall- He's got a sweet situation in that he's only waiting for galloway to retire before he steps up. My biggest concern is when Gruden will get that offense back on track. I agree in that he's a great buy low or WW pick-up in a Dynasty league if you have the space for him.

I'll add Travis Wilson- I really liked him coming out of college but you have to wonder what's going on with him in Cleveland. I understand he's got Winslow, Edwards, Jurevicius, & Northcutt ahead of him but has he even seen the field yet? He doesn't even have a catch yet this season and both Northcutt and Jurevicius have been injury this year and missed time. I would have thought Wilson would have stepped up and filled in as the #3 WR at some point during the season to cover the injuries...

I think the issue with Wilson has been injuries. He is still battling knee issues. I am a huge believer in Wilson, but he needs to get and stay healthy. Two other names:Demetrius Williams is a very good WR prospect that is on the waiver in many leaguesSinorice Moss - maybe his owner is frustrated with the injury lingering. This is a great time to buy him cheap.

How do people feel about Willie Reid? I'm not really familiar with him from college and I know he's buried behind Ward, Wilson, Washington, & Holmes but does anyone feel he has the talent to be a starting WR in the NFL?

solid hands and world class speed.. i wouldnt see him starting anytime soon though, maybe in a couple years he could be a WR#3/4 once he gets a better grasp of the offense and some reps during gametime with a healthy foot.

Avant...I don't imagine him seeing the field too much. He and Bloom.Whitehurst, well Rivers has that job locked up.Mills and Thomas, depends on Graham's status next season. Mills+Thomas, Bird and Klop, Witten+Fasano. little rough going two TEs deep on one NFL team. (Rookies)I avoid this group yet wouldn't doubt one pops up out of it. Any thoughts on these duos and picking one?

Many of the TEs have me stumped. Most of them, with the exception of Vernon Davis, Leonard Pope, and Mercedes Lewis, were drafted into situations with established starters ahead of them. It'll be tough for most of those guys to break into the starting line-ups and be productive.

Mercedes Lewis' high-ankle sprain has limited him most of the season. Whereas I don't see him contributing much this year (...especially with Garrard at QB), he's a definite "buy-low" guy for dynasty leagues.
